Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow for an empty bar and restaurant space. Pours are definitely measured to a tea because it's probably a corporate place. Ended up having to ask someone who wasn't our server to run our cards after 20 minutes waiting for our original server to come back after they dropped the check. The ambiance is very much family-oriented, which is fine, but I was just more disappointed with the lack of timely service when the space felt so empty. The food was mid for the cost of the appetizers. Also, went to the bathroom twice; each time I used a different stall and soap dispenser, but no toilet paper or soap. For a cheaper Dave and Busters experience, this may be a good place for kids to go. I'd probably rate it 2/5 because the workers were not super great and the tablets to load up the cards would sometimes not work or take forever. My husband ordered a drink at the bar that had red-hots and they just gave him the drink and said "sorry, no red hots".... Which was the only reason he got that drink. We did two-on-two laser tags (all adults) and that was fun. It was $11 per person though and one of the laser guns didn't work, so probably wouldn't do it again. They did have a variety of arcade games as well and some prizes you could redeem tickets for. We did a VR game but my husbands head had to look straight up the whole time or it wouldn't work... At one point. We played a game that wasn't working and when I went to tell someone, he told me to "make sure no one else plays it" like I worked there? I was so confused. Thankfully they did refund the card for that one game (but none of our other issues). My daughter wanted to go bowling for her birthday, so we tried the new Main Event at the mall. We paid to bowl for an hour and it took 45 minutes to get a server. We asked multiple people if we had a server and even went to the bar, but never had anyone help us. We ordered some apps and drinks but nothing showed up until 20 minutes after our bowling time expired. The service was so bad that it completely ruined the experience. The bowling isn't even real bowling because the pins are attached to strings. The place is very clean and offers a variety of things to do. We probably won't waste our time again. read more

Coming from Washington, D.C. where there isn't space for larger play zones, my seven-year-old daughter and I spent two hours at Main Event while visiting Grand Rapids. She loved it! Located inside the Woodland Mall, it's a larger space with bowling, laser tag, and lots of arcade games. Kiosks at the entrance walk you through how to access the games. As first-timers, we signed up for their newsletter on the website to get $20 extra credit. We then spent $58 more dollars on credit that comes on a card that cost $3. (If you plan to return, keep the card.) The arcade space comes with many games from Mario Kart to Twister to claw games with toys and tickets as prizes. The games do NOT dispense physical tickets, but loads points onto your card to be redeemed at a well-stocked store. To maximize points, avoid certain games. The giant claw game in the way back is hard. It only works if one of the ticket rings is fully flat. It costs 17 credits, which is steep compared to the other games. Most games cost 7-8 credits. The store to redeem your points comes with all sorts of brand candy and a few fun ones like jelly beans in "gross" flavors. There are stuffed animals, trinkets, and more. I am not a great bowler. I have been struggling to break 100 in bowling my whole life. I go once, maybe twice a year when I've built up the courage to try again. I went with some friends ready to finally break through. The keys for a good bowling performance are low stress and a few drinks. Our server told us he would be back in 5 minutes to get drink orders, and 40 minutes later he was back so naturally I was frustrated. Frustration does not usually help with your bowling performance! We ordered our drinks and it only took an hour and a half to get them... So you can imagine my stress level and frustration are pretty high at this point. 2 games of bowling with no drink. I think this goes without saying but I did not break 100. I hate to blame my performance on something other than myself, but surely the drink I ordered would've helped. It's hard to concentrate on your bowling performance when you're wondering where the heck your drink is. Our compensation was ... a voucher for another game of bowling! Pretty bad experience both times I've gone. The problems have not been fixed and remain the same after a little over a year. Major issues are the service and bowling conditions. The catering food was a bit rough as well The service is terrible. The bar if it was standalone would fail with the current staff. There were about 10 people around the bar and 4 waiting for drinks for about 25 min. Not an exaggeration. The design of the bar itself doesn't help for efficiency but for sure the bartenders were not efficient. Some would make eye contact and then deliberately go grab a random empty tray or something and walk away. Maybe they are understaffed but the ones they had were extremely slow. We ended up leaving and getting drinks at on the border. Id skip drinks or seriously lower your expectations. If you actually bowl then avoid this place. Floors are a disaster from people going down into the arcade or bar and then back to bowling. They are slippery to the point of being dangerous. Your first throw not expecting it could very well result in you falling. Its like they combined multiple businesses into one and have staff that has no idea how run their respective sections. Got there at 6 o'clock I didn't get seated till 645 and didn't get served until 7 o'clock. Didn't get our food until 8 o'clock. Didn't even get the bone and wings at the manager. Didn't do anything about it. I'm tired of this and I'm never going back there that's why they got a one star review because I was just trying to be nice but every time we go there it's the same way and try to be sassy because every time we just leave her a tip and then she acts do you want to change? We drove from Battle Creek with our grandchildren (ages 10 and 12). The food was very good and the bowling was enjoyable; however, the service fell far short of expectations. When we went into the restaurant for lunch, we waited approximately 15 minutes without being greeted. I eventually asked the bartender if we could be assisted, and he informed us that he was the only one working and would get to us when he could. He continued serving walk‑up drink orders rather than attending to the tables. I ultimately located a manager, who was very helpful, took our order, and delivered our food. Again, the food itself was excellent. Afterward, our grandchildren played arcade games and went to the prize counter to redeem their points. Many items did not have visible point values. They asked about a lava lamp and were told twice that it cost 1,200 points. After carefully selecting items based on that information, they were told at the counter that the lava lamp was actually 1,500 points. When I questioned the discrepancy, the staff member responded, "Well, we don't always know," and later added, "Not sure what to tell you." For a 10 year‑old, that kind of inconsistency is very disappointing. It's unfortunate that what could have been a great day ended on such a negative note. We were understanding of the fact that they had just opened and were most likely still short staffed, so we decided to give it another shot. This time, our server checked in shortly after we sat down and said he would be back in 5 minutes to take our order. 40 minutes went by before I decided to go up to the front desk and tell them we hadn't been served. Our server came shortly after, but we then proceeded to wait 1.5 hours for our drinks. We talked to a manager afterwards about this, hoping we could receive some sort of discount, and they offered us free bowling the next time we decided to come in. We came here for bowling with a friend and her daughter. We were walk ins on a Friday and were accommodated quickly. The drinks and food took a while but again it was a busy Saturday so totally fine. The ones that were on would take your credits but not work so essentially costing you 2-3xs the credits for one play. No employees near by to report issues to.
