My dog has always HATED boarding centers, except for this dog hotel. Erica and her staff are so genuine and put so much time and love into caring for each dog. My dog has a hard time playing with other dogs, but Erica goes out of her way to still play and give my dog, Nala, all the love and attention. She even feeds them homemade treats! Whenever I am boarding Nala, Erica sends me daily photos of my furry baby because she knows that I miss her. She also sends me text updates of what Nala did during the day. Each dog has their own large play pen where they can play and sleep in, but during the day the staff lets them run around different dog playgrounds and lounge-areas. I love that the daily playtime is also one-on-one with the caregiver, which is so helpful for dogs who are reactive/wary toward other dogs. The daily update photos on Facebook really put my mind at ease- my pups seemed to be having lots of fun! The facility itself is beautiful, and the staff did wonderfully with my dogs, especially with my anxious dog. I heard about Arms of Aloha in passing as others recommended them on various Facebook dog groups that I'm a part of. When my dog was diagnosed with cancer, one thing that popped into my mind was that, if possible, I'd like to let her cross over at home, where she was more comfortable. This thought was even stronger after having visited the vet so many times in the last weeks of her life. I had read up on the literature available on the Arm's of Aloha website (where you can also get an estimate) as well as preregistered. You can also look at their appointments available. They advise on making an appointment at least 1-2 days in advance, especially on the weekends. The hard part is knowing ahead what day that will be. My dog took a turn for the worst one day and I went back and forth on scheduling the only/last appointment available for the next day (appts can be seen/booked online). No one wants to make that call (decision), but it's also painful to watch your beloved friend suffer. They do have a thorough cancellation policy you can read online and I decided I'd book the last appointment to secure it and I could always cancel/reschedule more than 8 hours out. In the confirmation email, there is a link to a video to watch of the Doctor describing the process so you're familiar - I'd recommend this if it is your first time through this. I guess because it was already the next day, they called me shortly after to confirm my appointment. I could barely get the words out the confirm but I never felt judged by the person on the phone. The morning of the appointment, I received an invoice in my email. They suggest taking care of it ahead of time as doing it in the moment with so many emotion is harder. I appreciated this detail and was able to get it out of the way. At our scheduled appointment time, Dr. Naun came to our house. She has a calm and peaceful energy to her. She had some further paperwork for me to sign then we started the process. It was peaceful, and of course sad, but Dr. Naun brought comfort to the situation and we're so grateful for a service like this. We chose to have our dog's ashes returned to us and about a week later, we received a beautiful urn and our paw prints. With the service, they have a chaplain who you may access to talk to if you need help. I did not use it but they do also offer at home palliative care.

He has black nails and does not let me touch his paws, which led me to find a professional to get his nails trimmed. We used to go to Petsmart but discontinued due to the inconvenience of reaching someone via phone call and finding a groomer who would do a good job with his nails. This is what led me to try out Mucky Pups (in addition to receiving information via word of mouth which also added credibility to Mucky Pup's services.) I instantly fell in love. When we walked up, it was such a cute, cozy, and welcoming space. We were instantly greeted by Isabelle, who is so friendly and kind to Copper Bear. She allowed us to be in the grooming room and watch him have his nails trimmed. Not only were we able to be there, she was so hospitable and fun to talk to. We felt so welcomed and could trust her instantly! Most of all, she does a wonderful job of trimming Copper's nails. We were so pleased with the results. Her grooming area is warm and welcoming and has a side yard that's easy to access to her grooming shed. My Golden Retriever Leo leaves looking like a show dog. My Chesapeake Bay Retriever Dexter receives a wonderful blow out. Their shedding decreases substantially. I've been back several times over the past year and I'm so glad this location is near by. I would rather have this gem than go to PetSmart any day (She is also more affordable than going to PerSmart)! My boys also love Isabelle! Bless her heart; She even rescued them once when they escaped their yard AND she brought them home for me (what a godsend that was). Dexter has trusts issues, he is skiddish and doesn't like strangers, but he loves Isabelle! We also had a Christmas photo shoot for the dogs and my daughters had pictures with the boys.
