Always friendly, they provide excellent greenhouse and nursery advice from a highly knowledgeable staff. They can diagnose your plant, tree or shrub issues, just bring in a picture or specimen. Their return policy, though I never returned anything, is pretty generous. If you can't find what you need, they will order it for you. Nice plants and products but I paid $90 for a completely dead Christmas tree. Their advertising touted their fresh trees and owning their own tree farm. On 2/15 I called to see what time the Tewksbury mahoneys closed. The girl who answered the phone told me 6pm. I went there at 5:10 and the 2 men working had the lights off and was about to walk out because they actually closed at 5pm. They were so understanding about the mistake anbout what time the store closed they opened the store back up so I could get my plants that I needed to get. I wish I got their names. they helped me get what I needed to get and were so nice staying longer than they needed to making sure I was happy. They were both so wonderful. read more

This is the Route 38 location. Fantastic place to get flowers. I always go here for orchids as they have a great variety and they actually tend to live! I have also purchased xmas trees from here, but this years didn't last long. Service is always top notch, even if they are a bit hard to find sometimes. This place is a mixed bag. It's a specialty garden center, so you can expect to pay more for what you'd find at a big box store. I have bought some hard-to-kill indoor plants here and have still managed to keep them alive. They have a good selection of indoor and outdoor flowers and plants, veggies and herbs for gardens, garden accessories, etc. Most recently, a plant I bought had a spider mite problem, which was pretty gross. They have a cute selection of little pots for small cuttings and propagating new plants. Not cheap, but I do like browsing around here and picking up new plants. read more

I think weekend visits to the Tewksbury store are best, as new staff and those training them, allow more flexibility for staff to help others. I agree with others' reviews, that Mahoney's is expensive, as other garden centers are (buy your soil at Home Depot). Just my two cents. Weekend staff is usually helpful, once they get oriented to what is where... NOT an easy job! But all are friendly. read more

Absolutely huge selection of plants, pots, and everything between that one would need to either add some greenery to their home or plant a full size garden. In the warmer months the plants and flowers are spread out throughout the parking lot and it's quite fun and charming to walk through. It definitely can be made into a fun little day-trip considering there's so much to see. The staff are also very kind and helpful and always ready to answer your questions! The plants are beautiful. This place is way too overpriced and expensive. You basically have to be rich to buy anything at this store. Their artificial Christmas trees cost $500-$1000. I dont see how any working class people can afford to buy anything here. Then today I found a coupon on their website for $10 off $30 or more yet this was never offered at the store so we paid full price. Very greedy, not at all like a garden store should be. Dont support this place and go to a cheaper store that still cares about quality where they actually care about customers. read more

We are regular customers at Mahoney's and they have always carried beautiful flowers and plants. The night before Thanksgiving I found out I needed a bridal bouquet and boutonniere for my brother and sister-in-law the next day, I went right there. Horrible after sales service. My wife tried to return some flower pots (full price item) which were purchased on a credit card and the owner would only offer in store credit. The next day, we showed up with the receipt and the owner still said she wouldn't credit the credit card. I've been going there for 20+ years. I have a friend that recently moved to Tewksbury, and this was the closest garden center around. I was specifically looking for house plants with expectations that they would be pricey because non large garden franchise stores tend to have expensive costs for high quality plants. Boy was I wrong, the selection if the plants is amazing (especially in house plants, considering that I visited early spring). Very affordable plants for reasonable prices and the staff is heartwarmingly friendly and knows what they're doing as well. I left the store happily with my two variegated golden pothos (absolutely obsessed with them). read more

My husband went into the Mahoney's Too in Tewksbury on Christmas Eve to purchase a flower bouquet. He noticed that the chimeneas (fire pits) were on sale and decided to purchase one as a surprise to use that night. He paid for the chimenea and flowers and went to load it into his truck. When he did the Chimenea broke, yes it was his fault (it was HEAVY) but it was an accident. What bothered me is that No one offered to help him carry it out or get it into his truck. He brought it home and we immediately called the Tewksbury location to explain what happened and see if they could do anything to help us out. We spoke to the manager on duty (I believe that her name is Melinda), and she told us that she and the staff working witnessed him break it while he was in the parking lot. She told us that if we could get back there before they closed at 4pm (it was approx 3:45) that she would replace it with a new one. We left our home on Christmas Eve, while our family was sitting down to dinner and drove back to Mahoney's. When we got there, that same manager changed her mind and told us she would not replace it and that she can not do returns on "sale items". If that is the case, WHY DID SHE MAKE US DRIVE BACK!? Had she said that on the phone, we would not have gone all the way back. She also continued to say over and over again, that the whole staffed "watched him break it in the parking lot..." When I asked her why no one offered to help him carry it out to his car, her response was "well, we were busy". Though, at the time my husband was making the purchase, he said only one other person was behind him in line. What horrible horrible service!! Not only did they not offer to help him carry out the heavy fire pit, no one offered to help him get it in his truck and then they WATCHED him break it and said absolutely nothing. Then to top it all off, told us they would replace it if we dove back (which we did) only to be told when we got there that they wouldn't replace it. We (myself and other family members) have bought our trees, mulch, pumpkins (and other yard type things) there many times and based on that service alone would NEVER return. In addition, I will be sure to spread the word about the pathetic customer service, especially on a holiday! In a time when small business are looking to preserve their returning customer base, Mahoney's may want to rethink who they have running their stores. There are many other places in the area that sell garden and outdoor supplies most with better prices. read more

This was always my favorite place to buy flowers. I always go and grab 3 or 4 of the 3 for $10 bunches and have them wrapped together --- now they've started charging $2.50 to wrap flowers??? Are you serious? Too bad because they have great flowers but there's other places (like every other place) that will wrap without making me pay more than I already am read more

I'm actually writing this review for the Mahoney's in Chelmsford but Yelp doesn't have their profile. Here's the deal. I'm a low maintenance bride. No, really. I am. My wedding is six weeks away and I decided I'd like my bridal party to have flowers. I think it'd be cool. I called Feeney's Florist in chelmsford (where I'm from) and the lady actually made me cry. I know what I'd like the party to have - I've picked flowers based on whether they are in season in winter. Basically Feeney's didn't appreciate that I wanted more than roses. I called Mahoney's next and the woman on the phone, Lindsay, was incredible. I want Amaryllis for part of the party but was really hoping to get input on what would look nice for the rest. I'm not a flower person. But, she seemed to really enjoy that I was asking for her opinion and was ready with several really great suggestions immediately. In short, Mahoney's employs passionate and interested people. It was clear to me she loved what she does and she's got a good eye. That's just good business to me. Don't go on a Friday afternoon. We walked around the nursery for about 20 minutes looking for a few large shrubs for our front yard. After a couple of employees walked right past us, my husband went inside to ask someone for help. He was told an employee would be sent out, so we waited for another 10 minutes or so. There were barely any customers so this seemed odd. One employee was too busy flirting with a young man following her around, another made eye contact with us and kept walking. Instead of offering to remediate the situation as we left the store, the woman behind the counter just said "sorry." Needless to say, we'll be taking our business elsewhere. read more

I called yesterday for a same day delivery and they turned around a great arrangement for $42! (50 total with tax and delivery). My sister in law loved them! No need to call Winstons or Teleflorists. Went here today to buy flowers for my flower boxes and flower gardens. Usually they have different kinds of flowers that other nurseries don't carry. I ended up just getting impatiens, petunias and 3 geraniums. I was looking for flowers in 6 packs and there were only a few kinds. No Marigolds, no Sweet Williams, couldn't find the Morning Glories. Probably shouldn't get them here anyway. Last year I bought two pots of Heavenly Blue Morning Glories and none of them survived. We used Miracle Gro soil, watered them regularly and gave them plant food and they still just died. Very disappointing. Will have to check out Tewksbury Greenery, Home Depot and Lowe's to try to find the flowers I used to get at Mahoneys. Where were all the other varieties you used to carry??? I ordered an arrangement for a 50th wedding anniversary last week. I specifically ordered the "White Garden" arrangement that they have on-line. When I received a picture of the delivered flowers it was nothing remotely close to what I had ordered. In fact the arrangement had pink roses, yellow lillies and a tropical flower in the middle. When I called today to ask what happened, I was talked down to by a man who said they didn't have the flowers for the White Garden arrangement and they try to come as close as possible with what they have in stock. He was rude and also stated that they are only a "small flower shop without a lot of stock". This is summer time and who doesn't have white roses??? I didn't even receive a call to tell me they were changing what I ordered. He had no interest in what I had to say and was very dismissive. I will never recommend their florist and am very disappointed that the gift I ordered was not what they received.....not even remotely close. read more

On the recommendation of the local restaurant catering manager, I called from CA for 3 floral arrangements for a rehearsal dinner in Andover MA. The phone service was great and the floral arrangements were beautiful and delivered directly to the restaurant. I was very pleased with the original arrangements containing both hydrangeas and fall colors in a low centerpiece for rectangular tables. Since the groom's family was mostly out of state, the 3 guests who got to take the floral arrangements home were also quite pleased! read more

I'm a novice gardener, starting back to a few years ago when my grandmother passed on. She loved to garden! She grew eggplant, Tomatoes, and other veggies that my family and I would eat! I wanted to do the same this summer and the first place I went to was this Mahoney's! The employees there are kind, knowledgeable and patient no matter how many questions you ask, (believe me, I ask a lot of questions haha,) and besides that, the greenhouses are beautiful and pet friendly!!
