Do yourself a huge favor and pass on even trying to deal with Wayne and his signature crew. Rude, disrespectful, overcharging, dishonest to name a few qualities of that interaction. He is a sweet talker in the beginning. But good luck getting him on the phone once your property is in his possession and he is billing you several times more than estimated after severely damaging your furniture. A truck from this company backed into my employers fence. My co worker yelled at them. What were they doing?! And the guy was rude and nasty to her! She told them they knocked the fence back and ran over plants. The guy got off truck with nasty attitude. Smacked the fence and said...there I fixed it!. And they took off. No apology just obnoxious. My co worker said she thought they were middle eastern. They didn't speak Spanish. I called the company. A lady said the manager was busy and I told her what happened. Said there were three trucks working in la jolla. This happened on Castellana Rd. She said he would call back. Never did. I tried taking pictures of the truck but they were moving quickly because they saw me come out. I wouldn't do business with these people. read more

We needed to move a heavy and delicate dining table as well as a leather sectional. The disassembly, handling, packing, and re-assembly done by the movers was top-notch. Unfortunately, there was dishonesty on the part of the owner, as the initial quote given to me was 2.5 times less than the final invoice, and that's after they had gone back & adjusted it because I complained. The other thing is that the movers took much longer to drive to the new place, and of course we were billed for the time. Not a 'clean' transaction, I would not recommend them. read more

This is a shout-out to Bryan and Matt from Mahogany Run, who this morning delivered a split king Saatva bed with a Lineal Adjustable Base to our new home in San Diego. They carefully carried 4 very large, heavy and bulky items from the street to our upstairs bedroom. The base required a fair amount of set up, and they handled everything quickly and expertly, and they could not have been nicer to deal with! It's ran very efficiently top to bottom and the owner Wayne emphasizes QUALITY in everything we do beginning to end since we work for a long list of very high end clients and we do everything from Residential packing and moving to Commercial staging and product assembly. The team is great, strong and experienced drivers and install technicians, Mike runs the warehouse like it's his pride and joy, Chad and Vanessa the King and Queen of customer service and support and of course Wayne the man behind it all, the cornerstone of the operation. He is always there ready to hold you accountable but also is always there ready to help when you need it. I worked here at Mohogany run delivery. Let me tell you why I think this place deserves this 1 star. I only worked for 3 days till they stopped calling me in. They called me in and sent me right back home before I could clock in on the 4th day and never had me return to work. Was on the bus 2 hours every day to get there on time. And 2 hours to get home. They didn't fire me until after complaining that I haven't worked in let's say about 12 days. They fired me on text message and did not pay me until the pay day rather then the normal 72 hours. On top on that I was never put into the system so I worked under the table, which was very odd. I was always had a middle man to communicate with the boss because the assistant would never let me talk to the boss directly or give me a phone number to reach him. I just had a new organic mattress set delivered from Saatva Mattress and the delivery company organized by Saatva was Mahogany Run Delivery. They do "white glove" delivery which means they are extra careful! Jeff and Arji, the two delivery guys were amazing. They called me ahead to confirm they were on their way, arrived within the assigned delivery time. Brought the large mattress set up two flights of stairs, both with a very tight turning radius at the top, and did so with great caution so as not to damage my walls. They installed the mattress, removed the old one and all the wrapping. It was all so smooth and painless! Well done Mahogany Run Delivery, with special thanks to Jeff and Arji. We have used this company to move us in the past and really were very happy with how well they moved us, and very professional. This last move was not the case, the guys they sent out were not organized and damaged our couch. When I called the company to express our dissatisfaction they were not helpful. We have a two bedroom apartment and it took 9 and half hours to move us, the last time with the same furniture was 5 hours. They blamed the elevator, the fact that elderly people needed the elevator, that they could not get furniture in the elevator etc etc, although this had never been a problem in the past. They won't even take responsibility for the damaged couch. read more

We have also coordinated 9 specific jobs this year with them bringing in our clients' rugs for washing and repair when there has been delicate or large furniture to move. We have been in business 3 decades and finding a moving/handling company that we could rely on has always been a nightmare, so when several designers recommended them to us we decided to give them a try. With every order we have had nothing but positive feedback, and in my direct contact with them I have found the company to be very organized, incredibly accommodating, and absolutely professional. In the field they have been very considerate and careful with other people's furnishings, and quick to lay out protective mats and even taking shoes off (or wearing shoe covers) to be mindful of the flooring. Very, very unprofessional. I traveled from Phoenix to San Diego to receive my armoire to be delivered by Mahogany Run. They blew my delivery off, not once, but TWICE. No phone call, nothing. I traveled back to Phoenix WITHOUT my armoire being delivered. As a professional Interior Designer, I would NEVER recommend using Mahogany Run. read more

This company is extraordinary! They arrived promptly, and hit the ground running! I thought I would have time to clean and pack small things, but they moved so quickly that I had a hard time keeping up with them. They handled my things with truly impressive care, but they were so experienced that they did it all quickly, none-the-less. I truly appreciated this HIGH level of service. They are also super nice people and very easy going. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs help moving. They do it all. They have all the supplies needed, can help you pack if you like, or can just show up, load and move you. They also have a storage facility if you need that. They even went around and put felt pads on all my furniture so they wouldn't scratch my new floors! We used Mahogany Run Delivery to inspect, deliver and install some furniture to our new home in San Diego. They seemed nice on the phone but this company has thieves for employees. They installed a bed frame in our upstairs master bedroom and stole my Rolex watch that I enjoyed for some 40 years out of a chest of drawers. Imagine people rummaging through your personal belongings. Wayne Back, owner, refused responsibility and actually commented that one of his workers was very suspicious of his co-worker when working in our bedroom and refused to work with him again. I was actually encouraged that maybe he would do the right thing and reimburse me but he said he didn't have the money. He also said his employees have never stolen anything since he has been in business. He is probably still saying this even after my watch was stolen. Don't make the mistake we made....find someone else to do your moving and delivery needs. Or, at the very least, don't leave them unattended! read more
