My cat was not a patient, but my daughter's animals are. My cat was sick and they immediately took her in. Gave me antibiotics to use for two weeks. Unfortunately the antibiotics didn't work. She's a 16 year-old cat. She had a great life and I had to put her down. The doctor was very compassionate and very knowledgeable and so was the staff. They handled my Angel with such delicacy and care and respect. I will recommend this Veterinary Clinic to everyone that I know. For being a new patient, they made me a priority and made me feel like my angel was the most important Animal at that time. I'm sorry that Angel had to go to the rainbow bridge but I'm glad I chose this clinic to help in the process. They were so thoughtful and caring from the minute we walked in. Our poor London needed several teeth removed and one of his dewclaws taken out as well. They helped us all along the way and we felt more than welcome; not only by the aides and techs, but by the Dr.'s as well. Dr. Collier is amazing. My Golden Retriever puppy of 50 lbs. wanted nothing to do with the razor that was going to shave behind her ear and these girls got ahold of my fighting dog and got the job done! I didn't have an appointment and it was a Saturday and they made time for my puppy. I was so happy I took her because there was something up with her skin and a urinary infection. I thank them so much for allowing us to come in at the last minute and they took such good care of us. We appreciate them so much. I choose to take my cats to Waianae Vet because they are so caring and understanding. They have always been so good to our fur babies! Truly caring people over there. I feel like it's worth paying slightly more for the best care than go to those free mobile clinics. I asked a mobile clinic once please don't notch my cats ear, it's not a stray it will be an indoor cat, they refused and said they HAD to cut his ear because it's a free neuter. So when I got my next cat I went to Waianae vet and asked please don't notch his ear when you fixed him and they did not!! I was so happy my other fur baby has his whole ear. Anyway, the aunties at the front desk too are also amazing! The whole staff is just amazing. I can't say enough good things about this vet. She has taken such good care of all our dogs and now cares for the health of our 2 Great Danes...one of which is almost 200 lbs with both allergies and epilepsy. I loved this vet clinic, still do .. very convenient for me being that I live on the west side . Staff is amazing I love the doctors and summer &&' my laddies on the front desk. But I cannot stand the worker chy , I worked there for a little .. then my dad got sick with heart failure and I was off at work even though I loved working there she would always make my days miserable, long story short till this day I take my dog there her name is reign and she has skin allergies. I took her in today and everything was good , got token in the room , no one checked my dogs vitals I was on the phone with my job as the doctor walked in I hung up as soon as she walked in , we talked everything was going smooth we talked about reigns skin and what she needed to get today witch was a shot and some antibiotics . She gave reign the shot I walked out I was at the front paying , and I called my mother at that point after I got the vet bill I told my mom should we get the medication here or go through an app that reigns previous doctor told us about .. to see if we can get it cheaper. I got off the phone then started to pay I noticed her walk in by the ladies in the front she looked at me with a weird face like she normally does each time I go there and each time I ignore it because I ain't there for her but I'm there for my dog I over heard her say something about a room but I wasn't paying attention . So I walked out while leaving the vet my little sister told me , a lady with weird eyebrows was talking shit about you , I said oh I know who your talking about because she does it each time I go there. Never fuckin miss her name is chy or some shit like that anyways , long story short my sister was telling me that she was accusing me of stealing something in the room my sister couldn't tell me what it was that she was talking about. Again I was going let her go , but I was thinking to myself why the fuck should I ? Why should I allow her to call me all types of things talk shit each time I go there , make it miserable for me each time I go there .. &&' now be called a thief.. I'm outraged , because I never stole from that place in my life , why would I spend $100 bucks today if I stole something ? That's ridiculous I work for my shit and every dollar I make ! As I sit here writing this review with my 7 of 10 un-bandaged fingers, I am writing this at 2:30am because I can't sleep. I am so incredibly luck my dog is alive right now and could not be more grateful. My story: About 10 am I arrive at a friend's house to help paint. Kiyoshi (my dog) and a couple other friends start walking up to the door. I feel so guilty now - as I had underestimated the situation. My dog had played with her dogs long ago at the beach when they were puppies. We walked in and in less than a blink they were running up to him on both sides of me. I ran out the door carrying him to my car and use yelp to find the closest vet. I give Waianae Vet Clinic a call and say I have an emergency am I able to get help now-- I was told yes, and begin feverishly driving over. I am lead to one of the check rooms and the vet tech takes a quick look then goes to the back. I wait for what seems like an eternity as my heart is racing. Kiyoshi's heart is racing an I am trying to apply pressure to as many wounds as I can with my limited 2 hands. Dr. Collier eventually comes in to examine him. Tells me step by step what they are going to do now. Without hesitation I agree to the first estimate to shave, flush and clean the wounds for better evaluation. She does the eval and further surgery is needed as the bites ripped and tore into muscle. One,barely barely missed a vital artery. I am so lucky he's alive. The techs are working with a sleepy and sedated Kiyoshi as the vet tends to me and my wounds. She helps me clean up some of the blood and feces. Tells me to sit and leave the door open so they can watch me a bit as well if I faint. I'm a touch bandaged, able to drive, and they are about to start on his actual surgeries, so she sends me to the receptionist to get directions to Waianaie Comprehensive Clinic. I go overt there, in my blood covered and shredded shirt, still some blood on my face and neck, and am processed with my own tetnis shot, localized antisthetic, stitch, x-ray and antibiotics, pain reliever then a couple hours later, I am released to go back to the Vet, just as Kiyoshi has finished surgery and is awake. I cannot even find the words to express how grateful I am for being able to run to Waianae Vet Clinic Staff and the care Dr. Collier provided both Kiyoshi and I outstanding, calm, and thuroughly explained care today (yesterday) when I was not able to go to Kiyoshi's regular vet, in town at King St. Pet Hospital. My lessons learned: I am taking this as a lesson for my self. And hope others can learn as well- no matter how well trained, how the behavior was on a different day, or how quick you think you can take control, its all to easy to become complacent. No matter how much a part of your family your fur baby is,they cannot speak. They still have animal instincts we will never really understand. If you have a big dog, it is ever so critical to ensure adequate training and responsibly to have control; If you have a small dog, never under estimate how fragile they can be. Don't become complacent! Be alert, cautious, and aware of the control in the situation every time. If you aren't doing conformance shows or breeding with your pets -as Bob Barker says, spay and neuter your pets. One thing I like about the Waianae vet is that they try to accommodate you with appointments. I've always been able to get a same day appointment. The employees here are always so friendly and helpful. They are easy to locate, right off of Farrington Hwy in Waianae next to 7-11 and the Waianae Market. Late review but I took my blue French Bulldog for spay on October 9 Tuesday and I have to say the Dr's there at Waianae vet did a wonderful job. My 6 month old French Bulldog healed nicely and did not show any pain due to her pain medication. When we moved here from the mainland in 1999, our dogs Kernal Mustard and Kona, met all the staff at the Waianae Veterinary Clinic as soon as the pooches finished the last 30 days of their quarantine "prison" sentence. Wonderful care all of their lives! Today our present dogs, Prince and Koko, had their last visit to see all of our old friends at the Clinic as we are returning to the mainland this week. We've been going to this vets office for just over a year now. They've offered a variety of treatments and affordable pricing. Our large dog suffered from having her back broken, we thought we'd have to put her down but they were able to treat her with a combo of meds, laser, and subluxation (chiropractic using a tool for animals). Dr. Collier and her staff are top notch in my book. We have 3 dogs we take to see her. Each time we take one of them for a visit, we are never disappointed with their services. I love the fact I can call them for an emergency and I can take my pet in right away. The best part is, they don't charge me an outrageous "emergency visit" fee. This clinic is affordable. We have been to other vet clinics in the past, so we know how much other places charge for a routine visit, spay/neuter, emergency stitches, etc. Also, visits are always thorough and I never leave the clinic unclear or confused.
