We were driving from Nashville to Memphis for our kids' sporting events and got hungry on the road. We searched for Italian places and found Picasso Bistro & Pizzeria. The restaurant has a nice outdoor patio that would be great for an afternoon meal or summertime dinner. Inside, the restaurant is spacious and has a separate bar area for adult fun. In the dining room, you also have a view of the pizza oven. We ordered garlic knots and cheese bread. The garlic knots were smothered in Parmesan cheese and came with marinara sauce. The cheese bread was deliciously made with the same sourdough bread as the pizza crust. It also came with three dipping sauces -- garlic olive oil, pesto, and marinara. The pizza was amazing with the sourdough base. We ordered a large pepperoni to share, a chicken Parmesan calzone, and a ribeye wrap. All three were so yummy and the portions were large enough for us to take leftovers with us. The service was prompt and friendly. When drinks ran out, they refilled them quickly. In total, we spent around $100 for the four of us, which is about average for a night out with full meals, appetizers, and a couple of beers. The house salad was a meal in itself especially with the cheddar cheese and bacon! I failed to take a picture because I dove into it. We started with the bacon wrapped shrimp... very good! The sweet spicy sauce had a nice lingering kick. I ordered the bacon wrapped filet and my husband ordered the rib eye, both cooked exactly as we like and not overly seasoned. As usual, we found this place on Yelp and we can't turn down pizza. The service was great, the food was amazing. The salads particularly were so fresh and the ranch dressing was so good. The crust of the pizza is pretty unique in texture and flavor and stands out against most other pizzas we've had. They cook it in a giant brick oven, which isn't uncommon, but whatever recipe they use of the dough results in a very crispy bite, even for just the regular hand tossed pizzas we had. Most pizza sauce just tastes good and compliments the experience of pizza. Here, it's the foundation of the pizza. It's fresh and you can tell. It doesn't have that canned taste. It tastes like mom made it this afternoon and it's been simmering since then. If you know pizza, you know the ONE thing that differentiates on pizzeria from another is the ingredients. If you appreciate quality, you taste it in the first bite at Picasso's. Usually at high quality pizza places, you have pay for the higher quality. I'm willing to do that all day. But here, the prices are about the same as run of the mill pizza places. So as far as I'm concerned, there's no reason to go anywhere else in town. Last thing I gotta say... I don't normally do the ranch thing with crusts. It's kinda gauche. But when our server asked if we wanted some, for some reason I said yes. So I gave it a try. Oh my gosh. They MAKE their own ranch! We stopped in Jackson for the night after traveling from Cleveland Ohio for the day. It was 8:45pm, on a Monday, when we arrived and were greeted by Brittany. I chose Picasso due to the Yelp reviews and it did not disappoint! Brittany was enthusiastic about the menu and their offerings. When she told me I could split my 10" pizza into two, I was thrilled! I ordered a hand tossed 1/2 Tuscan and 1/2 Pepperoni with hot honey! It was divine! The ingredients were fresh and the mix of toppings were perfect! Hubby ordered a salad he loved and we both had the house chardonnay. For a late pitstop, it was surprisingly yummy, clean and very friendly! It's evident they take pride in their establishment and hire staff who are happy to be there! We will now have Picasso, in Jackson, TN, on our short list when we are traveling through the area! We really enjoy Picasso's. The service is always on-point from the bartenders to the servers. We have enjoyed everything we have tried from their menu - the sidewinder fries are something special. It gets crowded, especially on Friday and Saturday nights and can get loud, but on comfortable nights sit outside and enjoy the breeze on the patio. Be patient on the nights you have to wait a little while, it's never NOT been worth it. read more

I really like the atmosphere at this location. I often go after work to unwind. They have a wonderful happy hour from 2pm to 6 pm. I get a nice size margarita for $3.50. The have daily weekday specials too. The staff is nice and professional. I love the pizza options and the tiger shrimp. With the pizza, you can also do half and half. No additional cost however if you order thin crust, it is an additional cost which is $1.00 Definitely do yourself a favor and check them out. The first I visted I had the Ahi tuna salad and I thought it was fantastic so next time I brought my wife for pizza and it was very dissapointing. The sauce has absolutley no taste and its like it came out of a can straight into the pizza. The toppings did not add much flavor. Fast food pizza places have better food. This last time we ordered garlic knots which had no taste of garlic and again the marinara sauce had no tase whatsoever. We basically had cooked dough dipped in water. My wife tried the pizza one more time to give it another chance and it was worse than the last time. Dear Picasso, I called your restaurant a few days before my dinner visit on Friday night and asked your hostess if you guys were taking covid-19 guidelines seriously. I was rest assured that this was absolutely the case. Happy to hear that this was such, I made the reservation. Upon my arrival from Nashville, my sister, her boyfriend, and myself walked in to find this not to be the case. In fact, your restaurant was far from taking the pandemic guidelines seriously. The Madison County mask mandate be damned. From the sardine packed bar with maskless standing patrons to back to back crowded tables, to say that I was uncomfortable was an understatement. Why did we not leave? I did not want to cause an irritation with my sister and her boyfriend since they just came to Jackson to celebrate me. I withstood my frustration the best that I could. Food was fine. Service was fine, but I was quite baffled to see one of the other servers get pull down her mask to communicate with a patron at the table beside of us. Like, why? She doesn't know if that patron have covid or vice versa. It was loud, you say? Then figure out an alterative! Do not pull down your mask! This was seen several times and not just by this one person. This was witnessed by us seeing more than one server doing this. Let's get to the part where I played masked Karen and approached the manager. One of the managers, was cutting stuff behind the bar in the restaurant side and was not wearing a mask at all. I asked why they were not adhering to the guidelines. His reply was that 'the servers only have to wear mask shields', and I said, 'no, I am talking about you'. Before he responded, another man (assuming another manager), immerged from behind a curtain who was wearing gloves. He had the mask hanging from his wear and had just put on some gloves. I asked him why he was not wearing his mask. He said, "I wanted to put my gloves on to put on my mask." My first thought is - what is the logic in that? You want to put on your gloves to put on your mask and then you are most likely going to handle food, therefore, you are touching your face then touching food/drink/dishes.... NO LOGIC. Now that I am done airing out my grievances, please for the sake of health of everyone who dines in your establishment to follow proper county and CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of your patrons.
