My understanding of the agreement was that it required patients to resolve legal claims through arbitration rather than in court. I chose not to sign the agreement because I was not comfortable waiving my right to pursue past, present or future claims in court. As a result, I was informed that I could not be seen unless I signed it. I believe patients should carefully review any arbitration agreement before signing it and understand its legal implications. This requirement was significant enough that I decided to seek dermatology care elsewhere. I had previously referred several people to the former practice, Divine Dermatology, and have since let them know about this policy so they can make their own informed decisions.
