I used to come to 99 Saloon & Grill pretty regularly, but each visit has been a little more disappointing than the last. Unfortunately, my most recent visit sealed the deal -- I won't be returning. When we arrived, there were only about 6 diners total, yet service was already stretched thin with just one waitress/bartender handling around 30 guests shortly after. Our food came out completely cold. We ordered nachos, and the chips were soft all the way through -- no crunch at all. I've honestly had warmer food from a Taco Bell drive-thru after a 10-minute drive. Service was just as frustrating. My drink sat empty before our food even arrived, and I didn't receive a refill until after I had already finished eating. To top it off, several menu items and toppings were unavailable. I had to change my original order because they were "out" of multiple things, including most of the nacho toppings. After we left, my husband said he wanted chicken nuggets and ice cream from McDonald's -- which pretty much sums up how unsatisfied we were. Update: We ended up going to McDonald's, and the chicken nuggets tasted better than the meals we had at 99 Saloon & Grill. They were also significantly hotter -- even after a 3-mile drive home. I understand places can have off days, but this felt like a consistent decline that finally hit rock bottom. read more

We have had several meals here for several years. My favorite is the steaks.. I can't speak to the drinks because I don't drink alcohol, but the ice tea is great. A lot of the menu is really just bar food a little on the greasy side but definitely filling. They have live music sometimes and often you can watch live sports at the bar not a bad place to stop at if you were on Highway 99. read more

Dropped in for breakfast and bloody mary's, the food was pretty good. I wasn't a super fan of my chicken fried steak but the gravy was sublime I could have eaten a huge bowl of it. I tasted the hollandaise sauce on my friends eggs benny it was flavorful and a good consistency. The staff here were great got treated like a local and quick service. We ended up staying quite a while playing pull tabs. And had a few drinks. This place is pretty cool I would totally stop here again. read more

Hands down Best Reuben & French dip anywhere. Eggs Benedict was a great positive surprise. Very disappointed prime rib dinner was entirely luke warm. So... that's my food experience. Service is hit and miss, mostly miss. Every time I've been there they take a long time to actually come to the table. When they do, they're friendly enough. But they aren't great at checking back to see if you need anything. The entire time the cold prime rib dinner night, once the food was delivered, no one came back. Waitstaff ignores you unless you're a regular. But there's one guy there who is a better server than the rest. Every time - every single time - I've had to wave someone down to get the check. I typically go when it's less than half full, so service shouldn't be slow. Ambiance - like a tavern. Torn vinyl seats, doors are hard to open, could be really cool if they did some updates. But seriously - you won't find a better Reuben or French dip anywhere. That's why 4-stars. read more

First time here. I told the waitress this was our first time in. She was very plaisent, told our drink order and they came right away. about 15mins later a male waiter showed up and took our dinner order and I had prime rib $46 my wife had a sandwich with soup. They never showed up. After about 15mins I found the waitress and said our soap and salad never came. I would like them before our food shows up. In a few mins here came our food. I told the waiter I knew this was going to happen. He said nothing and walk away. The prime rib was 80% fat 20% eatable meat. The waitress came by and ask how everything was. I told her the food was terrible. Service even as bad. She apologized and said she will adjust the food bill. Then explained the waiter just started he had only worked a 4hr shift before this was his first shift with her. It was just her and him. That's no excuse. When he brought me the bill I told him how bad the prime rim was. My wifes prime rib sliders had lots of fat. He said he didn't cook it. I said the service was just as bad. Their will be NO Tip Tonight. Under tip line I left SORRY the food and service was about a 2 out of 10 at best. Left my cell number on the ticket incase the manager wanted to call me. We've been here 3 times over the years and I don't know why not more because they're as good or better than similar options nearby. Anyway, we came down from DBT the street last night because they had one person working on a Saturday night! However, 99 Saloon had 2 gals working - and they were awesome. They were moving fast, friendly, attentive and we got our food quick too. The atmosphere is similar to Billy Blues - maybe even a little better. Plenty of drink selections (good ones). Plenty of great food. Looking forward to coming back when there is music sometime. read more

This place has had a sub par reputation for quite a while. We recently gave it another chance and have been back several times in the past month. The staff has been friendly to us but very obvious there are several regulars who are on a first name basis. We have not had a bad meal! read more

Went there for dinner and ordered Rib eye steak. Server waited 10 minutes to let us know that they were out so we were fine with New York but at medium rare it was medium well. First time here. Ordered Eggs Benedict and it's pretty good, I'm enjoying it. First thing I noticed is the staff is VERY attentive and friendly. This is a casual and comfy establishment with everyday food and drinks with a really nice staff. Pricing and portions are spot on. So, back again the next morning for their eggs Benedict round 2-yummy!!! Plus I really love my waitress here. Staying at the hotel next door, I can't stand those free breakfasts at hotels, right? If you're hungry and have lots of time to sit and visit and don't mind feeling invisible, come on down. We sat a solid 15 mins or more before we were even acknowledged. The food was mediocre and the ambiance was fine. The waitress never made it back to our table until our meal was far finished but would have been nice to have the chance to request that ranch dressing that was ordered and not provided. She asked if my husband would like another drink to which his response was yes- 15 minutes ago. This is the last place we will consider for dinner again. Gave this place a second chance, had a very yummy chicken fried steak, drinks were on point, got the eggs Benedict and that was a bit of a disappointment, eggs were actual cooked fine but my muffin wasn't even toasted, the ham was so thin and so smokey it ruined the dish, and avocado under the egg was just weird, all in all was thinking how do you mess up a simple eggs bene like that. We always ride by this place and one day decided to go in. Both me and my sister came in and waited a good 10 - 12 mins before even getting noticed. When we finally were seated we got a menu and the waitress was off. Came back after 5 mins, asked what we wanted to drink so we gave her our drink order and told her we were ready to order dinner. The food I must say was pretty good, there was a live band playing. And now and then a lady would sing in a not so great voice but I admired her effort. Hwy 99 Grill Nice relaxed atmosphere. Pleasant patrons. No rowdiness. Country music playing, Cash, Denver, and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band on the play list. Very friendly staff. Jasmine served us. Tried a new-to-me refreshing drink Ketel One Oranje plus a crushed orange and seltzer. Seasoned crinkle cut fries and beer battered halibut were both perfectly crispy on the outside and hot/tasty inside. Coleslaw was fresh and crunchy. We sat and waited too long for service. We ordered prime rib. What a waste. The potatoes and veggies were cold and the prime rib was bland. We spent a lot of money and the server never even came to the table after they brought the food. We all ran out of water. Our daughter ordered a club sandwich and that was better than the steak. We also had to listen to the happy hour wasted Fred Meyer employees talk shit about customers and make racist remarks about coworkers. We will never eat there again. read more

PERFECT DIVE BAR First off great staff. Very, very, very attentive! Great drinks and not just bar food, Good Bar Food!! Breakfast Special is a deal. My wife had it with French Toast and links. Wow this place is a mess. I came in for breakfast and there were a bunch of old retired folks in there (well maybe 7 total) drinking at 10am. I came in and sat at the bar. The old lady (bartender) came up and asked if I wanted a drink. I ordered a water and it tasted like chlorine. I heard the bartender lady talking with her husband who was on the other side of the bar and or the owner and the other patrons and her telling them that she was sick as a dog last night. Well she was still sick and working!!! She continues on coughing and hacking while going back and forth into the kitchen. She came over and took my order and I ordered the eggs Benedict. At this point I did not want to have anything to do with her. All I could do was hope and pray that she didn't serve me the food knowing that she was sick. Well sure enough here she comes with my eggs Benedict sick as a dog. Needless to say the eggs Benedict was really not that great and I guess I really didn't expect to be that great considering the place I was at.
