On arrival we were greeted and seated promptly. It was a quiet Friday afternoon around 12:30 but it sounded like the night would get Busy with music starting at 6 pm. Cute interior with soft Country back music. Outside was decorated for Christmas. We are traveling from northern WI to FL and day 2 into our trip, I needed some good healthy food in my gut and this is exactly what I got. I had the salmon over rice and a baked sweet potato with butter and cinnamon. It was very delicious and tasted like my home Cooking. I had a lemonade that I couldn't drink but for a couple of sips so asked for a to-go cup. They brought me a nice size to go cup filled with lemonade which was nice, but I felt a little bad leaving the one on the table. My husband had the M&M burger with the works (bacon, cheese, tomato, lettuce and onion) and as his side he picked cheese grits because he knew I love them. They were very cheesy and better than most grits I get in FL. 1/3 of my lunch and 3/4 of the grits got boxed up for our hotel dinner tonight. My husband said his burger was ok, over cooked for him as we are use to our burgers with a little pink to them. But, he said on a scale of 1-10 it was a 6....a little an above average. I loved how they monogrammed their restaurant brand into the top of the hamburger bun. We found this place off of Yelp as we were traveling through and just happened to pick Lexington TN as a place to stop for lunch. They are finally open all week for lunch. Quaint surrounding, and not loud My wife and I have always had a problem finding a good place for lunch in Lexington. Especially since Baja Closed for the fire. We got a cheeseburger with fries and a Philly cheesesteak with sweet potato fries. Both were exceptional. Well prepared, plenty of meat, seasoned to the gods, and the buns were buttered and toasted. The sweet potato fries were exceptional. Service was prompt and courteous. Had a good dinner at Main and Monroe with my BFF on my birthday. Then we were planning to leave and our lovely server asked about dessert so we ordered a slice of cheesecake to split. It came out totally FROZEN. Solid. I couldn't push through it with the utensil. Haha. We just decided to skip it and leave. The "manager" told the server we had to pay for it. I will add by the time we paid and the lady next to us was asking questions about it being frozen we ended up sitting and chatting with her for a bit before leaving because of the topic at hand and the cheesecake finally was about to cut through but by that time and the attitude of the manager my appetite for it was GONE. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Main and Monroe. My cousin and I decided to meet up there for brunch, and we were not disappointed. My recommendation is to come early to beat the church crowd. We showed up around 10AM. The brunch menu at Main and Monroe offers a selection with lunch and breakfast options. The prices were reasonable, with most dishes falling between the $12 to $20 range, making it accessible for different budgets. I opted for lunch while the other folks in our party settled for breakfast. They full bar service they provided. It's always nice to have the option of enjoying a drink alongside a good meal, and trust me when I say I was surprised this was in Lexington. They have a good aray of liquors. I can't speak about beer or wine. The server was nice. She checked in as needed and took care of us in a way that was just attentive enough where it wasn't overbearing. The Art Deco design gives the place a unique and elegant ambiance that sets it apart from other establishments in the area. It's evident that a lot of thought and effort went into creating a stylish and visually appealing space that wasn't trying to replicate your typical farmhouse feeling type restaurant. No "live, laugh, love" signs in here. This place boasts of class and culture within its walls. Another interesting aspect of Main and Monroe is its ownership. I learned that it is owned by the Henderson County Mayor, which adds a local connection to the establishment. It's wonderful to see community figures investing in and supporting local businesses. Live music happens here regularly. Check the schedule to see who is playing. Since they're new, they're still building out other ways to engage the community. Music is always a great community builder. I am definitely coming back soon. It's my vibe! read more
