Jacky's Galaxy has been one of my steady go-to spots for years now. Before this North Providence location even existed, I used to be a regular at their old Mineral Spring Ave location back when it was open. Tuesday and Thursday nights, like clockwork. So I've been eating their food for a long time at this point, and one thing I can say is they've always been consistent. The food comes out hot, fresh, and reliably good every time. They also have a huge menu, which I appreciate because not everyone wants the same thing when you go out to eat. You can get sushi, classic Asian dishes, noodles, rice plates, appetizers, pretty much whatever mood you're in. If you like sushi especially, their sushi menu is honestly pretty strong. The restaurant itself has a modern look without feeling cold or overly trendy. Nice atmosphere overall, and there's plenty of parking in the back which makes life easier, especially on busy nights. Now for the couple things that keep it from being 5 stars for me. First, the service robot. I know some people probably think it's cute or futuristic or whatever, but personally I'm not a fan. It actually turned me off enough that I stopped going for a short period. I go out to dinner to interact with people, not Wall-E carrying my fried rice across the dining room. That said, I've been back multiple times since and it feels like they're using it less now, or at least less aggressively, which I appreciate. The other thing is the noise level. The dining room can get loud. Usually that doesn't bother me much, but if you're trying to have an actual conversation across the table sometimes you find yourself repeating things. Still, none of that has stopped me from going back. It's close to home for me in Lincoln, the food is consistently good, and they rarely miss the mark. I love the food here. We rushed to get there after high school graduation - like RUSHED. It was about 9PM so shortly before close. The place was pretty quiet - but its also just pretty. I got the French Crunchy roll and it was so damn good. I think their prices for the Sushi are extremelyyyyy reasonable. I have not had the robot deliver my food - but our human server was friendly, chill, efficient. Oh - and that Chicken skewer - its like a whole damn chicken breast. So huge! One of RI's top popular Asian restaurants! They have several locations: Bristol, Providence, North Providence. I used to go to the Cumberland location as a kid but it closed down, so find myself at one of their Providence County locations often. They have great combination lunch specials for a great deal during the weekday. I recently visited for dinner with friends and it was a perfect spot to impress out of town guests. The restaurant offered a warm welcome and had holiday decor and music outside by the koi fish pond, setting a nice tone for the dinner date! The crab rangoons were great, nice and crispy and came with duck sauce on the side. I would get my Mongolian beef plate crispy next time but it was tasty. The General Tao's was sweet and juicy and goes great with a side of rice. The Thai crispy wings had a nice kick and was juicy and cooked perfectly. Our waitress exceeded our expectations. A variety of rolls composed this dish, like the dragon maki, red dragon maki, and white dragon maki. All of them were a win, but I would return for the white dragon specifically. Fried Green Tea Cream: Lightly sweetened batter with a subtle matcha center - great dessert w/no complaints. Overall, it was a lovely experience. The atmosphere is fantastic, with enough space to seat many guests while maintaining an intimate, cozy vibe. I go to Jackie's pretty often with my family, so I've tried several of their main dishes as we usually eat family style. Last time we ordered the beef skewers, pineapple fried rice, seafood fried rice, coconut walnut shrimp, yellow curry shrimp, steak stir fry, miso soup, sushi & sashimi deluxe, the calamari, & the Spider maki roll. The portions are very generous, although some dishes could have used a bit more flavor. I definitely recommend ordering the fried rice to complement the rest of the dishes. The sushi presentation was nice and the fish was fresh. Their menu is extensive - there will be something for everyone. The restaurant itself is also beautiful, with complimentary lighting and colors that makes it feel like you are in a luxurious setting - especially the banquet room for parties over 6. Service was good but I'm disappointed for a few reasons: machine to make Pina colodas wasn't working (I could live with it if there were not other issues), didn't have the standard butterflied shrimp that I enjoy, asked if we wanted tea, no mention of a charge $1.25 a cup (didn't like the jasmine), and finally, wife asked for crispy noodles for her soup, $1.50 extra. I have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions to try their different foods. Their rice and meat entrée dishes are terrible. Their sushi is good. The main thing that had kept me coming back for as many years as I did was literally their pork gyoza. This was the best that I could find in Providence, they were thin and very crispy and always seasoned to perfection. However, they changed how they do it and now they use a much thicker wrap. Ordered take out from this yummy restaurant tonight. It was ready in 30 minutes. Prices are reasonable too. The only place to notate dietary restrictions is in a comment box under each item when ordering online. This has been hit or miss at most other restaurants. Sometimes they read that important little box and mostly they don't. I was delighted to see Jackie's receipt on the bag that noted everything I mentioned to veganize each dish. The best part was everything was vegan thanks to their attention to detail. No eggs, dairy, or fish sauce. If you're an omnivore, you have even more options. They have delicious sushi (a few veggie roll options), noodle dishes, and rice dishes. Not to mention plenty of apps. There are a number of Jackie's restaurants in our little state that are all quite good, but tonight I'm so pleased with this North Providence location. read more

The sushi here is amazingggg! Definitely recommended but I got the dinner Entre with chicken and steamed rice it was not good at all there was barely flavor . The chicken was cut up weird very thinly sliced but still no taste . The rice tasted more like quinoa which is not what I asked for . Great restaurant for fresh Chinese! Sat at the bar and got a few dishes to split. Nim chow was very fresh, I always ask for extra peanut sauce because it's so good! Service was the worst I've ever experienced. Cake here to grab something better than fast food before my pedicure. Waitress was out of it completely. I know people are dealing with things but this is my review of the restaurant. Waited an hour for nime chow. She got my order wrong after I told her 3 times to make sure she got it right. Been going to Jacky's for years for dine in and takeout. They are the gold standard for takeout in my opinion. The restaurant is clean and comfortable and has a modern style. They also have a well laid out parking lot and handicap ramp. Don't forget to check out the koi pond! For our super bowl party it has been Jacky's takeout for years and this year was no exception. Beef and vegetable lo mein was excellent as was the beef fried rice, but secret dish is the Lemon Chicken! Jacky's lemon chicken is a combination of a perfectly cooked chicken breast and sweet lemon sauce! By far the best in the state! The servers and the takeout staff are always pleasant and prompt. Overall I had a good experience here recently for dinner with a friend. The ambiance is nice, and service is good. Parking is plentiful behind the building. My pineapple mojito was underwhelming (with hardly any pineapple flavor), as was the hot and sour soup (not my favorite rendition in the state), although I enjoyed the nime chow and spicy tuna rolls very much. Overall, this is a good choice for a sit down meal in the area. I'd definitely give it another try, as the sushi was good, and there were many options on the menu that sound appealing. This nicely decorated restaurant gave us a pleasant and clean feeling with beautiful wedding venus. We went to have dinner on Friday afternoon around 3 pm. The orders we had were a whole stream fish. When I asked what kind of fish would be. The waiter answered Sea Brass. He was wrong on the type of fish, It was not a Sea Brass but strip Brass, which was overcooked and not fresh at all. The second dish we ordered was a Walnut jumbo shrimp. There were 8 shrimps, lots of pineapple with about 7,8 pieces broken pieces of walnut, another failure. This plate would be named Pineapple Shrimp instead. The third dish was Veg. with assorted seafood stirred fly. It was bland without seasoning and in a small portion. The bowls of rice were cheap rice which shouldn't be served in a restaurant. The waiter was slow and lay back. It took him to bring out 3 dishes with a spread of more than 20 minutes in between. It was not acceptable for Chinese hot dishes to be separated into 3 courses. The tea was cheap. This restaurant charges high-class prices but the food is of low quality. Before we had dinner there, we had high hopes of holding a Wedding party there. But we are all against it now. I still like the parking lot with the Handicap ramp and the outdoor patio dinner. read more

We asked for hot tea, and oddly enough, the server brought over 2 tea cups with 2 teas bags of oriental tea and put them in our cups. Then she poured warm water over them while we watched and we waited ..and waited for the tea to steep. Nope. Not sure what was up, but I have NEVER gotten a tea bag in a Asian restaurant before. The wonton soup ($5.00) was steaming hot and had some pea pods and chopped scallions in it. The wontons were ok, but the broth had lots of flavor. I enjoyed it. I ordered the Moo Shu Pork ($14.00) medium spicy with no mushrooms and it was AWESOME. Freshly cooked its made with pork tenderloin, green onions, mushrooms (straw mushrooms and another type I don't like) , and scrambled eggs, all rolled into small, thin pancakes. I ate about half of it, and ordered another 4 pancakes to bring home to by BF and then ate some the next day. It was still delicious and I NEVER eat leftovers!!! Best Moo Shu Pork I have ever had :) My friend loves the Shrimp Nime Chow so ordered just one ($8.00) . It was as good as it always is to her. She also ordered Pad Thai with shrimp for her entree ($15.00 ) and said it was very good. Lots of flavor and cooked perfectly. It was a big portion, so she ended up taking some home. Service was a bit slow and it wasn't busy. I think we had the new server. I will definitely do back to eat that again or order takeout when I am in the area ! read more

I went to the new Jacky's Galaxie in North Providence after a long awaited transformation from the former Julio's Restaurant. It took them almost 2 years to complete the building. I was pleasantly surprised. The service was very good, as was the food quality and portion size. They have authentic sauces and give you chop sticks too. It seems a little more geared towards sushi and Japanese rather than Chinese and Vietnamese like the original restaurant in North Providence. The decor was very clean looking and trendy and features an outdoor patio, outdoor fountain and lighting. They have 2 bars, one in the main area, and one in the banquet room. They also have a VIP room and a wine display. I liked the 20.00 menu for two where you get sushi, entree and dessert per person. I did notice a huge increase in a favorite entree called Vegetable Pad Tai. The original place (which is still open at time of review) sells it for $8.99, but at the new place it is now a whopping $14.00! A 40% increase??! Really??! The atmosphere and decor are absolutely beautiful. IMO, completely wrong location for this restaurant - they have beautiful glass windows overlooking.....wait for it...Mineral Spring Ave? Yea, I don't know about that - maybe the better idea would've been to put those windows in the back of the restaurant overlooking a koi pond? Just my thoughts. Aside from all that, the experience was good. Good, quick and friendly service. Food was good but I've had versions that were better at a fraction of the cost. I understand that bc they boast as an upscale smaller version of the downtown Prov location, they can jack up the prices. We ordered 2 soups - wonton and seafood. Both were fine, wonton was a tad bit salty but I liked the thinner wrappers they use vs. the very thick ones Chinese restaurants use. My sister enjoyed her seafood egg drop soup very much - nice fresh flavor. Entrees, we ordered pineapple fried rice and crispy chicken wings. The fried rice is pretty much fried rice with bits of pineapple thrown in. I was expecting a bit of curry flavor - but this was the way they made it. The wings were good and crispy with a hint of heat. For a fraction of the cost - the one literally down the street will suffice anyone's appetite. I'm not a sushi person but their sushi menu is quite expansive. I wouldn't mind going back as it is beautiful inside with a private dining area that can accommodate a party of 6-8, but for regular dining options, I'd go elsewhere. read more

The Thai beef basil was delicious! Smoky flavor, savory and extra umami definitely coming back for more. The crispy chicken wings were on point the dipping sauce that came with it was sweet and tangy. my kids got a kick out of the food being delivered by a Japanese style robot, the robot had a cat face and made cute noises as it delivered our food to the table.
