Our friends use The Groom Room for their pups and got to meet the funky colored poodles when I was with them for a pick up. Sometimes the poodles have rainbow stripes, sometimes full on colors, but they always have style. They are so well behaved and hang out in the front room. We took our three pup pups for a spa day to trim nails, brush their teeth, a little trim and clean and clean up around their paws and butt, anal gland squeeze, and of course a bath. It was nice not having the stress of doing it ourselves. It was $180 for 3 of them, all under 20 lbs. They used a pup-fume that was a little strong (would've been a problem for sensitive noses) but it's nice once it's faded and they still smell fresh, several weeks later. Best part was emailing them on a late afternoon, getting a response an hour later and we had an appt booked for the next morning (drop off between 8 and 10am. We dropped them off at 10am and they were done by 10:40 and ready for pick up! read more

I have taken my pups here three times since I moved back to the islands 1 year ago. I admit I have tried other places closer to where I live (Mililani). I have no complaints about the other places I have tried but after today I will continue to go back to The Groom Room because they have consistently done an excellent job with my pups every single time. From the time I walk in to the time we walk out with the girls, it is such a wonderful experience. I always feel my pups are in safe keeping when I drop them off. Today my pups had their first all over haircut as they were from Washington state until a year ago so they needed their fur because of the cooler temperatures there. The team at The Groom Room did a fantastic job and the girls look like puppies again! They are ready for the Hawaiian summer! read more

We have been going to the groom room in Ewa Beach for over 3 years with the original owner Jeannine and we used to love everything about their service. She has since retired and the service we have noticed has taken a dive. We always schedule an appointment and drop off early. Usually only 1-2 hours, maybe 2.5 with phone calls explaining whatever delay there may be (courtesy we loved). Unfortunately, she left the business to her daughter and talk about poor service. Dropped off the dog, 3 hours later no call, we had to call to ask what was going on, said maybe 2-2.5 more hours due to being unprepared for the number of dogs arriving. If you are overloaded, why make appointments? Isn't that to maintain your level of quality? Dog came out ratty and we now have to take him to another groomer to fix what they did. What was the kicker that made me write this review was that they were not apologetic, and refused to take accountability for overbooking and screwing up our dog. How hard is it to say "hey we are sorry, we messed up. How can we help make this better?" That would have been the end of that right? nope, another example of a person rather wanting to be right than do the right thing. Now you lost a long-time, loyal customer. read more

We've used Groom Room for years to board our babies when we travel. We started when we lived on the west side and now that we have moved into town we still believe they are worth the drive to Ewa Beach. They take such good personal care of our older dogs; are willing to administer medication when needed and take extra steps to ensure our baby was eating. I highly recommend Janine and her team to anyone who is looking for someone to take care of your fur baby so you can travel without worry. Oh and they are great groomers too!! read more

Love it here. My fur-baby got treated like a princess and came out looking like a million bucks. I've been going to the groom room for over 13 years. They treat my puppy so special and talking to the owner even after all this time she is energetic and nice. I know that my dog likes to roll on her back because she is super submissive, and she got a little scrape from the razor. The owner was so apologetic and told me that she had the tiny wound already medically tended to with a wash and medical lotion. I was impressed at how bad she felt and how she called me during the week to check on her. The scrape was so minor that I was shocked that she didn't charge me! I will take that any day over Petco because you don't get what you pay for when they have your puppy. I won't even go there ever! People need to realize that your trying to clip a moving animal. Do accidents happen of course! I've seen the pictures of the Paws, and although it's very hard to see our pets injured...it could've been any number of reasons that a dog will jerk, growl, snap, or even try to get after another dog. Knowing this business and how they treat animals I find it hard to believe that she wouldn't make good on it or advise possible treatment. The owner loves animals...have you seen her animals? I believe she is a compassionate groomer and boarder. read more

Thank you so much Jeannie and staff! It was such a relief knowing my baby will be safe during the holidays and someone will always be around to ensure safety for people's pets. I left my little stud muffin here for 13 days while my husband and I traveled to the east coast. I was worried because my dog doesn't like loud noises and since we were going to be gone over New Years, i wanted to make sure that my dog was going to be safe and not scared shitless. I got exactly what I wanted from my dog being here. Jeannie took great care of him, and told me and my husband before we left that she has security throughout the building and can check on the dogs from her house which isn't far away. This made me happy. She also said sometimes if dogs aren't comfortable being alone she even stays all night at the shop. Also I wanted my pup to not be so socially awkward anymore, he had no idea how to be around other dogs, and Jeannie made sure he knew how to act. He also used to play bite and no longer does that as well. Upon pick up he was well groomed and smelled like strawberries!!! Hahaha I'm so thankful and pleased with everything Jeannie does!! First off, the folks at the groom room fondly refer to your beloved dogs as "kids" :) it's because they take care of them like they would your kids, with love and care. I first brought my older "kid" here a couple of years ago for a doggie spa day. She came out with soft paws, cleaned glands, trimmed nails, fresh breath, and a soft gleaming white coat. Not to mention, she smelled wonderful! Like berries, and not like "dog". She's under 20 lbs. And it came out to around $60 bucks. My kid always came out super happy, and loved going back every time. Once I got my second "kid", in an effort to save money, I tried to do most of the grooming at home. But recently decided that my kids deserved some spa treatment and took them both. Same result! happy, fresh, and clean doggies! There is some cost associated with the great services they provide, but my "kids" are worth it :) read more

Been taking my Border Collie and Australian Shepherd to The Groom Room for over 2 years now and I'm always blown away on how awesome and soft they are when they come home. I always get so many compliments while I am walking them on how gorgeous they look. My dogs are both adopted from previous owners and my Border Collie does not like cages. The owner, both new and old, always respected that and always let me walk him back and get him on the table immediately so he doesn't have to go into the holding kennels. He was also pretty aggressive when I first got him. Now he loves all the people that work there and gets supper excited to go and jumps up on the table himself without even being told. I know that when I take my dogs to The Groom Room they will be treated like family. I also love the fact that they are a small local business that passed from mother to daughter. We brought our Lhasa Apso to them for grooming. He was stolen from us 4+ years ago. This past week Humane Society called me to tell me they have my dog. My first thought was OMG MY ROTTS GOT OUT! Then she said, you're male lhasa apso named Harkey? I nearly fell out of my chair from shock. We just figured he was lost forever. We live in Waipahu and he was picked up in MILILANI! She said she scanned him and my info came up but on his collar there was a different address and a different name. That made my blood boil. I flat out told her I wanted my dog BACK. She said he looked well kept and well taken care of. When we went to pick him up he looked like BUM! His hair was long, unkept, matted, dirty, and just plain neglected. He wasn't malnourished so at least he was being fed. When we lost him, he was shaved like a lion. My husband used to shave him with a mane, socks, and a tail just like a lion. So whoever picked him up KNEW he belonged to someone yet never tried to do the right thing. For that reason, I had no sympathy for the family who has NOW lost "their" pet. Well, we took him to the Groom Room and I explained to the lady on the phone this story so I wanted him cut very short because I don't know how bad his skin may be underneath. They did AN AWESOMELY SPECTACULAR job on Harley! Talk about from ugly duckling to beautiful swan! He smelled great, had a cute little hanky around his neck and was so clean! We could actually SEE HIS FACE AGAIN! It was so awesome. They took about 3.5 to 4 hours and we understood that it would probably be a while considering he was neglected for so long and he DESERVED the pampering. 100% 5 stars, would give 10 stars if they existed!! Haha. Disappointed to see the bad reviews here because MANY people LOVE The Groom Room!! I have friends who live in town that make the trip to Ewa Beach because of how awesome Auntie Jeannine and her staff are to their clients. I have taken all of my babies to her, been going for 6 years now. Haircuts are always cute, service is phenomenal, and the best thing is that I know my babies are loved there too. Auntie Jeannine and her staff show your babies lots of love. A few years ago, I re-homed a shih tzu named Wookie (I was a brand new doggie mom) and Auntie Jeannine taught me a lot about caring for his skin, eyes, ears, etc. I lost my baby, Wookie, due to a tragic accident and she showed me so much empathy and love during my heartache. My husband later surprised me with a new baby, Mozart, and we later got another baby, Musiqal. Mozart and Musiqal have been going to Auntie Jeannine since they were babies and they love it there. Poncho, our elderly dog, has also been going to Auntie Jeannine forever too. Bottom line - I believe the reviews here don't reflect the awesome service and love that The Groom Room truly offers. Tip: Call ahead and make an appointment. Aunty Jeannine is very accommodating! Auntie Jeannine (owner) refers to your babies as "kids" - love that. Your babies always come home with bows and hankies. They showed them a picture of what they wanted & was very disappointed because he looked nothing like the pic. His hair was cut way too short & thet even bled him while cutting his nails. My wife called in specific directions on how to have my dog groomed. When I went in to drop her off I tried to explain that my wife had already given someone the information. No big deal though I don't mind trying to explain what my wife wanted. When the lady came up front from the back she had an attitude immediately as if I was inconveniencing her. When I tried to explain and remember how my wife wanted her she interrupted me telling me to look at her when I talk she couldn't hear (my dog was going a little crazy because of the other dogs in there and she was excited so it was difficult to keep eye contact). I then believe I misspoke about a detail and said something incorrect to which she corrected rudely. After a few more seconds of trying to explain what I wanted I gave up and said let me just call my wife and have her explain. She then with an attitude said come to the back room with me I'm extremely busy. I walked out. I left feeling like I was just scolded by a nasty woman. You know what? You don't need my business if you are so busy you cannot talk to your customers without being rude and without showing basic respect. I've been to the groom room a few times for my dog and every time I've felt like the staff were just a little rude but in this case it's stopped my business. I don't want to support that. read more

I dropped off my dog as I have done for the past 2 Years here. Normally they call me in an hour and half, hes ready to be picked up. I had errands to do so after 2 hrs I popped in to see if by chance he was ready, and willing to wait, if I had too, in my car if he wasn't. Once again employee at desk no greeting and no mask. Owner walks up , no mask, asks what do I need? One thing about Jeanine, after the past 2 yrs, she has no filter. And prior times when they call that he's done, a trainer beginner is who cuts him and its chopped all over, uneven, and he has to go back 3 more times til he's even, which irritates Jeanine even more than she already is. She asks did I get called? Right away started in on me, verbally, guess it was my day to get dumped on, lucky me. The employee still no mask, keeps standing there. Jeanine no mask on, goes to the back, makes it clear verbally and loud that normally they call me first. Trying to explain I had errands and NORMALLY AFTER 2 YRS of coming here its never been over 2 hours, I was in area to just stop by, if I need too ill WAIT, it's no big deal. One thing about Her, is she DOESNT LISTEN, to the customers reply to her rude, rapid fire questions. Jeanine walks to back super irritated at me for stopping in, and looks in the back room then storms back up to me and very loudly for ALL to hear asks me " WHAT GROOMER DID YOU GO TOO BEFORE YOU CAME HERE ? I answered confused what? I've only come here for 2 years now,since moving here. She then tells me that there is a groomer in Kapolei, that could probably take care of me better. So I ask her straightforward and eye to eye, So you are asking me to take my business elsewhere? After 2 years of paying YOU TO GROOM MY DOG? not to mention tipping YOU each time? I call, you answer, state to me bring him on down, we are not busy, so I do that! And each time Im called he's ready,, I have to wait because you don't cut him as requested, and I have to wait for him to get cut even. So I asked her, " SO u are telling me to take my business elsewhere after 2 years of coming here? And after a rave review on Yelp for u 2 years ago? No more! She couldn't answer that, with the look on her face it was sad to me, because after 2 years, she didn't remember me as a paying repeat customer. My parents spend choke money in this place and are both regulars here for their 4 dogs even after I tell them how much they suck. Well my parents were both in the hospital recently and I called the groom room to bored my parents dogs because that's what my dad requested. The owner said to me. Aren't you the one who gave the bad review. I said yes but these are my parents dogs. Not mine. You know my parents. She said yes but I also don't like you so no. I won't take their dogs. I hate this place and I hope the owner sees this update and chokes on her spit. Don't use this place. Just read the reviews. It was convenient for my elder parents. First off, I am writing this review not out of spite, nor to negatively bash, but to share our personal experience, in hopes to inform those who read this. We've been going to The Groom Room for a while now, taking our dog for grooming on a quarterly basis. The first few experiences were just as reviewed, very good, personable and professional. As our visits went on, we noticed that our dog started to act differently. She would whine and cry before we would even leave the house, like she's afraid of going back. We just thought it was a typical response for her getting inside a car. The visits after that were very disheartening, but I'll highlight the last 3 visits. After the 3rd to last visit, when we brought our dog home, we noticed these red bumps around her belly and back. After close inspection, they were definitely scabs. We were surprised that the staff didn't inform us of this, but we were forgiving and let that go. After the 2nd to last visit, we noticed that our dog had a cut on her ear, along with 2 nails that were slightly bleeding, due to an extremely short cut. Again, we were not informed of this by the staff, and we were getting a bit worried. We had dialogue with them about it, and again, we were forgiving. After the last visit, we saw that our dog had some bumps on her back again, but the thing that caught our attention the most was that her right eye was drooping, tearing, and she looked like she was in pain. It really worried us, so we called the staff once again. They had nothing to really tell us, and gave us no definite answer as to what had happened. We ended up in an argument, trying to gain the truth and facts, but all we were left with were alternative reasons and justifications as to how and why, which left us clueless. We just wanted the truth of what actually happened, no matter who was at fault. We ended up taking our dog to the vet, and she was diagnosed with having an ulcer in her eye. We later found out that she had excess shampoo in her eye, and that irritation caused some scratching, promoting the formation of the ulcer. She now has to wear a cone on her head for about 2 weeks, and is currently on 3 different medications. Of course, this results in extra fees, which is very hard on our budget nowadays. After all of these experiences, especially with the last visit, we decided to no longer go to The Groom Room. We can only hope that no one after us experiences the same or similar events with their pets. We were extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and information, especially when requested. Our lil pom ran away & was found by Janeane, the owner, of this place. Not only did Janeane rescued our dog she also pampered her & gave her the royal treatment... never seen my dog look so beautiful. She did such an amazing job we booked an appointment for our other dog for the very next day. She refused to even allow us to pay her for the treatment. After all these years, we never even knew such a great place existed just right down the street. A tragic situation turned into a blessing. We're so very thankful to have been blessed. read more

I haven't been here for months but I thought I'd leave my review as a warning for others. If I could give ZERO stars I definitely would. Brought my dog in for a haircut and the works.. came back in the afternoon. Everything looked okay until I got home. As soon as she walked on to the carpet I noticed bright red. I could not believe. I ran back to the car and double checked the seat and there was more. I checked her foot and it was covered in blood from her quick. I called the shop and asked about it. I understand that it happens but to not even inform me about it was WRONG. How many more times did this occur before this? I will never know. She bled on and off from the same paw for the rest of the day even with attempts to use a powder I had to purchase made to stop the bleeding. I felt so terrible. Never Again! read more
