Great little neighborhood bar and it's got really good cocktails and food. Service was excellent and everyone was really friendly. It was a very good vibe.

Nice place inside. Order at the bar. Looked to have a large patio, but it was raining so we sat inside. The bartender was really nice. I ordered a Bloody Mary. It might've been no frills but easily one of the best ones I've ever had. The breakfast pizza was good. We both agreed it needed more gravy or a side of gravy to dip it in. You can only order the breakfast pizza on Saturdays and Sundays. We'll be back again to try more items

My buddy said have you been here they have pizza, so of course I was gonna go. We walked up to the bar to get a drink & the bar tender free poured with no measuring cup & that is a plus in my book - oh and the old fashioned was good! Now onto the bar style pizza: Hot honey which had that , red sauce , jalapeños, it was a lil crunchy as bar pies are , sweet & spicy went together well. I definitely should have blown on it cuz it was right out of the oven haha. We also got the combo which had red sauce , pepperoni, sausage, red onion, black olives , green peppers, mushrooms & pineapple. Again a good crisp and overall good pizza I'll definitely be back

Met friends here last night for their grand opening. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. This is a women-owned business. You can tell a lot of hard work went into renovating the space. The ladies are super nice and the bar is super cool. Love the leather barrel chairs at the bar and the neon sign on the wall. It's pretty small inside, but they have the tables set up well for efficiency. They also have a nice large outdoor seating area with heaters to keep warm. Love the crow figure tops on the poles with string lights. You order at the bar, they give you a number sign to put at your table for food, and they bring it to you. Pretty efficient processes, but the line did get long to pay your bill before leaving. The beers were good. My husband enjoyed the Icicle Alpenhaze. It was a light and somewhat sweet beer. My friend ordered the Nightwing cocktail and it was yummy. I'm not usually a bourbon fan, but the blackberry and lemon flavors paired well. They have a decent variety of food on their menu, including pizzas, appetizers and desserts. We ordered the chips and salsa, pretzels with beer cheese fondue and a Margherita pizza. All the food was really good! The pizza had a nice thin crust which we prefer. We tried the raspberry cheesecake rolls with ice cream for dessert. They were super yummy! Overall a great first experience here. We'll definitely be back! Highly recommend.

I sat outside with my friend, very basic area on the side, would be better with a nice fence in, some hanging lights/plants, just a bit more ambiance. The door to get in and out to the outside seating is so heavy haha, I managed but I did see an older woman struggle. Margarita pizza was great, I always order extra red sauce but I will say it's not needed on this, perfect amount (now I know for next time). When food was brought out, we were not given plates, so we ate off napkins. The owner kindly gave me the dessert, which was good although I think switching from egg roll wrappers to wonton would be easier to eat (egg roll wasn't fully cooked and inside burst out making it messy) and offer a dipping sauce rather than having it drizzled on top. The place was clean, ladies working were very nice, and made me belly laugh at a conversation we had on our way out. I'll be back again FOR SURE, happy to see 2 dope chicks running a restaurant and excited to see it grow.

The drunken Grove is a great hole in the wall bar with fast service and friendly. They offer trivia night and other theme night during the summer. We will definitely be back for sure when we can sit on the outdoor patio place.

We finally stopped in for our first time tonight. They are always busy when we pass by, so we had to try it out before the end of summer. Tasha was very busy serving drinks to what seemed to be a never ending line of patrons. Everyone had smiles, including Tasha! Food was coming out of the kitchen pretty consistently and everyone I spoke with said it was good. We will definitely be back to try it out!

I'm fortunate to have some pretty awesome people in my life, and as such, came the invitation for dinner and a drink. I found myself here on my bday! We arrived at 6:30 on a Thursday evening - the location is easy to find and the parking lot was decent sized (even though it is shared with other businesses). We stroll in the front door (opting to eat indoors solely because the music playing was ), order our food and drinks at the bar, and within 20 mins, piping hot pizzas are delivered to our table. The combo was excellent, and I'm told the hot honey was on point. We had 2 orders of Dirty Bird tots (one was ordered with "extra beer cheese" which made for the ability to dip pretzels, pizza crusts, and anything else dippable, into the warm, cheesy goodness) and everyone agreed it was so good. The service was great, no complaints! Love that this is woman owned and so close to home. It is just what the reviews say - an upscale neighborhood bar with crafty cocktails and tasty food offerings. I'll certainly be back to try out some other stuff!

I ordered the seared ahi appetizer that came with a Cajun sauce. The seared ahi I expected to have some warmth to it but it was almost ice cold and the sauce was ice cold so if it were a tad warm it would have been much better but still delicious. They then charged me $9 when the salad was $8.50 on the menu. The bartender shrugged when I told him that. They did not offer to make it right. If they were out of chicken strips they needed to tell me that WHEN I ORDERED! Who wants a salad with their beer?!? Be sure to read your receipt! These guys will rip you off. UPDATE: Someone replied below stating, 'Its 50¢ difference cathy.' They completely missed the point. This was never about 50 cents; it was about the poor attitude of the staff and the lack of basic customer service. The Spot is a true Vancouver neighborhood bar, and people have been coming here for decades. Owner…read moreAlan works incredibly hard for this place. He shows up, he cares, and he has made real efforts to improve the atmosphere. The recent remodel has made the bar lighter, brighter and more welcoming. There are also some genuinely excellent bartenders who represent what The Spot should be. Cindy is phenomenal: professional, attentive and accommodating. Dylan will always hold a special place in my heart because she was the first bartender who took care of Jordan and me after we moved to Vancouver. She immediately made us feel welcome. I have never forgotten that, and that first experience is one of the reasons The Spot became special to me. Unfortunately, my experiences with Ashley have been the complete opposite. Ashley has only been working there for roughly a month, yet in that short time she is already alienating regular customers and damaging the environment Alan is working so hard to build. I have dealt with her more than once, and the service has been consistently rude, dismissive and unprofessional. A couple of Thursdays ago, Ashley was covering for Cindy while Cindy was on vacation. I came in to meet our normal Thursday lunch group, and the difference in atmosphere was unbelievable. Ashley was inattentive and rude to multiple guests. This was not simply one bad interaction between her and me. Other people were having problems with her service and attitude as well. The experience became uncomfortable enough that I eventually left. Today sealed it for me. I had some time before getting tires put on my truck, so I stopped by The Spot for breakfast and a drink. When I walked in and saw her behind the bar, I genuinely considered turning around and leaving, but I decided to give it another chance. That was a mistake. I sat down at the bar. Ashley looked directly at me and continued talking with another guest while she ate her food and got herself something to drink. She made no effort to greet me, take my order or even acknowledge that I was waiting to be served. Then, while I was still sitting there, I watched her smirk with another guest and make comments about me. Eventually, I got up and walked out. I walked into a neighborhood bar ready to spend money, yet the bartender made the experience so uncomfortable that I left without ordering anything. That is not being busy. That is not having an off morning. That is not a personality difference. That is a failure of basic hospitality and professionalism. Bartending is a service profession. Customers do not have to be treated like friends, but they should be acknowledged, treated respectfully and given basic service. You do not have to like every person who walks through the door, but you do have to act professionally. Making a paying customer feel as though being served is some privilege you are granting them is completely backwards. What makes this so concerning is how quickly this has happened. Ashley has been there approximately ONE MONTH, and she is already making longtime customers uncomfortable enough that they are leaving, avoiding her shifts and talking about how unpleasant the atmosphere becomes when she is behind the bar. That should concern anyone who cares about this business. Alan is trying to move The Spot forward. He remodeled it, made it brighter and more welcoming, and continues to show up for his business. Cindy, Dylan and the other professional bartenders have spent years building relationships with customers and creating the neighborhood atmosphere that keeps people coming back. It should not take one new bartender a matter of weeks to start undoing that work. This is bigger than whether Ashley likes me personally. I do not expect my bartender to be my friend. I expect professionalism, respect and service when I walk into an establishment as a paying customer. I will not spend my money somewhere while being deliberately ignored, mocked or made to feel unwelcome by the person whose job is to provide hospitality. At this point, if Ashley is working, I will go somewhere else. Based on what I have personally witnessed, I would highly recommend that anyone planning to visit during the morning shifts check who is behind the bar first. When Cindy is there, when Dylan is there, or when one of the other professional bartenders is working, The Spot can be exactly what a great neighborhood bar should be. That is the bar I know and the reason I keep coming back. But what I have experienced with Ashley is unacceptable. The most frustrating part is that I know The Spot is better than this. Alan deserves better representation behind his bar. The regulars who have supported this place for years deserve better. The Spot should be building loyalty, not allowing a bartender who has barely been there a month to drive loyal customers out the door.

The first thing that stood out was the service. There was only one server working the dining room during a busy lunch rush, and you would never have known it. She handled every table with professionalism, confidence, and genuine warmth. She made me feel like I was the only guest in the restaurant, checking on me often without ever making me feel rushed or forgotten. It honestly felt more like being welcomed into someone's home than eating at a restaurant. She deserves a lot of recognition because she absolutely elevated my entire experience. I wish I had gotten her name because she earned every bit of this compliment. For my meal, I ordered king crab legs, snow crab legs, shrimp, and crawfish. I chose to mix all of the seasonings because I thought it would create the biggest flavor. Unfortunately, the food itself was much blander than I expected. The potatoes, corn, shrimp, and especially the king crab legs needed a lot more seasoning. Considering the price of king crab, I was hoping for a much bolder flavor. The snow crab legs were probably the highlight of the seafood. When my server noticed I wasn't completely satisfied, she immediately stepped in to help. She brought me extra garlic butter and additional Old Bay seasoning, and that made a huge difference. She didn't ignore the issue or make excuses--she genuinely wanted me to enjoy my meal, and I really appreciated that. Overall, I'd give the service a perfect 10/10. The food, based on this visit, didn't quite live up to the hype for me, but the menu is huge and there are still plenty of things I'd like to try. Because of how well I was treated, I'll definitely be back and I'll be hoping to get the same server again. Great hospitality can make all the difference, and she absolutely proved that today.
