I reached out to maids by trade because I wanted to get my apartment cleaned. I had let it fall by the wayside while I was going through cancer treatment and to celebrate my remission wanted treat myself and have it done for me. I Was quoted $420 as the high end of the estimate for cleaning of a 1year old property, EXCLUDING the master bedroom, but added to have the refrigerator (not freezer) cleaned out. They sent out a 3 team crew for a 2 bathroom 1 bedroom less than 800sq ft apartment and failed to communicate any adjustments or extras they felt they wanted/needed to add, once they finished in under the 3 hour window i was expecting to pay less than the $420.. however I was presented with a $525 bill!! These people came in, poorly vacuumed and mopped the floors, half heartedly wiped down the doors and cabinets, cleaned the sinks, tubs and toilets... no windows, no blinds, no dusting and did a horrible job at that! I called the main office immediately and asked them how that was even possible and was told that it took longer than expected even though I was quoted three people for three hours and they were only here for two hours and 30 minutes. they said we're sorry for the miscommunication we're sorry that they didn't tell you that they were going over the $420 until they presented me the bill then proceed to quote the estimate verbiage but we had previously discussed that $420 was the high end and more than likely would not be gone over the photos tell all this is a Bait and Switch and I have contacted the BBB read more

I just had my house deep cleaned by Maids By Trade of Johnson Creek and I am struck speechless. My normally dingy entry floor glows! The stove top is so clean I can clearly see the burner outlines! This company is under new management that is non trustworthy - they have increased prices without getting any prior agreement, then lie when being confronted and falsifying documents to our credit card company when trying to justify their charge for a 2 hour cleaning that ended up being 35% more than the same 2 hour regular cleaning since 2015. I have had a house cleaner for the last 15 years.I have had very few issues over the years. But this company has been difficult. 1. They have different teams come in, they have to be trained and told each time what to do. Many don't speak English. So this creates a problem. 2. I have had them put mats back in crooked. Their boss was there and he said, yeah I noticed that but didn't address it. I have had them put the sheets on the bed like it was a pillow instead of changing the sheets. 3. I called and made arrangements for them to keep my card and number for payment. They look the payment but have no recollection of this conversation and therefore didn't charge me for several cleanings. Warning: balloon payment! 4. I asked them to clean the lower bathroom now for 2 months now. I talked to the guy who verifies their work, I showed him exactly what I wanted. He said he would mark this down. I talked to the cleaners directly. I talked to the ladies on the phone in the office. We had an agreement about what was going to happen. This has yet to occur. They sent out an email saying that we had to write a good review for the people to get raises. I'm not happy. I don't recommend them at all. read more

I'm very impressed with Maids by Trade, particularly in the way the office communicates when there is an issue. We had a false start with our first cleaning. The same day, I emailed the office to let them know about our concerns. They were extremely responsive and assured me that it would never happen again. Because I'm a big beliver in how one handles situations, I decided to give them another try. I am so very glad I did. I came home to a spotless. In the past, when my husband and I have moved, we've done the final clean-up ourselves. It was a pain, but do-able. This time, while we were in the process of packing and purging and moving, I made the executive decision to have the final clean up done by professionals. We'd lived in that house for 7 years and let's just say that it was a job best left to people who wouldn't throw their hands up in despair. Let me tell you, it was the best $200 I have ever spent (not including a tip for the cleaners). After checking out on-line reviews for several local housecleaning companies, I contacted a few of them and NW Housecleaning was the last to get back to me. The discount (which is no longer available) that they had for Yelpers was a key factor and I am glad that I used them. They were able to get me on their schedule at the last minute and I was able to stay within my budget by deciding how many hours I would pay for and providing a priority list. They gave me a 2 hour window of when the crew would show up , which was a little inconvenient, but considering that I called them so late in the game, I was expecting it. The clean-up team of 2 people called me to let me know that they were on their way, which was nice. When they arrived, they were very friendly and I gave them a walk-through and reviewed the priority list with them. They were working within 10 minutes of arriving and I felt that the house was in good hands. I did stick around for the first 45 minutes or so, but then left to run some errands. When I came back at the tail end of the 3 hours that I had paid for, I was pleased to see them still working away. At the end of 3 hours, they did let me know they weren't QUITE done so we added another 15 minutes to the job to let them finish the projects that they were working on. We did a walk-through and I was pleased to see how clean they got things considering the short amount of time that I had given them. The carpets had that very nice pattern that professional cleaners leave when they do the job, the sinks and tub/shower and toilets were sparkling, they cleaned and scrubbed the refrigerator and mopped the floors. They cleaned the vents and got about 95% of the cobwebs from around the house and the light fixtures. The follow-up by the office was very persistent, but they were also very responsive about addressing the issues that I had. There was really only 1 problem (The other was a misunderstanding on my part, so no fault to them) and Nichole in the office was great about handling it. The issue was that one of the cleaners was a little too interested in their cell phone -- Nichole assured me that they would speak to them and she took full control of the situation and wouldn't let me feel guilty about reporting the issue at all. Once we get unpacked and get everything straightened out at the new house, I am eager to contact NW Housecleaning to see about having them come in to clean house for me on a regular basis! read more

I've used them in a couple of different scenarios: once to clean my condo when I was overwhelmed at work and couldn't keep up with my housekeeping. Once when I moved out of the condo and needed it cleaned for the new owners. And again at the house I moved to from the condo, when it was left dirty and I needed it clean before we moved in our belongings and kitties. All three times, Maids By Trade kicked butt. How? 1) Scheduling was quick and easy. I've never once had to leave a message with them and wait to hear back. April is fast and efficient, and really saved me by squeezing me into a slot the very next day when I called needing cleaning ASAP at the house we were moving into. 2) They've been on time every time. That's a big deal to me. 3) The teams they send to clean are polite, thorough, and considerate. They take the time to walk through the house with you and make sure they completely understand your needs. They do a great job cleaning, and without super gross smelly chemicals. They have never broken anything, or for that matter moved things around during their cleaning. I hate it when cleaners rearrange my stuff, and that never happens with Maids By Trade. 4) They've never gone over their quoted amount. Also a big deal! I can't remember who came to my condo last December, but I do know that with the two recent services I had, Maria L., Irma, Jesus and Elva all helped out, and all did a fantastic job. I have no doubt that anyone from this company would do a good job, really. After we've settled into the new place I'm planning on having Maids By Trade come out again, and I know I will recommend them to anyone else who is looking for a top notch cleaning service. Maids by Trade are a lifesaver! I use them fairly regularly, but not actually regularly scheduled. So I always call up the week that my house needs to be cleaned and they manage to get a team scheduled. You can call or email the office. Scheduling is easy. I like that I get a call 30 minutes before they arrive - a nice touch! This way I can stay at work as long as possible and then leave in time to meet them. I appreciate the respect they show for my time. The cleaning teams are good. I don't have a particular favorite, they all do a good work. Our house is about 50% hardwood floors, and they always look amazing. Also, I don't even know how but they get the glass in the shower so clean! Cleaner than I ever can. I'm always happy that I've scheduled them, particularly now that we have a pup. They clean around his crate (its a BIG crate) like its not even there (exactly like I ask them to do). Love them. Really darn good. Why not 5 stars? Because getting scheduled was a major challenge. I don't want to go into all the boring details, but let's just say Maids by Trade has a few administrative issues to work out. As for the cleaners, they did an amazing job. They were polite, attentive, and left my house sparkling clean--literally. They are a little pricier than other companies, but I believe in getting what you pay for. They show up prepared and ready to work and they didn't cut corners. The estimator, Luis (who will come out to give you a quote beforehand), was extremely courteous. I'm not sure I've ever met a nicer person. He made me feel like my house was the center of the universe and gave it his full attention. He took the time to make sure he really understood what I wanted. Really, they're awesome. Unfortunately, we recently had to discontinue using Maids by Trade. I say unfortunately, because my wife and I felt they did a good job, they were prompt and efficient, and they communicated well. We had used them for several years (they came every other Thursday), and the first problem occurred roughly a year ago. When we got home from work on a Thursday evening, my wife was unable to find her phone charger. Initially, we just assumed she had misplaced it and it would eventually turn up, but it never did. Still, we were unwilling to believe that one of the employees had taken it (it really seemed like a pretty ridiculous thing to steal), and we continued using them. No further problems occurred until just last week. My wife and I are currently working from home, and when we get the phone call that the maids are on their way, I tend to scoop up any valuables (phone, wallet, charger, etc.) and either put them in my pocket (the phone and wallet) or take them into our enclosed laundry room (we shut the door so the maids will know not to go in there). I then headed downstairs to our finished basement where the wife and I both work on the day the maids come. After they left, I went into the laundry room to grab my valuables, only to find out that now my phone charger was missing as well. We waited a few days to see if it would turn up (though I was fairly certain I'd put the charger in the laundry room with a number of other items), but no such luck. Obviously, we had to fire them after this latest episode. Even so, I continue to shake my head over this behavior. What a ridiculous thing to steal, and how much more obvious can you be. read more

I've been using Maids By Trade since I moved into my new house over a year ago. I use the once every month service, mostly to keep from having to clean the bathrooms or wash my own floors. After a year, my new house still looks great. My hardwoods are in great shape, and my bathroom floors and tiled shower continue to look brand new. The maids are very friendly and always show up very close to the start of my cleaning window. I work from home, but they are quiet and do not disturb me and I can confidently have conference calls while they are cleaning. When I have free moment, I just leave the office and head to a cleaned room and they know that is their signal to tackle my office. The coordinating office makes sure you are happy with your service and has checked up on me 2 or 3 times since I started. I've had a few comments on places I wanted deeper cleanings, and have only had to ask once and its always taken care of in the future. Highly recommend. read more

Astounding service!! I went to work and when I returned, my house was immaculate. I am a single parent with two teenage boys, two dogs and a cat, and I work full time. Though I clean on a regular basis, things get ahead of me! When they were done, my house was so clean and fresh. Every single thing was dusted. It smelled great. All the counters and fixtures were shiny and polished. Every inch, nook and cranny was clean. The floor shined. The carpets were all vacuumed. They paid attention to every detail. It made me so happy! I've had this company come to my house twice and have been so impressed both times. Maids by Trade has far surpassed the other cleaning agencies I've used. Maids by Trade was my first cleaning company experience and they set the bar. When I needed someone last minute, I hired another well known popular company. All in all, it went okay. They came to the house on time and performed 6 hours of cleaning for 3.5 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, including laundry room. kitchen, refrigerator clean-out, etc. The house wasn't very dirty to begin with, but it was a lot of area to cover, and it did look good afterwards. It was a man/women team, and they were very courteous, personable and professional, showing up in a Maids by Trade vehicle, etc. I was a little surprised at the rates, the charges were $42 per hour, per cleaner (there were two of them), so in total it was $84 per hour. I haven't shopped around but it seemed a little spendy to me. I did not specifically plan for a +$500 house cleaning. To their credit, they did call and ask for permission to continue after the job took longer than the estimate. I had asked them to clean up the laundry room which was very dusty and they had to move towels and things off the shelves in order to clean them, so this escalated the job beyond their initial estimate, I guess. There is most likely a great benefit to charging high prices if you consider the fact that nothing was broken or missing afterwards, they are very reliable and professional. I might use them again but would probably limit the cleaning to just the bathrooms and kitchen, as the whole house was pretty time consuming and at $84 an hour it adds up quickly. I'll possibly try a few other services also in order to give a fair comparison. read more

I requested regular cleaning service to start this past week. The women came and I stayed in my room so they could work. About 2/3 of the way through the cleaning a man came and said he was their supervisor. He asked me about it being a move-out clean, which it was not. He said I'd be charged for the women thinking that it was a move out clean and them cleaning out some of the drawers in one of the bathrooms, which I didn't need done. One of the women closed the door to the front bathroom when she went in to clean, and I found after she left that she'd taken the large bottle of aspirin from the medicine cabinet. I feel bad for her if she was in pain, but she didn't need to steal. She could have just asked and I'd have been happy to share if not give it to her. Basically, they didn't do some of the things I'd actually requested done for starting regular service, and then they did things that weren't needed or asked for because for some reason they thought it was a move-out clean while the apartment is furnished, and they didn't bother to ask about that when they saw that items/furniture were still around when that's usually not the case (at least for me) if it's a move-out clean. I am wondering if they just wanted to go through the drawers. So far, I don't think anything was taken save for the aspirin, but even that's sad. I don't think I'll be using them again. Also, one of them yanked out one of the slats in the long-hanging blinds and didn't say anything. I just found it laying to the side after they left. read more

They cancelled on me when I did not reply to the initial email or respond to their follow up call. It was my fault, but they were very understanding and professional. They worked with me to reschedule a couple of days later. Then the cleaners who came were cheerful, quick, and dressed professionally. Cleaners tore a grapefruit-sized hole in a curtain and scratched up the length of the fridge and freezer. They offered me half the value of the curtain and denied the large permanent marks they made on the appliances. They sent an appraiser who claimed the curtain tore from sun damage, which was clearly not the case--it is a newish north facing window and no fading, fraying etc. is present. They offered additionally to comp me for the cost of the cleaning, but then went ahead and charged my card. Now they won't reply to my emails. My kitchen looks permanently worse than before I called this company and I have spent more time trying to repair their damages than I would have spent if I cleaned the place myself. Trying to get a regular cleaning schedule with Maids by Trade was such a hassle that we decided to go elsewhere. We managed to get an initial cleaning done, after a lot of back and forth with the receptionist and having a staff member come out for an estimate. The crew did a decent job and we were happy enough to try to get a regular service scheduled. However there was so much back and forth, lack of timely follow-up and excuse making from the office staff that I decided to forget it and move on to a new cleaning service. While the cleaning service was decent and the maids themselves were professional, it also was VERY expensive, so you'd expect impeccable customer service and attention to detail, which we did not receive from the reception and scheduling staff. read more
