One of my favorite sushi spots that never disappoints. They are the cause of their own success and really give it their all. Taste and presentation is always a five star even when taking-out. Some of my favorite things to order: Maiko salad, paradis sushi and kamikaze. The only thing I really miss is the proximity as they used to be on Bernard street and that's how I discovered them. Unfortunately, they closed down that location and are only in the West Island. Still grateful they are still around. If you haven't been, check them out and order ahead of time to ensure you have the chance to explore the yumminess they have to offer.

The sauce was so good !!! i always come back as they come up with new dishes on the menu. the decor is elegant, calm , perfect for a date. when i come here i like to take all their entre and specialities. love it. i just didn't want to waist on carbs. This place is as good as it gets for sushi. I've previously visited the Outremont location for dinner (which I heard closed) and that was an expensive yet delicious experience. This time, I visited the West Island location for lunch. They have great lunch specials, that comes with a soup, salad and dessert. I got the chef's sushi special (12 pieces of absolutely delicious sushis). The only thing is that the pieces are cut too big for me but I heard you can request that they cut them smaller. The Maiko salad is excellent and the tiny scoop of vanilla ice cream served at the end made for an excellent meal. For $35 (taxes & tips included), I thought it was worth the price. The restaurant itself is very nice and the the service is great. Will be returning.

The Japanese salad with the crispy yam bits

I was in Montreal west, feeling Sushi and always knew of this place. I always thought it was just your regular sushi joint since it was in a plaza so didn't think much of it. After I read through the menu I found I dish worthy as an offering to God. It was called "les perles de maiko" and it combined torched salmon sushi, foie gras, and truffled mayo. A little on the pricey side but I got to split the bill so we also got the the "sushi and sashimi" lunch special and shared both worlds. The lunch special came with miso soup that tasted like all miso soup (I swear they all taste the same) and a Japanese salad that had crispy yam bits that made the salad for me. All sashimi and sushi were on point and after a bite of the "les perles".... oh my GAWD worth it.

I called to order take out from here. The person on the phone took my order fairly quickly and I got everything as I ordered. When I arrived, staff was friendly and helpful. I only ordered maki rolls and all were delicious! I got the Spicy Salmon, Kamikase, Una Kuy, Maiko, Bonsai, and the Spider. I would take the exact same order next time. However, I wish they served more than 4 pieces per sushi order.

Tonight felt like I was re experiencing maiko all over again! .. for some reason I forgot about this place ever since the location on bernard street closed.. (that's how long it's been). So my friend and I were looking for somewhere near and something yummy! And maiko popped up! And I'm so glad it did! It was seriously so yummy everything ( almost) we took. Unfortunately I wasn't able to take all the pictures because we really enjoyed it quickly , one meal after the next! We had the maiko scallops - absolutely wow! The sushi pizza - it lacked so much attitude and sass. Honestly nothing special at all! The tuna - INSANE. Lobster roll- out of this world ,I just wish the peices were a normal size to fit in a normal humans mouth so you can actually enjoy the delicious flavors that's combined in that roll rather then take a bite and have it fall apart. 911 roll - perfection. And we took another roll that I completely forgot the name it had blueberry on top as a decor - seriously that was delish and because of that roll I would definitely go back because it's the type of roll you crave.. It was a nice visit , the company definitely makes a difference and the service is what puts the chery on top. Everyone is so nice and clean and polite and most importantly honest! We love to enjoy some gin cocktails but the waiter was so dead honest about just sticking to basics because he told us that the cocktails really aren't the best.. how often do you get that at a restaurant??? For me that was love at first sight - honesty. So we took the classic gin tonic which was very yummy.

Our besties took us here and introduced us to Maiko every time we visit them. foods here is absolutely exquisite! Excellent customer service, Everything we ordered was so delicious and beautiful decorations. Each dish has their own special flavor and flowers decorations. Love their steak, so tender, juicy, medium rare as requested, seared to perfection, melted in your mouth.

Wow! I truly didn't believe we had this good sushi in the West Island. I had a fantastic meal with my wife and another couple. Incredible sushi, the photos don't do it justice. We also had a rib steak to share which was surprisingly delicious considering it's not a steakhouse. The tempura mushroom fries with the truffle mayo are to die for. Also tried a few specialties like the lobster sushi and a couple others, all delicious. Had multiple drinks, couple bottles of sake and lots of food for just under 300$, for the 4 of us, very fair. This one is solid, stop but without any hesitation!

Excellent food, fish is always fresh! Amazing service. Great ambiance but music seems to be a little bit loud! Love their specialties! They are always packed so make sure you call and reserve in advanced! Thank you to Ty & Pat, the best waiters; Thuy, Chef Maiko & all of her team!

I think they just left it on the counter in a bag the whole time instead of a fridge, or they gathered older pieces and threw them into our order, because the rice was hard and crunchy while others overly soft, and the avocado was brown instead of green. Maybe they thought we were not going to complain since it was take out? BITCH! I'M COMPLAINING! Now, I've ordered sushi from other places before, left it in my own fridge overnight, and it was still yummy the next day. That is why I feel something funny happened with this order, because the rice was hard for alot of pieces, while others were too soft. Kamakazee was soft, no flavor in everything, and avocado was brown and blotchy instead of a healthy green. The only thing that was good, was the pickled ginger and the fact that their little cups of soy sauce was actually enough for each person. And they gave plenty of ginger and wasabe. All this is where they earned their 1 point rating I'm forced to give them. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a big sushi expert. I frequent all-you-can-eat sushi, so I know what to expect. I was always a big fan of Kanda's back when they were near Fairview. I looked online and saw they were the cheapest for take out on large orders, so tried them out on their sources location. Very sad. This was supose to be a surprise for my sister, who just delivered a baby, and didn't want to go out yet. She's been craving sushi for a year lol and... this was what we brought her lol she barely touched it... and was too polite to complain. She is not a sushi expert either, since she use to adore coming with us to these cheap all you can eat sushi places... This was bad. Very, very bad. I have not tried this locations' indoor all-you-can-eat, but I'm scared to now. They don't seem to care. Well... fk you too then, right?

Although you will find that (not stale though), and it's pretty good, if you have time for a proper sit-down meal, you will be pleasantly surprised to find some of the better sushi in the city. Here are my favourites: - 911 - Sweetheart - Philly - Saumon épicé - Inferno - Smoky (All of that costs about $50 tax-in). This sushi is seriously GREAT. I have but one complaint about the restaurant, and that is that it's sub-zero in there. And I mean like, arctic-cold. Year round. In summer, I have to bring a sweatshirt. And in winter, nothing will do. Tonight I had to wear my jacket, a huge scarf around my head and neck, and leather mitts (not the easiest to eat with chopsticks but kudos to me, I did it!). They actually have air conditioning going all year round. A constant cold blast of air coming from the vents, which you can't avoid no matter where you sit. I truly don't get it. Speaking of sitting, they have some cute little tables with comfy couches and arm chairs to sit in... There are only a handful of tables in the place, but never more than 1-2 tables are occupied when I've been here. I think a lot of people do take-out. Anyway, dress for the North Pole and head over to this sushi shop and you'll walk away cold on the surface but warm on the inside from having had some seriously tasty eats.

We were seated in the semi private area which has two tables and can accommodate 16 people comfortably... Maybe 2 more if you squeeze a bit. Drinks: I decided to embrace the unique experience by ordering a Ramune pop where you have to punch down a glass bead so that you can pour the soda. It's served into a glass with a lime flavored popsicle to give it extra flavor. Ordering: the way the menu works is that everyone gets the same things included with their meal. The only thing different is the protein ordered. - Onion broth: thin but oh so packed with umami flavor! - Salad: pretty good with light vinaigrette - Mushrooms: mmmhh fried and covered in soy sauce - Shrimp: delish and drown it in the tangy dipping sauce - Mixed Veggies: helps balance all the meatiness - Addictive ground ginger soy sauce: can eat this with everything! - Tangy chili sauce: love the flavor - Bowl of rice - Orange creamsicle ice cream: yay for ice cream! - Cup of Jasmine tea: wash down all that flavor The meats: with 3 choices of beef from least to most expensive--Beef Samurai, Sirloin, Filet Mignon. I went middle of the road with the sirloin but was able to taste the filet mignon off my friend's plate. Conclusion: filet mignon cut up in cubes had a rich beefy flavor that comes from the fat in the meat that is seared. It's really good, super tender and juicy. The sirloin also cooked and cubed has a flatter taste but still really tender and delicious. If budget is not an issue, go with the filet mignon, your taste buds will be singing! Staff was friendly and polite. The cooks, depending who you get make their own jokes to entertain you while cooking. Our cook did this knife flipping thing with his chef's knife into it's holster several times like it was nothing. I could just envision myself trying that and losing fingers and toes in the process!!! Overall, it's just a touch pricey but I loved the experience! We were all very satisfied. It's good sized portions guaranteeing that nobody will leave hungry. The place filled up by 6pm where every table was occupied. I will go back again!
