I came here in a panic. I had made an appointment at a different salon to get my nails done for my wedding, and the woman doing my manicure said she had run out of time to finish my nails (which were not complicated- I just asked for a full set with neutral chrome and pearl decals on the ring fingers) and that I was going to need to come back later to get them finished. Obviously I wasn't ok with that especially since my wedding is in two days so I have a lot to do. So I came here as a walk in a bit panicked and asked them to finish the nails for me. They were so incredibly sweet and took great care of me right away, my nails are perfect now, and I feel like they charged me a very good price for the work they did. After such great customer service they have definitely gained a new customer :) read more

There is only one way to describe this nail salon and that "My Pretty Little Secret" . I have a feeling I might regret writing this review because they will definitely get busier but I could never keep a secret . The quality of work and how long my mani/pedi lasts is unbelievable and I only do regular mani/pedi's not gel. The ladies here are super nice and amazing. They get you right in and if you're like me that you hate sitting for a long period of time they can do both so it cuts down your timeframe. The bonus for me is that the owner has a salon dog and he is so well behaved and sweet. He only makes a guest appearance occasionally but definitely the star of the salon. 10 out of 10 highly recommend!!! read more

I have been using Mai Nail Spa for more years than I can remember. So Happy that Lisa (owner) was able to survive the cruel covid shut-downs that crippled small businesses and left many unable to re-open. Over the years I have had Only positive experiences. Friendly greeting, good variety of nail polish colors and they never make fun of me when I want to try a new color on my toes! If a newer staff person isn't doing things quite how I expect I have had such great responses when I brought it up during the service. There is a very peaceful vibe in this shop, very positive, very helpful. Once in awhile I get lucky and there is a guy there who does the Most Amazing foot/leg massage as an added service. Worth it. Reminder to people who are having Pedicures. There is literally a Human Being sitting below you, hunched over Your Feet performing a nurturing service. Honestly horrible. Went here for a gel polish change. She rushed through the entire thing and the polish looks terrible, bubbly and uneven. Went to pay and she charged $30 FOR A POLISH CHANGE. I questioned the price and said that's because she had to clean up the nails which did not happen. Now I know why the place is never busy. read more

First time getting my nails done here, and overall it was a 7/10... the woman who did my SNS set was super sweet, and kind but her skills with the nail drill gave me mad anxiety. Ladies, you can agree when a nail tech is too aggressive with the power drill it can be painful :( I did not comment about it, wanted to let her do her thing... but my heart was racing when she went near cuticles.. after I had some small cuts and my cuticles were red :( Also, on some nails you can see the SNS powder only half way dipped. The set looks very pretty, yet my anxiety was terrible. the aggressive nail drill was very uncomfortable. I was assuming she felt rushed because the phone was ringing, walk in appointments, and seemed to be low staffed. It was a calm atmosphere, yet that technique she had w nail drill, killed me inside. Not sure why the rave reviews. Definitely not my experience. Clean shop. Hot rocks and towel are a nice addition for a regular pedicure. But he blew through cleaning my cuticles and barely filed and shaped my toenails. Entire pedicure was less than 30 minutes. Had to ask him to fix a crooked one and clean up more cuticles. Asked if he was good at designs and he laughed. Decided not to risk hating it. Then I took a photo to send to someone and saw this mess and made him clean them all which he didn't initially do. He said the problem was my phone. I said no, the problem is the nail polish all over my toes. Ugh. I live in Los Angeles so I won't be back regardless. I think another manicurist might be more thorough. Worth checking out. read more

Horrible experience! The owner lacks integrity and lied to my face. After trying to charge me for a nail polish service I did not receive, she proceeded to charge me $65 to remove gel polish from my toes and acrylic nails. The shop before AZ nail salon did an even worse job by layering my nail with so much polish that it took the ladies 45 minutes to get the polish off. However, I was cut and scratched with the tech nail drill three times. One time I even bled from being cut. The owner did not compensate me for scratching the top of my foot with her utensil or cutting me. Lastly, I still have polish left on my fingers and toes. Just a shame they got over on me like that! Oh, the worst thing of all, she dropped one of the pieces to her nail drill on the floor. But instead of sanitizing the piece, she picked it up and put it back in the same container as the rest of the pieces. I was beside myself with disgust. This place is just despicable. This is my all time favorite nail salon in Ahwatukee. The employees are so incredibly nice, make an effort to know your name and what you what done. I always go to get gel manicures and I have never been disappointed! Would recommend calling ahead to make sure they have time for you but they usually can take walk ins too!(My hands are dry in this photo but when I got them done yesterday they were not but I just have naturally dry skin). I would not go back here again. I went for dip powder nails and asked for matching. I was told to pick the color and they would match it. I should have stopped there and left. The color is not matching, may nails are not smooth the top coat wasn't applied evenly, it's on half the nail. One nail has a smudge on it and it's not because I bumped it, it's how the powder and top coat were applied. I didn't notice any of this until I left. I didn't call back and complain because I don't have time to go sit there for another 2.5 hours and shouldn't have to. It should be done right the first time!! Cost me $80 and it looks like I had them done a month ago. If you can't match the polish don't say you can!!!! read more

I have been going to Mai Nail Spa since they opened some years ago. They recently updated the facilitites. The ladies and gentleman there are very kind, friendly and competent at what they do. Given they're good a what they do, they sometimes are super busy. If your getting a pedicure they'll set you up and you have to wait a while. So I go on the weekends I am preparred to relax while I am waiting. I returned to them after trying another local spa, they fixed me up and I am glad to be back. read more

I had the most amazing pedicure with hot rock massage (heaven) while my daughter had her toes painted in a child sized salon chair with a connected tablet like tv. She was able to relax and watch a funny movie, allowing her toes to dry. The salon is decorated beautifully and very clean. The staff was extremely friendly and interactive. All TEN of my nails are lifting horribly after a NEW FULL SET, I spent 130 dollars plus 10 in tips for two full sets and two pedicures. My companion's nails looked fine, but mine are awful... I went in and requested the 33 dollars l spent on my nails, plus the 5 dollar tip the man did NOT deserve refunded and they absolutely refused. They said that they can fix them, but ONLY the guy who did a horrible job on them was allowed to fix them .... Why on Earth would I care to spend another 40+ minutes with him? 1. I said his work is shit and 2. His work is shit. What do I look like sitting there and hoping he does a good job after I've called him out? They wouldn't do a thing but offer me a 20 dollar refund on a 38 dollar job, how does that make sense? I even asked them to remove all of their product from my nail beds so that I can go someplace else & they refused, but they also refuse to give me the lousy 20 dollars without removing the nails. The only person available to even remove the nails is the guy who did the nails and he's acting like a 2 year old. "I'm not touching her nails" ... USE THIS SALON AT YOUR OWN RISK... POOREST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN AHWATUKEE AND HIGHEST PRICES.
