I ordered take out and was extremely dissapointed. I ordered chicken pad thai and spicy beef salad. Both were aweful. The pad thai had no seasoning. No sprouts , no cilantro, only some peanuts on the side. It didnt look anything like the pictures on yelp. The beef salad was drowning in a sea of sauce and was tiny. The best Thai restaurant left in the area. Warm and cozy atmosphere, great selection of dishes. For us herbivores, they'll substitute tofu for the meat or seafood, and the plates are so big, you'll definitely have to get a to-go box (spicy Thai food actually seems to get a little warmer the next day)! read more

The service really varies depending on which server you get (try your hardest for the guy with the anarchy tattoo- otherwise, I hope you aren't hungry, thirsty, or in a hurry), but the food is always fantastic. They have tons of vegetarian options and recently they made a dish that wasn't on the menu for one of my friends. I don't know if it's authentic, and I don't care. It is delicious. read more

Meal was good. However, there was only one person waiting the tables on a Saturday night, but he was a good waiter...fast, friendly and efficient. I think the appetizers were too expensive for the small portions you get. Satay was very small. Good...but small. Overall, I say it is a nice thai restaurant. read more

I've only been here twice, and over a number of years, but both times it was delicious. This most recent time we were there a little bit late in dinner service, almost 8pm. We came here desperate for Asian food after another local restaurant let us down immensely. Mai Thai was close by and we remembered liking it before, so we hopped in. Since the dining room was empty because of the time, we were immediately seated and waited on by a VERY polite and efficient waiter, who was super attentive (unlike sometimes when a restaurant is empty and the staff disappears) to us. We quickly ordered and were left to enjoy the warm comfort of the yellow walls with large, interesting art work and a cozy atmosphere like someone's overlarge dining room at home. Our food came quickly, we ordered coconut chicken soup and two noodle dishes. I think they were Pad See-ew and Pad Neau Sub (I should not have waited so long to review or should have written them down) and we were very satisfied. The soup was hot and flavorful with large chunks of chicken and mushrooms. I could have let it be a little more spicy for my taste, but it was delicious as is. We both remarked that the noodle dishes were exactly like something we would want made for us if we said we wanted "Thai Comfort Food." They were extremely generous portions as well, we both ended up taking over half home with us. Overall I wish I could remember to come here more often in my quest for really good Asian food, Thai or otherwise as this is a spot that Augusta needs to keep. read more

Pad Thai was overpriced based on the taste, size was perfect. Spring Rolls were way overpriced & sauce resembled BBQ flavoring, needed more peanut/soy flavoring. We will continue our search for a great take-out Thai food restaurant. read more

There are two types of Thai places, ones with authentic Thai food and ones that serve Thai-like food with options to have lots of spice which somehow makes it more authentic. Unfortunately, Mai Thai falls under the latter. My wife and I went here and ordered a simple Pad Thai with chicken and some soup. The pad Thai came out with a pink, cooked shrimp, hue. My wide likes to add the spicy seasoning herself so that the true pad Thai flavor doesn't get drowned out. Well there was no flavor except the spicy flavor she added. The noodles were mushy as well. I can see by the previous reviews that were placed here that this restaurant does not read any of them. I should have taken the hint, Today is Friday, the Ultimate "Restaurant Day for this town". Just about every restaurant from Thomson to Midtown Augusta is packed on a Friday night. When we walked in we thought we lucked out when we saw only one other couple sitting in the place.This is a smaller place. It looks fairly clean and cozy. Interesting art. Visually a place that has promise. The staff was GOLDEN, sweet as pie and very accommodating. The FOOD WAS AWFUL. Were were a party of 5 and 3 of us became ill from eating there. Physically ill!!!! 3 of us ordered Pad Thai, which we have eaten at other establishments before. The shrimp was freezer burned and chewy, had this weird gooey coating from freezing for too long....NOT FRESH at all. The noodles were actually sour and salty. And a weird pink or coral color, (the chicken was pink too), and came out in like a big lump from over cooking. Just weird. If it wasn't that the employees were so nice, we would have walked out. One of us ordered a curry dish......and it was sweet. Like really sweet, so that it had a weird sick kind of flavor that was off with the curry since it was a savory dish. The last ordered a chicken dish, a stir fry thing. Again, the meat tasted old. It had an aftertaste when I breathed out of my nose like that of a smokers house. I am guessing it was freezer burn as well. The flavor was horrid...how do you make something both too salty and too sweet at the same time? It was like a child was experimenting in the kitchen. Someone had no idea what they were doing, it was blatantly obvious!! Again if it weren't for the staff we would have just walked out....Almost 100 bucks altogether for some garbage that got puked up by yours truly about a half hour after it went it in. I was starving and ate about a third after skipping lunch this afternoon. I forced it in because I felt bad. There was no one else to wait on and the staff member looked like my mom trying to see if we were happy with her cooking. Don't do it! I still feel as if I have a hole in my gut! Great joint with "authentically good" Thai food! I take-out ordered the Pad Kee Mao Noodles with Egg instead of other meat choices (call me weird but that's just how I like my drunky noodles) and also a cup of the Tom Yum Gai, both at the 'Thai Hot' spiciness level. Both dishes were packaged with care and they dole out large portions, the takeout container for the noodles was massive and filled to the brim. This makes me feel better about their higher-than-average prices. The Tom Yum Gai was pleasant, although not the best I've ever had. Lacked a certain sweet vs. sour complexity that I usually love about the soup. But, still was a nice soup. The noodles, on the other hand, were near perfect. They weren't gummy nor dry, the seasoning was perfect and garlicky, and the spicy fairy came and conquered. I love this dish here and will be sure to come back just for these noodles. By far the worst pad Thai I've ever had in my life. Just looking at it made me sad. Zero flavor or seasonings. The panang curry was just "meh" but they don't even put any veggies in but they do give more than enough chicken so I guess it kind of made up for the lack of veggies, it was also extremely salty. Went for dinner with a couple friends and there was much left to be desired. The server did not write down our order and because of that forgot my soup order. I ordered the chicken pineapple fried rice as my entree and while the rice tasted good is was very sticky and the chicken was cold. Not cool as if it had been sitting on the counter for a while but cold like it came straight from the refrigerator. They Mai Thai offered to remake my meal but I passed on it since I didn't want to risk just getting back a microwaved plate. I will likely not return. read more

Awesome food and a military discount!! Woop woop. I've only had the curries, pad thai, and coconut soup so far. Thai tea was a little too nutty and syrupy for me, but I'm no thai tea expert. Take out is my usual since I don't live far and my husband doesn't favor Asian food. It's always a treat for me. They have three levels of spice. I LOVE spiciness, but if you want to taste and enjoy your food, don't go above a two. That's even pushing it. Literally every time I eat the food I'm sniffing snot between bites. Will never eat here again. The food was not good and they called these very thick noodles rice noodles. Rice noodles are thin and grab the flavor of what ever ingredient you use. The beef noodles were terriable with no flavor. Tasted like water. I asked to trade out for something different but they refused. Nor would they take anything off for it. Barely passable as Thai food. Pad Thai was a gooey pink blob. Panang curry was watery. But my main problem was the service. Seventeen year old stoner kid seats us and immediately asks, can I get you something to drink? Well we hadn't even picked up a menu yet. Tried to order the tom yum soup, but kid rudely interrupts, what number? Apparently you must order by number here because the waitstaff doesn't know, or can't pronounce, it's own menu. He brings the food out, my wife says, thank you, and he walks away. As far as I can see there are no Thai people that work here, and the quality of the food and service shows. Stay away. Will resume search for better Thai in the CSRA and am open to suggestions. Also prices are not good for the quantity and quality that you get. read more

This was our first time visiting this place. The service was fast and friendly and we were surprised to see such a little place filled. With that being said, our food wasn't the greatest. We ordered spring rolls and pot stickers for appetizers and they were decent. For the main course we ordered tofu drunken noddles and a red based chicken curry. Here's where we were hit with a surprisingly strong pepper flavor. Two bites in and our mouths were on fire. We then remembered that the waiter didn't ask us what level of heat we wanted our meal... He told us that this meal was the "mild" level and it only had 3 peppers. We asked if they could please make it less spicy... And they did but it just wasn't the same anymore. The curry was too salty and the drunken noodles seemed sweeter. Before we left we overheard the waiter ask the new guests what level they wanted their food... At least he remembered to ask them. I probably won't be coming back for seconds (especially considering the price!). Hope we find a good Thai restaurant in our area soon. read more

my wife and i come at least once a week for dinner. she always gets the drunken noodles and i usually get the g4 (chicken, rice, brown sauce and jalapenos) service is always on point and we have never had a bad meal. their coconut soup is excellent and prices are not bad either. their spring rolls are cheap for 2 of them and delicious. joe (i think) is our favorite waiter, younger, tall guy that is always attentive, nice and all around a good guy to talk with. his service qualities are what you expect and want when dining out. he always remembers what we drink/eat but asks to make sure we're not trying something different! damn good server. food is great, staff is great prices are great, did i mention the food is great?!?! read more

We went here after our first stop of the night did not quite pan out. The service was good, our waiter was very polite, and he seated us right away. The food was great though it did take a bit to get to us since they actually cook it instead of having everything from the freezer or microwave. We got the dumplings to start and they were very tasty. Then we ordered the Seafood Satay (very spicy and good) and the (7 Thai-worded) chicken & cashew dish, also very good. Our only suggestion is to be careful of the spice factor if you are not used to thai food or other spicy foods. For all of you non-Thai food eaters out there three chili peppers on the menu means it is spicy-hot. For dessert we had the fried cheesecake with cherries & blueberries. Again very good, it reminded us of a creamy funnel cake. For us the selection was perfect and we will be going back! read more
