It was my first time coming to Matsuno and it won't be the last. (Make sure to make a reservation, especially if you have a bigger group, just to be safe). We went as a group of ten for a friend's birthday and even with a bigger group, the service was insanely quick. It was almost like they had a machine in the back making all of the food because for such a large quantity to make, it was served within minutes. The food itself was SO good- I think we ordered 3 or 4 rounds of it. (I don't think many of us will be able to move easily this morning). There was nothing I tried that I didn't like. From the assortment of sushi and calamari to the general tso chicken and other meat and shrimp, noodle and vegetable dishes- we were one happy bunch. The waiter was so kind and handled our group as though it was no sweat. Even when a wine glass was accidentally broken, he didn't make us feel bad about it at all. Wow wow and wow. Finaly a high quality sushi all you can! Usualy when I go to a sushi all you can eat, the main attraction is salmon sashimi and beef ribs. Here, I feel like they are overshadowed by other dishes because the others are all soo soo good!!! A big shoutout to their chinese style wrapped pork belly because for the first time in Montreal, I tasted home! It's the kind of taste that I only experienced in restaurants back in china. And I get to experience it here in a japanese all you can eat? What! Hahhaha. Their ribs are cooked on a grill so it's zero grease unlike all other all you can that cook them in a pan. Sashimi is fresh and tender. Dragon eye: an actual dragon eye, they took the time to wrap the sushi so that it looks like a dragon eye! Oh god, the details is amazing. Great spot for all you can eat sushi in the West Island! Everything is always tasty and the service is great. My favorite part of the meal has to be the fried flour desserts (order them with ice cream!). Just be careful about what time you go. They get really busy at lunch, so there may be a long line up to get in. But in my experience, once seated, we still got our food really quick. Good parking too!! I went here with a friend and I found that the food was good. The place got crowded very fast. We showed up around 11:45am for lunch and we got a seat right away but 30 minutes later, there were people waiting to be seated. Unlike Sushi St-Jean a few blocks away, there is plenty of parking in front of Matsuno. Matsuno is an AYCE (All You Can Eat) sushi place where you pick your tickets from a piece of paper and they bring the items to you. I found the food to be good but I wasn't overly impressed with the service since we had to ask for our items (soup at the beginning and ice cream at the end) a few times before these items were brought to us. I found that the food was very good. Excluding the fact that we had to ask for our soup (at the beginning) and our ice cream (at the end) multiple times, I didn't have any issues. If they were better with bringing the items, I would rank them 5 stars. read more

Another AYCE sushi joint in West Island! I've tried many all you can eat sushi places all over Montreal, and this would be one of my new favourites. Their fish (especially sashimi) tasted pretty fresh and their sushis were delicious and the perfect size. What surprised me the most was their fried chicken katsu, which was quite flavourful and not dry. Their teriyaki's may not be the best, but their other menu items make up for it. And lastly, they have a good variety of ice cream, even offering fried ice cream for 5$ extra. Coming on a Saturday evening, ofc will be packed but the wait time for a seat didn't take too long. Despite other reviews, the waiters were pleasant but were all over the place, so it took almost an hour just to pay and leave. Overall, this place is a good AYCE sushi joint in West Island to try out! If you're a group of 4 or more, reservations would be a good idea. read more

Well if you are into Japanese cuisine as I do, you might get your self-disappointed! As much as I enjoyed the presentation of the dishes and the bright colours I'm still keen on how it would taste which was a challenge at Matsuno. Its fairly priced for an all you cant eat but still, you can't compromise on quality at least in my book. One aspect I couldn't get my head around it is that we had to wait to be seated as the restaurant was full (during lunchtime) and when we eventually got a table little pass 14:00 we come to know that the kitchen close at 14;30 and this will be our first and last order! read more

For an all you can eat sushi spot this is great. I was a very big fan of Sushi Crystal downtown, but after trying Matsuno I can't go back (unless I have to). I love the variety of the sushi, entrees, desserts, everything! I've come many times when it's crazy busy, and calm and both environments they're very quick with service. I don't feel I have to wait long. The drive to Matsuno is a little far for me but it's worth the drive. They don't take reservations the day of (on the weekend) which is a bummer, but I think that's really the only con I have. read more

Tried this AYCE last week so we didn't get to have the weekend specials but I got a good taste of their sushi and sashimi and I thought they were very good and fresh. I loved the porc belly as well and the peanut butter chicken was excellent. Service was efficient and fairly quick. It was very busy but we did not have to wait to get seated on a Wednesday night. They do not take reservations. Parking is good! I would go back! Price is 26,99 on weekday and 29,99 on weekend so I think it's more worth it to go on a weekend ! read more

Matsuno Sushi Fusion is most definitely the best All-you-can-eat sushi restaurant in the West Island. Their lunch, dinner and weekend prices are all very reasonable and the quality of food in next level. There are many different options to choose from besides the raw fish so even people who don't necessarily like sushi very much can eat other alternatives. They even have a sushi roll with chicken inside instead of fish and it's great! The quality of the fish is second to none here in the west. The variety of nigiri and maki rolls is very big. The individual pieces are made very well and do not fall apart and they all taste great. Other neighbouring sushi restaurants near Matsuno such as Sushi St. Jean and Moshi Sushi do NOT compare. If there was one complaint I could make it would be forgetting one menu item that we had ordered. However, once asking the waiter about it, they jumped on it immediately. Matsuno Sushi Fusion is definitely worth it and you will have a great experience. Consider it on your next sushi outing if you don't want to travel very far. read more

When they first opened, the food was incredibly to die for. You could order on an iPad whatever you wished and there were endless selections. We went again today and they samsung pads now, which doesn't bother me. However the menu on it is extremely limited. You can't even get avocado rolls, or cucumber rolls anymore. ATMOSPHERE: It's very nicely decorated with a modern look. It's clean as well and is decently sized. You order on tablets which make it a lot easier to browse the menu and order. FOOD: This is my go-to spot for sushi. They have the freshest fish in the West Island and probably any other all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant that I've ever been to. They also display their sushis as if you were in a higher-end restaurant as well. I do find their fried sushis too greasy though compared to other restaurants. At dinner time, you can order salmon tartar (which is delicious) and you can order torched salmon sashimi which is honestly the best thing I've ever had. My mouth waters just thinking about it! PRICE: Lunch time and dinner time prices are the standard prices compared to all the other all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants. It stands out better than other all you can eat sushi restaurants, it also looks clean! The service is quick and the staff were very helpful. I'm picky, especially when it comes to seafood and sushi. I've always loved the "all you can eat" styles and love that it actually satisfies me. I do prefer "a la catre" for reasons of freshness and taste... but after trying this place.. they got me. Going to kanda and sushi st jean many many many.....many times. I wanted to change and find a place where I can try new sushi from a different style. The place looks really nice and modern will spaces for big parties or just with your significant other. The food is really good and seems to be at it's best when the time counts (dinner time rush). Spicy tuna, salmon and their variety of hot dishes and raw fish where good! Cons. Now I don't usually say this but service was a little bit everywhere... I know all you can eat can be very hectic but I feel that they should have 1 or 2 waiters per section to avoid asking the same question to 5 different waiters and getting different answers from all of them. My friend recommended this place, so my family and i decided to give it a try today. We arrived at 12:30 and the place was full. The hostess told us there is a 30 minutes wait, so we decided to be patient. While we were waiting, i noticed that there was customers who were eating there alone or with another person on tables made for 4. Also, there was a big group of people sitting on joined tables made for two. I guess if they organised that in better way, customers wouldn't have to wait too long to get a table. Anyways, after 30-35 minutes, we got our table. Food: very very good! We really were surprised by the quality and the presentation of the plates. They don't toss the food on plates and bring it to you, they take the time to make it look nice. They have many choices and you can feel the freshness in everything. Service: Pretty good service even if they were really busy. They have a lot of staff and they are really kind. They are very fast and don't leave empty plates on the table for too long. This is definitely my all-time favorite AYCE sushi spot in Montreal. Although prices are pretty much the same as any other sushi buffet, their quality of ingredients, presentation and menu options surpass any other spot I've been to. I love their sashimi cuts, their different variations of maki and their torched salmon is amazing. Their cleanliness, service and atmosphere are also superior. I'm a HUGE fan of this place! Not only are they great at handling my fiesty mom, but they have an amazing location and the food is as good as it gets when it comes to ayce sushi. Something fishy happened though. I remember writting a good review for this place ages ago when I first came, and now their original yelp listing is gone along with my review and this new listing is now here, unclaimed. I suspect something happened and I smell a clever coverup, because I noticed upon my recent visit that their menu has changed. I mean of course I still like it, but they don't have the same stuff as they use to, like the sushi with the fish liver moose ontop which was all of our favs, and a few other dishes too. It would make sense that they down-sized the variety of their menu because not only is that expensive for the restaurant at no increased profit from customers, but I felt the staff were really stressed over it. When I went recently, it felt like the staff were much more relieved and worked fluidly, eventhough the place was packed as always, so I'm happy for them. I can live without those other items since they still kept the main theme food and enjoyment. It is still just so dam good :) The only thing my table didn't like was the steamed "bread" for desert. They said it was amazing last time, but this time it wasn't, as it tasted more like bread dough and less like pastry such as the previous times. I was never interested in trying it since I'm always more interested in the crispy version. A discretion happened among our guests without the staff noticing. I was worried they would later and blame it on the wrong person after we would have left, so I tipped them extra, told them about it on my way out and apologized, and they were really cool about it. Just wow. I was really impressed with this all you can eat sushi place. I went with people who have experienced a lot of all you can eat sushi places and they also liked it. The food, mostly the sushi and the lamb skewers were simply incredible. Another thing to note is the speed of the service. Usually in an all you can't eat place, you order and in between the time they bring the plates you have time to finish the first one and digest before they bring the next one. Not here. The service was so fast we were not able to finish the plates before the new one got to our table. At one point we did not even have enough place on the table for the plates. read more

We came here for lunch on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised. The place is clean and the service is quick (with the exception of our last order of dessert which took way longer than expected). Food is good for AYCE sushi. By 1h30 pm there was a line up so get there early if you can. Tip for restaurant management: The quicker you serve the desserts, the quicker the table will clear for new customers. Please pay close attention to this.
