Their quote was completely itemized--which I appreciated--and ended up being well under every other retail bid I received. Two people really made the difference: Mary and Bolo. Mary is a literal pro when it comes to the insurance side of things. She worked tirelessly on the supplements to ensure we maximized our RCV payout from our insurance. She caught things the adjuster missed and helped us get the settlement we actually needed to do the job right. Bolo, the project manager, was extremely responsive and reasonable throughout the entire build. Whenever a technical issue came up--even complex stuff like electrical circuit stability or specific plumbing heights--he was there to talk it through and get it handled. One thing I will say for people considering them: you need to be the kind of homeowner who has the capacity to stay on top of the work. If you know exactly what you want and you're willing to stay involved in the day-to-day details, C2C is an incredible solution. It's a partnership, and because I stayed engaged, we were able to hit a level of quality that usually costs twice as much. The house looks amazing (see the photos of the Blue Thunder Quartzite and the Jade tile!). They were fair, they were fast, and most importantly, they were responsive. Specifically, they subbed out the demo portion to another company which incurred more costs and thus lead to rejection of payment by insurance company. Or rather, it was ruled as costs extending beyond ordinary expenses. Had it been included with the mitigation equipment, the insurance would've likely accepted it, as it did last time. The actual work performed by everyone was great in the end, just as it had been last time. Everything was remediated properly and more importantly, timely. Brandon the PM on mitigation along with David the PM on the restoration side were great, with David being the most responsive and communicative PM I've ever worked with. Meaning, updates everyday, as promised. That was the best part of the whole project for me as an anxious homeowner. I will say that my own insurance agent didn't help matters either in this case. He was super hard to work with and eventually C2C had trouble reaching him. This also soured the whole experience as everyone worked to track him down by phone and to prove that all expenses were legitimate. I'm on the fence as to whether to use C2C again for mitigation. Would not hesitate to use them for restoration though.

Before anything else, their first responder, Christian, did a quick health survey -- asthma, allergies, immune compromised household members? They came prepared. That meant a lot to our family and honestly set the tone for everything that followed. The crew arrived that afternoon, introduced themselves, walked through their scope for the day, and then proceeded to professionally protect every floor, wall, and personal item in sight before getting to work. They worked in 100-degree heat, in a garage tent with industrial drying fans blasting, and stayed until 7pm on a Friday night. On a FRIDAY. These people have my respect forever. Each evening you get a full inventory and walkthrough of the day's work plus what's coming next. PMs arrived every afternoon to check progress. I'm convinced they swept up every last speck of dust before they left, the house was cleaner than before they arrived. The only reason I even went with them was because of the impressive plumber I met with that recommended them. They came that night and helped initiate the process of drying the next day. Noah Lopez was the rep and was my contact initially. I saw 3 restoration companies that day and 3 plumbers so I had a decent idea how of much water damage, estimated time of deconstruction and reconstruction. A lot of companies get a bad reputation because they try and tear up as much as possible and I thought Express Dry was different but I was proven wrong. After a few days of drying, they all of a sudden discovered that my tiles were 30-99% saturated and they had to rip them up which would add another 2 weeks of work. I was confused on how this was NOT spotted initially by them or any other company I saw that initial day of interviewing. Everyone commented on how I should be lucky that the tiles didn't get wet. So obviously I called BS on them. They tried several scare tactics by having me sign some hand written statement that I would be liable and having multiple try and convince me to remove the tiles. Thank God I got a second opinion and had an outside company return to check for water damage and they too once again confirmed that tiles weren't wet and even if they were, there are other options that don't involve tearing up the tile. I thought I was getting a company that looked out for me but they were obviously looking to rip off the insurance company and make money for them. Noah tried to convince me not to contact my insurance company myself and he would do it all for me but I'll glad I called my insurance while he was present. I think that made him upset because after that, he went from being pleasant to being irritated, especially after the process began and I attempted to contact him.
