Leisure Tendencies Hazy IPA ($6.75 - 7.20% abv) from Level Beer (Portland, OR) - Mahoney's Public House
    Michael S.

Food wasn't great, but the beers and beerista were! There's no need to make jokes about the Mahoney's Public House food. It is the joke. Regardless, I was happy just drinkin' ma beers and musing as if the food was funny. * Buffalo Chicken Dip ($9.95 - 3 stars) 3 Cheeses ... and 3 stars ... with bits of Shredded Chicken and drizzles of Buffalo Sauce that might of been better as separate items than this mix. * The Italian Stallion Panini ($11.95 - 2 stars) Ain't gonna be no rematch with this sandwich because the Genoa Salami, Bacon, Mozzarella, Roma Tomato, and Sriracha Mayo was not a knockout. * Indoor Survival Hazy IPA ($6.75 - 5 stars) Everybody loves somebody .... and somebody's will love Everybody's Brewing (White Salmon, WA) cloudy ale dropping 6.75% abv and 35 ibu. * Leisure Tendencies Hazy IPA ($6.75 - 5 stars) Feelin' hazy 'n lazy? Well, relax and let your liver do all the work with this 7.20%-abv New England brew from Level Beer in Portland, OR. * Orange Whip "Juicy" Hazy IPA ($6.50 - 5 stars) Just like Tang, this Hazy IPA from Fortside Brewing (Vancouver, WA) actually "Contains 0% juice" ... yet, it is a "juicy" way to guzzle 60 ibu and 5.90% abv. Another reason, I'm a Mahoney's fan was the friendly, fast, and fabulous taptender behind the bar. Thank you for (seemingly) loving your job ... helping us all love some cold frosty beers on tap. I'll be back for the beers and cheer while laughing with (at) the food.

    The liquor menu....

I am not a fan of having to order at the counter. Food was wonderful. Lots of choice.

Food is good, tons of options for beers and ciders, plus several wine and cocktail options. Staff and atmosphere are pleasant yet casual.

The service was relatively inattentive. I stood at the bar trying to order a beer for a few minutes before the bartender, who was staring at their phone, even noticed me. The ambience gives budget fancy vibes and the decor is a bit kitsch. I recommend sitting at a table instead of the cheap couches.

I signed up with a Sip & Paint class being held here. It looked like a beautiful painting and my sister and daughter were both interested in attending with me. There was a big turn out for the class. I felt we were packed in like sardines, so no room for food, but my sister and I ordered the Blueberry Lemon drop..it was delicious! My daughter got some beer on tap, and I believe she enjoyed it. We decided to order food after the class. Towards the end of the class, the lady across from us ordered some type of meat plate. My sister and daughter eat meat, they thought it looked and smelled good. So after class, we headed over to the lower tables to order food.y sister and daughter ordered the meat plate, not sure what it was. They said theirs didn't look as good as the lady's..it was on the burnt side. We got spinach artichoke dip with crostini, and asked for chips, also the baked Brie with pita and a jam of some sort. The only vegan part of that was the chips and pita and jam. There weren't a lot of vegan/ vegetarian options. My sister got bread pudding to go, and she was surprised there was bacon on top. She didn't like that. She also sent me a photo of the canned beverage that she took home, it had an expiration date from 8/18/25. I'm sure it was fine. I will mention that it's a beautiful space with comfortable seating. Ample parking.

Hands down Best Reuben & French dip anywhere. Eggs Benedict…read morewas a great positive surprise. Very disappointed prime rib dinner was entirely luke warm. So... that's my food experience. Service is hit and miss, mostly miss. Every time I've been there they take a long time to actually come to the table. When they do, they're friendly enough. But they aren't great at checking back to see if you need anything. The entire time the cold prime rib dinner night, once the food was delivered, no one came back. Waitstaff ignores you unless you're a regular. But there's one guy there who is a better server than the rest. Every time - every single time - I've had to wave someone down to get the check. I typically go when it's less than half full, so service shouldn't be slow. Ambiance - like a tavern. Torn vinyl seats, doors are hard to open, could be really cool if they did some updates. But seriously - you won't find a better Reuben or French dip anywhere. That's why 4-stars.

I used to come to 99 Saloon & Grill pretty regularly, but each visit has been a little more…read moredisappointing than the last. Unfortunately, my most recent visit sealed the deal -- I won't be returning. When we arrived, there were only about 6 diners total, yet service was already stretched thin with just one waitress/bartender handling around 30 guests shortly after. Our food came out completely cold. We ordered nachos, and the chips were soft all the way through -- no crunch at all. I've honestly had warmer food from a Taco Bell drive-thru after a 10-minute drive. Service was just as frustrating. My drink sat empty before our food even arrived, and I didn't receive a refill until after I had already finished eating. To top it off, several menu items and toppings were unavailable. I had to change my original order because they were "out" of multiple things, including most of the nacho toppings. After we left, my husband said he wanted chicken nuggets and ice cream from McDonald's -- which pretty much sums up how unsatisfied we were. Update: We ended up going to McDonald's, and the chicken nuggets tasted better than the meals we had at 99 Saloon & Grill. They were also significantly hotter -- even after a 3-mile drive home. I understand places can have off days, but this felt like a consistent decline that finally hit rock bottom.
