If you're staying at the Hyatt Vacation Club in Dorado, this is the only on-site food option. It's also entirely outside, so if it's raining your option is to take food to go or tuck under the awning over at the bar. I ate here a few times during my stay and there were really no stand out dishes. Breakfast was probably the best meal I had here - the eggs benedict and steak and eggs were both solid. Coffee here is good, but shockingly priced at $6. The chicken wings here were dry. I ordered one of the specials off the dinner menu, but it was also dry and a bit bland. That said, I really enjoyed the cocktails here, and the staff were very nice and accommodating. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here during your stay, but for a quick meal by the pool it's not bad. Would def recommend breakfast food over any of the other menu items. read more

Mahi Mahi Bar & Grill is on the property of the Hyatt Vacation Club in Dorado. Turns out this is not run by the Hotel but is a private concession. First morning we had breakfast there and I thought it was pretty good. It's mostly a bar but there is a couple of tables. It was a bit rainy so we sat and ate at the bar. I had the scrambled eggs and I like mine a little loose. Came exactly as I asked. Servers were great, very attentive. Ok I'm going to take a leap here but sometimes I think that they're thinking, hmm vacationers from the States, give them the minimum and overcharge them. I was really wrong here. Food was good, service on point, and prices very reasonable. The next day we were back to the hotel in the early afternoon so why not a couple of drinks. We were using the pool and hot tub so I ordered a couple of drinks. Pina Coladas for Mrs. E. See my train of thought? I also ordered one for me. Good tasting drinks and again very reasonable. We were there the next evening and I was tempted to order their Mufongo, but didn't get the chance. They had a board with the menu on it and it was very extensive. I was impressed. We had dinner here on our last night at the resort and really enjoyed our time here. We let the server know our dietary restrictions and he let us know they could make their veggie mofongo without dairy. They did and it was delicious! This open air restaurant serves breakfast. lunch, and dinner at the Hyatt Vacation Club Hacienda Del Mar. They have both bar and table seating with adequate shade for hot days. Service was good, relatively quick, and friendly. They have a wide variety of items on the menu, including many appetizers and snacks to full meals. Prices are fair and as expected at a resort. Note that you may not charge to your room at this restaurant as it is operated completely separate from the resort. read more

We are here several times during our one-week stay. Breakfast sandwiches were decent. Ham, egg and cheese on Cuban bread. Lunch and dinner were just okay. I stay at Hyatt resorts often and expect better. Nachos were made with processed chicken and ballpark cheese - total inedible. Ceviche and tres leche cake were best food we had. Today is day 5 of my family's vacation. The MAHI MAHI bar and grill is located on the Hyatt's property. It is a great beach bar and grill with an amazing view of the ocean! The menu has many options. The food is served to perfection and is hot off the grill. The bartenders and servers are friendly and efficient. This review is just for the bar and grill! Not for the hotel. I left a pretty good review of this hotel that you can read on that page. This bar and grill is not great! Service is good. And ambiance is of course good because it's on the beach. But the problem is the food! The food is not good. I got mofongo here and it was the worst mofongo I have ever had (it was so dry). Almost all the food they serve is frozen, and you can tell. The vegetables are literally just defrosted. I feel like the prices are way too high for that! I also don't like that they use so much plastic. There are no reusables. They will always give you plastic everything, including utensils. You would think a restaurant located on a beautiful beach would care more about protecting the environment! read more

Cute and friendly stray dogs at this location and staff never shooed them away and fed them food which I am an animal person so they warmed my heart. This is my fourth year staying at the Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar in Dorado and one of the highlights is Mahi Mahi Bar and Grill! A casual waterfront eatery, Al fresco dining, and amazing food. I love the ceviche served in a fresh avocado with house made plantain chips, fish and shrimp tacos, beans and rice, and grilled fish to name a few. Even the burgers and hot dogs are high quality, and definitely don't miss out on the fries (especially the truffle fries). Tonight our family had lamb chops with potatoes and asparagus! A hidden gem, Mahi Mahi is a wonderful beachside restaurant at the Hacienda Del Mar in Dorado. Manuel, Rebecca, Hector and the team serve up wonderful seafood dishes and make everyone feel like family. The grilled fish tacos, whole snapper, beans and rice are amazing! We enjoyed a traditional Christmas dinner of pulled pork, rice with pigeon peas, and macaroni salad. With a few days notice, they can even accommodate special requests. They prepared rack of lamb and sesame crusted tuna for us during our recent stay. Stayed at the Hyatt which has amazing grounds, pools and the ocean views and beach are top notch. Ambiance this place has and with plenty of room to take in the ocean view. This is primarily a bar and the busier they get, the less alcohol finds its way into your drinks. We got in late, cozied up to the bar had some great conversation with the bar tender and drinks were tasty. Order a beer and you know what ya got! So let's talk food....... It's basically a scan the bug number and wait your turn to get the attention of a bar tender. Food is typical bar fair that serves breakfast, which we didn't try. Edible and what was expected. The staff is friendly, personable and will take time to have a conversation, even if they are busy . During the day management wanders the grounds and you can tell they enjoy what they do. Bottom line, you're in paradise so that makes up for anything else you might think is missing. Rating is for bar service and not so much a place to eat, I will give it another shot for dinner. Side note: This is the only restaurant at the resort, but the fact you eat or drink and have a beach attendant set you up a lounge and umbrella and watch the waves roll in is why I am here in the first place. read more

A delightful restaurant attached to the Hyatt Residence Hacienda Del Mar but open to the public. The restaurant has seating at a bar and at tables facing the beach. No inside seating but given the weather that's not a problem. Breakfast is good with lots of variety. Lunch and dinner are very good. The fish and seafood are fresh and tasty with lots of variety. The meat dishes are good as well. You can get better hamburgers elsewhere but the hot dogs are good and the other sandwiches very tempting.
