    Notary Seal
    Kelsi W.

I don't even want to really get into it but I had "the most uncomfortable exchange" with the owner's daughter, Renu Ahluwalia. Renu is the Notary Public for both Mail Connexion LLC (which I experienced today) and Playa Postal Center. Their team doesn't have the best communication, and Renu has some of the worst service I've ever experienced. I was contacted by a representative of the company on the day prior and was informed that they had documents awaiting my signature that they had been commissioned to notarize. After they elaborated on the documents and shared who hired them I knew exactly what they were for and made my appointment to sign them. The caller informed me that the cost would be taken care of and I would just need to show up at my appointment and sign them. I got to my appointment three minutes late, however I called them 20minutes prior to my appointment to share that I may be late, the rep on the phone asked if I could give them a specific time for how late so I just gave myself a fifteen minute window - for 11:15am. When I got there at 11:03am their clerk told me I called and said I would be running fifteen minutes late so she told the Notary Public she could be fifteen minutes late... It seemed odd but I accepted that and said "okay" and just listened to my music until the Notary Public arrived. Renu arrived a little after 11:25am, she apologized for being late, and asked if we could get started. Once we got underway it was quickly revealed that Renu didn't know papers were waiting for her 11am appointment, nor did she have a clue to where they were placed. However, their clerk quickly extinguished that issue located the documents and directed Renu to them. Then while filling the forms out she shared the price I would need to pay, I informed her the same person that called about the documents shared with me that the price would be covered by whomever originally furnished them with the documents. Renu immediately called whomever it was I spoke to and put them on speaker phone and we quickly realized their was a misunderstanding. So I inquired if their notary fee was the average fee in CA, because the last time I went to get something notarized it was a lower fee. Renu told me that everyone charges that amount now and I said okay I would need to go to the ATM and come back. This is when things really started to bother me (mind you, nothing had been filled out yet): Renu told me Bank of America was right out the door I could go their, I told her Chase is on the other side of the plaza and that I would go there since I bank there. At that moment Renu started to get an attitude and told me she has nothing to do with the documents I was there to sign, she's just a notary public and she needs to leave at noon. I told her I understood that and just wanted to go to the ATM so I could pay for the fee, Renu then doubled down and begin to explain to me what a Notary Republic is and how they are meant to be a integrity filled bipartisan person for the state, I reiterated that I understand and would still need to go to the ATM. Renu then exalted "well then how long are you going to be because I have to leave at twelve?!" I said, "ma'am, no matter what I still have to go to the ATM, which is in the same parking lot as we are right now, so it shouldn't take long, I can't tell how long it will take, but I will go get my money so I can come back and complete this transaction". She deeply exhaled and then I said "now we have less time than when I first said I needed to run to the ATM..." It was 11:33pm when I looked at my phone. When I came back with my cash I waited patiently for her to finish with her current client, once she was free I approached the counter and said "before we get started I just want to say that earlier that was the most uncomfortable exchange I've ever had, and I don't think it needed to happen". Renu replied by saying "that was uncomfortable for me too". We quietly completed our transaction, signed and stamped documents, and when we finished I asked her for her business card - I knew at that moment I would be sharing that uncomfortable experience with someone. I hope this helps someone, including Mail Connexion LLC and Renu with her family owned business.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE BY THE BUSINESS OWNER!!!. If you are going to open a business in our neighborhood, have the decency to treat the demographic you serve with respect. THE OWNER OF MAIL CONNEXION, Mr. Joginder S. A., IS VERY RUDE!! I had initially gone to the nearby Bank of America to utilize their free notary services that are available to their customers. But as BoA was busy, I went MAIL CONNEXION nearby to get a new business license registration notarized ( . . . yes, on a side note, I am doing very well business-wise and am expanding because I value ALL customers). Let me preface my review by saying that I have a doctorate level of education and have two private businesses in addition to my current work that pertains to my professional degree. I only provide that preface to say that I am fully capable of reading instructions on a form and that also as a small business owner, I appreciate the importance of RESPECTING ALL YOUR CUSTOMERS, no matter who you think they are. So now for my experience, I walk into MAIL CONNEXION and I am pleasantly greeted by the young lady who works there. Unfortunately, the business owner Mr. Joginder S. A. didn't bother to greet me. He was helping a caucasian customer with notary services and I assumed he may have been too focused on helping someone else to take a second to greet incoming clients. I watched the business owner of MAIL CONNEXION, Mr. Joginder S. A., provide friendly notary services to the caucasian client (who paid $30 by the way) ahead of me. I eagerly approached after being signaled I was next, obviously expecting to receive the same friendly, and courteous customer service I had just witnessed. I provided him with the 4-page document that I needed notarized. The forms came with instructions which I also provided. In giving the notary, who is also the business owner of MAIL CONNEXION, Mr. Joginder A., my forms, he rudely told me that "it's not his job to guide me in how to fill out forms". He rudely asked that "I make sure I complete my section of the documents before asking for his notary services". He said the latter while gesturing with his hand shooing me to the side of the counter. I was seriously taken aback by his rude and condescending tone. I politely explained to him that I was giving him the forms as he needed to witness me filing them and signing them, prior to him notarizing. In genuine confusion, I asked him why, his tone towards me was less than pleasant or helpful, and he admitted he was "a bit irritated" and thus less polite, or patient towards customers (don't know)???!!!! He was very abrupt, never apologized for his demeanor and at one point stopped helping me to have a conversation with a man in the store who was a security guard. As a new customer, I paid a total of $65 for notary services and shipping the documents. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. I ALWAYS TRY AND SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES, BUT THIS BUSINESS DOES NOT DESERVE MY HARD-EARNED DOLLARS.

The owner is extremely rude. He yelled at me when I called to handle a situation with my package. Won't be going back.

Way better than going to the post office! Mail connection is much faster and there's not as many people there.

The person on the other end of the phone began to chastise me about me calling about a notary 3 minutes before closing, and that they don't have people just sitting around to "catch" a job, and why didn't I make an appointment. We got "disconnected". I specifically chose a business in my community and I wanted to support a small Black business, a waste of time and effort at this place. I will gladly take my business elsewhere. Judging from the other reviews, this type of service is the norm for them.

The owner, is a VERY rude elderly African American woman (who is named Kat) , I had a box with her for quite sometime. It was not the best experience, I won't go into a lot of detail because it became quite personal for me. However, if you piss her off guess what? Good luck proving someone is hiding your mail or holding it with malicious intent. How do you not piss her off? Let me know when you find out. If you're going to use a mailbox service, be sure it is one you can check on your OWN and no one but the mailman has access to. Also, I closed my box a very long time ago (APR.21') give or take a month and she called me today telling me I'm past due on my box. I said I closed that box over two years ago, she replies "and reopened it" , no I did not. She hangs up in my face. Still the same crude old lady she was when I was vulnerable and homeless. If you're already going through things and just don't need the extra bull, do not go here.

They helped me with tape, helped me get the box wrapped and ready, and were patient while I figured out what I wanted to do. This location stays busy, which to me is a good sign, and every time I have come in they have treated me well. The only reason I am giving this visit 4 stars instead of 5 is the shipping cost. To send a box of basketballs was going to be around 200 dollars, and I just could not justify that. That is not really their fault, more the cost of shipping, but in the end I decided not to send it and ended up carrying it on the plane with me. Service and friendliness here are very good, and it is a solid place to go when you need shipping help. I am giving this UPS Store 4 stars.

Customer service was fine, no complaints there. But when they rang me up and said $62, I had to pause and make sure I heard right. Sixty-two dollars... to ship a box that wasn't even heavy? I tried to make it make sense. I even pulled one of the items out and mailed it separately -- and that alone still cost me $32 and some change. For one small item. I understand prices have gone up everywhere, and shipping isn't what it used to be, but this felt over the top. I actually stood there debating whether to ship it or just drive it to her myself. UPS is convenient -- I'll give them that. But these prices? They make you think twice... and then think again. Good service means a lot, but fair pricing matters too.
