Very sketchy shop, I went here for a new tire & rim and they quoted me an amount for a refurbished rim and a few days later they call and say the rim isn't available anymore (I don't think they ever ordered it) so I need to pay 300 more for a brand new rim and when I asked for a refund they said they don't do refunds only store credit. Yesterday I got a flat while at Canyon Crest Shopping Center. I had AAA tow me to Magnuson on recommendation from my mom who had had previous service here. Let me say, they were fantastic! Even though they let me know I needed 4 new tires, (tires were 5+ yrs old) they also let me know one of my wheels was bigger than the other. I happened to have an original wheel at home, but it was damaged. They said to bring it in since they might be able to fix it. Brought it in today and they fixed it! No other tire place had even mentioned they could fix a bent wheel. Kudos all around. Will come back. read more

Helpful and a good deal on tires! I was a walk-in. Service was VERY friendly/considerate and quick. Only took about 3 minutes for someone to look at my bubbling tire and the guy put it on right away. Plus, he explained how/why it could've happened and how to avoid it again, as well as being honest about whether or not they had a cheaper tire. I got a new Goodyear tire for $140, great deal on a tire in my experience. Definitely recommend this place. First time coming here as I needed some work done to my car. My brother in law recommended me to get it fixed here because this is where he gets his company car taken care of. Anyways as you already know car mechanics/car shops has the rep of being "shady" like you never know you can trust them, right? Well not at Magnuso! I got a chance to have Rene help me and he was great with service also I appreciate he was up front. Such as my front light is out so they way my car is built I need to have the bumper removed to install a light. Which is like damn Honda why you build my car like this. However, Rene told me it will cost a bit more due to labor. Which I totally get it's not the parts that's expensive it's the expertise of the crew and their time. But I'm glad he let me know so I'm not going wait a minute why is it x-amount for labor when I see the bill. And as you can see in my photo, yup that's my damage I did because I thought I was excellent in backing up in a parking space...sadly I am not. But he told me he will try to get the part off market so I'm not having to pay a buttload if it was direct from Honda. And guess what Rene made some magic happen because he was able to find my part! Thank goodness and his pricing is fair. Did I also forget to mention I live 45 mins away. Also this is a family business, so I'm big on supporting small businesses especially during these times. Got alignment done on my green Silverado and the truck drifted to the right. I brought it back and the mechanic said it was fine with out connecting to the computer, and that I would need to pay again to have it worked on. If the alignment wasn't done correct I wasn't going to pay the same person to do it again and I took it a place on Hole Ave. The before and after printout from the second place on Hole is posted and shows the adjustments for tow, camber, and castor were all completely off, and had to be corrected. This Magnuson had no printer for a printout so I could not compare. I paid another $130 for this second alignment because I don't want to worry about safety issues in my steering. read more

Over a ago I needed major front end work done with steering area of my car. I reached out to Magnuson Tire for a quote on rack and pinion and other damages and right off the back he quoted me $300-$600 cheaper from 3 previous estimates from San Diego (where car broke down) to Riverside (where I reside). Being I have AAA I towed my car to Magnuson the next week and they had it done for me the same day. Since then I have taken my car back and had over 4K worth work done overtime between my 2 cars and have referred family to them. Their liable, and honestly work is definitely a reason to make them your preferred mechanic shop. They are in it for the clientele not the money unlike the mechanic shops. I highly recommend given them a chance to assist you with any car services you need. By the way ask for Rene he will definitely take care of you! As he does for my family and self. Went in to replace Oil Pan due to a stripped Oil Drain Plug. They install the new pan ($175) and tell me I have Low Oil Pressure. Advised to drive around a few days. Low Oil Pressure light still on. I go back and they recommend it could just be the Oil Pressure Sensor. Get the new sensor ($50) installed and that doesn't fix the issue. Now they advise it is most likely the Oil Pump and if I do that I should also get a new Water Pump. I go to a different mechanic and they noticed that my new Oil Pan requires a Oil Release Valve ($10). I get that installed and don't hear rattling and Low Oil Pressure is both gone. I do not know how Magnuson professional mechanic missed it but I pretty much wasted around $200 dollars for them to install a sensor that wasn't even the issue at all. To imagine I was going to spend above $800 for them to do my Oil Pump? read more

I went to the shop on a Saturday, 02/10/2018 to get my tires replaced. Tires were fixed. Not a problem. But they charged me twice. Once, the charge "didn't go through" and the second time around, it did go through. I asked if I was going to get a refund, and they did say yes, that I would. Two business days passed, yet no refund yet. I'm not sure if I can trust their words if they can't give a simple refund. They charged me twice and I am seriously not happy about this. I have taken my car in twice for different reasons and both times I was treated with respect and not taken advantage of because I was a woman with limited knowledge of mechanics. Ernesto was patient and explained everything to me in detail. He even told me how to better use my brakes as to not to wear them down. This shop installed the wrong brake rotors in my car. I spoke with Rene and he told me that since I supplied the parts that there was nothing they could do. I took my car to Scottys auto repair and was told that it was obvious at installation that this was not the right rotor for my car. This mechanic shop was deceptive and wrecklessly endangered the lives of my family. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and taking you to court over this issue. I got in at 8:25 on a Wednesday morning (which was a quiet morning). At first the guy at the front was very friendly and helpful. I came in for an alignment and they were done within 30-40 minutes. Then I got the bill. They performed the alignment for $50 but then told me that my struts were shot as were the right axle and tie rods, all of which they could do for $1,100+. Would I like to do that now? I just paid for my alignment and left. I shouldn't have even done that. They shouldn't have performed the alignment without coming to me with the other problems first. There's $50 I'll never get back, but I learned not to come here. read more

Was looking for a place to tint my windows for my car in the area of UCR and I stumbled upon Magnuson when I was driving down University and saw the signage for their window tinting service. I went in to get a quote for two front windows and they were able to do my car on the spot. For $40, I was able to to my front windows with the use of 35% Johnson film. They did a fairly decent job with a little to no bubbles on my windows. It has been a little over a month and there are no signs of fading or bubbling which means they did a good job. This is definitely the best place to get your windows tinted in Riverside when it comes to quality and price of the tinting job. I would highly recommend this place to others to get their car windows tinted. read more

I've had mixed experiences here but I'm going to have to give them a 2 star review. They do work at a decent pace and the price is fair. The only problem is that sometimes they do a poor job. My rear light was out and the light came up on the dashboard, I took it to the shop to get it fixed a few weeks later. The manager said they replaced it but the computer was not registering it and that it wouldn't really be a problem down the road. The following month I go back to Norcal and get an oil change from my dad's friend who also looks at my dashboard lights. He says the light bulb that was put it was bad and that he had to put in another one. After doing so, the light goes off. Overall pretty decent place to get work done for cheap. I find the workers to be very nice and welcoming but this poor quality of work turned me off. read more

A few weeks after my initial review, my car window fell down into the door and wouldn't move. Took it back and they did fix it. Seemed okay, maybe a little off. But now it won't close all the way and is very obviously off track. This place is awesome! My friend recommended them and I have sent several more people to them, too. Every time Bob makes sure to go above and beyond in both service and value. He sent a service truck to change my tire. I didn't have the key to unlock rim when they arrived. Next day they replaced tire for only the cost of the new tire, no charge at all for my mistake on their service calls! (They traveled over 20 miles one way). I have saved money on new tires for several vehicles and will go to them every time!!! They are always fast, friendly, and prices are more than fair....good cup of coffee, too! read more

I went to Magnuson for a diagnostic on my car. They were unable to pressure test my cylinders (which is supposed to be included with the diagnostic), but they still charged me full price. The worst part is that they cracked my windshield and refuse to take responsibility for it. I highly recommend never going to this business. I took it back three times for the squeek and metal on metal sound that they can't hear. I took it to Brake Master and they where less money and bullshit and did not steal the new center caps I just put on for some old ones. It's really to bad.
