I love the folks that work here. They are so kind and helpful every time I go. So happy to have a full service postal stop like this here.

We have a very small business and, a few years ago, we decided that we could run it from our home as we didn't need to have an outside office anymore. However, we didn't want to advertise our home address, so we looked for a private mailbox center near us. Playa Postal Center fit all the boxes. The price is fair, especially when you pay for 6 month or a year at a time. Over the years, we took advantage of some of their other services, such as package notification, shredding, shipping, notary services, etc. It feels as though they try hard to give the customer whatever they might need. We appreciate the fact that you can come get your mail at night or over the weekend, and also the proximity to other businesses like The Good Pizza (not just for pizza!!!), Dale's Jr Market and Yum Yum Donuts... But I digress. The people are very nice and professional, and I like the selection of items they sell. Never had a problem, only good solid service. read more

Understaff or maybe it was the time of day when everyone one needed to take their break. My pkg was scanned but for some reason there was a delay compared to another UPS store where I mailed a pkg the next day. Not worth stopping there even though it is the closest one to me. read more

Just plain rude! The employee at the front gave me such a hard time trying to return something I bought at the store. I came back 3 times because the lady working there told me the owner (who was the only person who could do exchanges) would be there at a certain time. Every time I came back, the owner was nowhere to be found. The employee was extremely rude. She never helped with the return, and instead told me to get whatever I wanted as an exchange. Passport pics were only $11, took 10mins. Then I realized I need copies of tax ret'ns. No problem. Oh, I needed stamps too ... again no problem. They had that as well. It is a 1-stop shop for document services. Like everything in Playa, this place is chilled. Playa Postal Center is the BEST. During the worst of the pandemic they were extremely accommodating (as I am high risk). I have always been grateful and appreciative. But never as much as I have been this week. I sent an extremely important package via FEDEX -- and it appeared to have been in terminal transit due to the fact that I had the wrong address. Playa Postal kindly reassured me -- researched the problem, fixed it, and within less than 30 hours it reached the desired destination. I am forever grateful for their kindness and dedication. This is a response to the completely dishonest bad review by Cameron V. from Los Angeles who apparently had a package he sent returned due to some problem with it's contents. I am the guy he refers to as "some gnome guy with round glasses". Cameron V. was rude, disrespectful and borderline hostile and yes i did step in. The truth of the matter is he was trying to get something for free and argued with the proprietor for 15-20 minutes while everyone in the store had to wait and listen to his nonsense. HIs feeble minded logic was nonsense. The package was sent and paid for and it was returned for some sort of violation of items such as batteries or other banned items yet he aggressively argued with nonsensical logic was that he already paid and wanted it re-sent for free at the cost of the mail center or his money refunded. Everyone knows that Mail Centers are not the Post Office or Fed-Ex or UPS but rather providers of the service as a third-party and do not make the rules. Everyone in the store who was subjected to his abuse either left or suffered as he exhibited immature temper-tantrum of a misplaced youth. His behavior was immature, his physical presence was unkempt and he reeked of wacky tobacky. If anyone wants to chat i can be reached at 310-395-7425. I hope the owner of Playa Postal reads this. I went in for a simple fax to send ( my machine at home needs repair). I waited patiently for the gentleman in front of me to complete his business. It took forever ( waited patiently for a solid 10+ minutes on my lunch break from work) but I get it, he needed to send something and wanted to be sure it was right. I had no problem waiting. However once the employee helped me she took me to the fax/ copy machine and wanted me to figure it out on my own. I asked her to help me and she begrudgingly set it up- left me no further instructions. She scurried away to help 2 other people who came in way after me. I had to yell across the store to find out when I'd know fax was complete. Then when I was done and needed to pay I waited at the counter and she kept waiting on other customers . I finally had to yell out again "Can I pay for this?!" I asserted to her that I had already waited such a long . She then yelled out for all to hear " I am all by myself here!" She repeated that 3 times. I had to remind her that she needs to be fair- the next customer in line deserves full attention- just like the gentleman in front of me. So if the owner is reading this please get your employee some help. There was no line- very few customers - but she insisted that she was ignoring my presence because she needs help. Her behavior was unprofessional, disrespectful and just plain horrible customer service. I will no longer do business at Playa Postal. Unfortunately, I have to agree with Crissy F's review. I gave this postal center several tries because of the convenience, but each time I feel like I've been ripped off and there is no way to tell how much you'll pay or how things are being priced. I just went in to send a package to a friend in Florida. She had just sent me a heavier, bigger package and paid $12.50. There is no justification for why I paid over $17 on a smaller box that was significantly lighter in weight. I went in and specifically asked for the cheapest way to ship. When I mentioned the above and situation their responses were shady. She said without tracking it was a couple dollars cheaper. Did I ask for tracking? No. Did I ask for the cheapest shipping? Yes. Feel ripped off everytime I've come in to mail anything. And why would anyone mail anything if every single time you ship your light as air package costs way more than what's inside. Parking: Easy. This is the worst postal place to go now since the new owners bought this place. It has become so disorganized - cannot tell where anything goes anymore. There are NO signs of where to put things. I came to this postal center to send back 4 big parcels. The girl who works there was so busy with other things and literally she didn't want to serve me. Finally She began to count the cost of the shipment and after the first package said that the shipment would cost $ 171 for one package weighing about 2 pounds. Of course, I refused to send them and went to FedEx where they charged me 80$ for all 4 packages. The girl just did not want to work and decided to lie me so that I would refuse to send parcels at all. Terrible service will never go back there. read more

My review is for dropping off packages only. This place is within walking distance of my house and is so convenient because I don't have to go all the way to UPS or FedEX or even USPS. I have been coming here for years! I'm all in for supporting small business, however today I was treated so rudely by the woman with shoulder length hair. She was loud and condescending to me as I was looking for the fed ex drop off. While there was a line, she singled me out loudly stating, "You seem like you're in a rush so just give me your package" her tone and attitude was absolutely unacceptable and unwarranted! Poor customer service. I'm all for supporting small businesses but not this one. I've given them multiple chances because I live close by, but no more. The last straw was they printed a incomplete shipping label and my package was returned to me. Even though all they had to do was copy the address I put on the package. The woman who works there wouldn't even acknowledge she did anything wrong and blamed me for not double checking her work. I bought a t-shirt there yesterday. Went back to return it today, and the (owner/manager?) woman that runs the place told me that due to Covid she can't take it back(unlike Kohl's, Walmart, and all the other stores that allow it). She didn't stop me when I was touching the other shirts to get the desired color at the time of purchase. There's no sign and it's not mentioned at the time of purchase. After mentioning that, she gives me some story about "someone just bought one the other day, and asked if it would be okay to return it, and I told her that it wasn't." So basically saying that it's my fault for not asking if it would be okay to return if necessary. The best part is, she runs the store, manages it, and has this whole conversation with me and seems to always operate the store without wearing a fucking mask! read more

Never go to the post office again, this is the one shop stop and they do everything here. I've mailed packages I've gotten cards here, I have done my passport photo here, getting boxes from here and have use their computer even. This place is amazing and I will never go somewhere else. I know this is not what you usually go to a postal center for, but Playa Postal Center, and the BEST, most unique selection of greeting cards - unlike the usual ones you see everywhere else. The owner asked which ones we like, because she said she hand-picks them. I also love the beautiful Adajio earrings they carry, which are made by a company in Colorado. Until now, I've only found them in Colorado online. The owner was so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended! read more

I am going to miss this place. I have had PO boxes many times, but this is my favorite place. I moved work and home out of Playa del Rey, so I terminated my mailbox. This is a neighborhood hangout. The owner, and employees, are friends and so kind. They do so much more than their job calls for. They sell office supplies, printing, nick knacks and more. I needed to send some fragile items to Northern California and I remembered how helpful this place was when I needed a notary. This place is like the Swiss Army knife of stores. They have cards, calendars, PO boxes, gifts, all type of packing materials and notary & passport photo services. The staff is very helpful. It got pretty crowded so I let other people cut in front of me since I needed my items packed and boxed. A large amount of locals came in and were familiar with them. That is always a good sign. Shawn packed up my shipment. Told me the options (costs & tracking) of using UPS over USPS. A nice convenient place to ship out packages especially if you dont like waiting in line at the post office. read more

I came here during a weekday in hopes of avoiding the rude customer service the post office serves up. Negative! This place has incompetent employees and is extremely overpriced. I came in with a small package to mail to Mexico. Nothing too complicated. I didn't want a tracking number or anything special. I just wanted to mail a package! 2 people were working and they were helping customers when I arrived. After a 15-20 minute wait, someone finally helped me and had great difficulty figuring out how to mail a package to Mexico. To top it off, it cost me over $40! That's over 3 times as much as the post office costs. I'm all for supporting small businesses but not this one. I do not see any advantage to coming here - the employees are not friendly, costs are at least double, and it isn't any faster or more efficient than the post office. read more

UPDATE: I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH-- IF YOU WANT A LEGITIMATE POST OFFICE IN THIS TOWN, IF YOU DON'T AGREE WITH SEVERE CONVENIENCE INFLATION-- DO NOT SHIP HERE!!! They are causing the post office to offer less and less service due to less demand! Because the post office was closed today, on a SATURDAY, I was left with no choice but to ship with this terrible "business". If I'm paying for convenience, then I have a very hard time understanding why I had to wait behind a couple who had the one working person pack 3 packages for them. NO ONE in the line was happy about this, but since this is the only option in town, we are left with no option but to wait. To add further insult, they again charged me $10 over true postage. I have previously shipped with the exact same specifications at USPS, and was charged $7, but at Playa Postal? You guessed it-- $17!!! I guess in the future if I ship here (read: when pigs fly, when hell freezes over, when I can actually grow money from trees), I will just bring all my crap and have them pack my box like the inconsiderate couple before me, get my extra $10's worth. ----------------------------------------------- After living in the neighborhood for a year, I can attest to how much of a rip off this place is. I live a 5 minute walk from here, and 15 min walk from USPS, and will gladly walk the 10 extra minutes down the hill. I have had many experiences with this place and have truly experienced the various ways they overcharge, with one of the most ridiculous and insulting ways being their shipping. For example, the guy with the man-bun has lied to my face before and said that everywhere charges extra for tracking. Right, go to USPS and tell them you don't want tracking so you can have a cheaper rate, and they will tell you it makes no difference in their rate. But the bigger issue lies ahead. I went to go mail a 5lb box and asked for the lowest rate available. He replied that the cheapest option is USPS at $28 and something cents. Very suspicious, I politely declined and went down the hill. $18.75 at USPS with my tracking included. It's very interesting that that there is a $10 difference with a walk 10 minutes longer (or 2 minute drive). It's very upsetting for users on here to say support small business, bc a business like this is not what that message is about, and makes small biz look bad. This place is blatantly disrespectful to the residents of the neighborhood, and goes beyond charging for convenience. Instead, support USPS, which will improve it's service in this neighborhood with our demand directed towards them instead of Playa Postal. read more

After suffering through horrible service at the US post office in Playa del Rey, we finally threw in the towel and opted to pay for service at Playa Postal. They have been stellar ever since we rented our box. Always a friendly staff (Renu, in particular) there's a family feel to the place, where people know each other and everyone interacts with a warm, hospital vibe. After the rude, dismissive service at the PO, it was nice to deal with friendly, helpful staff who always go out of their way to get you what you need or provide whatever service they can. Yes, sometimes when it's particularly busy you may have to wait (as you would in any postal place), but in general I get in and out without a problem. Also, lots of great gifts, cards, supplies, etc., notary, copies, faxes, pretty much everything you could need. GREAT place! read more

Definitely not the most organized-looking postal center, but the two individuals behind the counter definitely get the job done. The front is where all the mailboxes are, with two counters for writing, prepping envelopes/ boxes, etc. Again, not very organized, but I don't use that area myself. You can drop off USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL packages here; plenty of packaging is available--just remember that most things they hand you to use, you have to pay a small fee for, which isn't unusual for a postal center. Usually, after you give all the address information, the guy behind the counter will enter all that, and then ask you what type of shipping you want to do, and will also recommend the cheapest/ best option for your item. There's a $0.50 charge for credit card transactions less than $10. Parking lot is shared with surrounding shops in the little strip mall area. The postal center sign is kind of easy to miss, but it's situated right next to the pizza place. read more
