We seemed to be on the same page with my goals and options and I valued her opinion. On 8/10 I had an appointment to discuss finally treating my ADHD. It took me years to even consider medication, but felt confident that she could help. Our session went great! She advised me of 3 different medication options. I am very sensitive to medications, so I requested the one that my son had done well with since I was already hesitant to try anything. She said she would fill it but warned me my insurance may not approve coverage. I understood and we left it as, if they declined the medication we would discuss something else. A week passed after that and I hadn't heard anything so I called and spoke with Ari. Med was declined but they were working on trying to get it approved and if not they'd help me find another option or maybe pay out of pocket. Ari was kind and helpful, even though she had to be the middle man for Tracy. After an entire MONTH of working with Ari to figure of WHAT medication Tracy was going to try since the preferred one was declined, WHAT meds my insurance will even approve, and even WHEN Tracy would let me know what we will be doing I finally left a VM that said hey, if we can't figure this out by the end of the week I'm just done. Short version- I started the drug 9/12 and by 9/15 I had high blood pressure, eye pain, confusion, and other concerning symptoms. I reached out Monday to schedule my follow up appointment and I asked Ari if I should be concerned of these symptoms, she PROMISED that she would have Tracy call me by the end of the day to make sure I was ok. She warned me to NOT stop the medication until I spoke with Tracy. By Wednesday by BP was even higher and I could hardly function. I called and Ari said "she didn't call you back yet?" NOPE. She said she would talk to her and get back to me. They were open until 7pm and still, NOTHING. By Thursday at 9AM I called multiple times and no one answered me so I left a very frustrated voice mail. Hello? Is this normal? Should I stop this medication? Why does no one return phone calls like this? Well to my surprise guess who finally called me? TRACY! I was so relieved she called and asked me what was going on. I told her my symptoms and she said to STOP the meds. Great, that's all I wanted to know! Then she asked me why I was calling so many times in the last month and that my behavior was super suspicious and she thinks my ANXIETY was CONCERNING TO HER. She said she has been "WATCHING ME" and then told me she intentionally was "PUMPING THE BREAKS" on HELPING ME because she saw I was communicating with Ari to figure out what the plan was. Excuse me? Did you just GASLIGHT your patient because you failed to effectively communicate a plan with me? I asked her why she didn't just call me and discuss that she felt concerned and she said she didn't talk to me ON PURPOSE. She admitted she was playing a MIND GAME with me. Absolutely not. Not only is that incredibly narcissistic, it is down right predatory. Tracy, you could kill someone with behavior as a psychiatrist like that. BE CAREFUL. Advocate for yourself and if you are starting a new medication have a back up plan in case she ghosts you and then blames YOU! Oh, and after she gaslit me she yelled at me, refused to let me talk, fired me, and hung up on me! Thank you for your professionalism. Unfortunate for me, I will never ever work with a psychiatrist again for mental health or medications. It was incredibly heartbreaking to hear her say those things about me and not take any ownership on how it was handled. Insinuating I'm crazy and that was justification for withholding care? I actually do think this is very out of character for her, but she definitely earned this one.

Her name is Katie Golly and SHE IS FABULOUS!!!! Katie is a true natural talent in the field of psychotherapy. She is not just a great therapist, but a very genuine person and a real source of personal support. Katie is especially keen on helping those of us who are LGBTQ and is a true friend to the entire community. You will find no judgement here but instead total and complete acceptance of who you are. Not only has my experience with Katie been excellent but the office staff is friendly, polite, kind and compassionate. The physical office itself is beautifully decorated with all sorts of cool colors and textures and shapes and just has fantastic energy from the moment you walk in! The person I spoke to was so nice and accommodating. I was able to go over with her my insurance information, and she explained what the next procedures would be. She sent me a questionnaire via email just as she said she would, and that I was to complete it and either send it back or bring it with me to my appointment. I was so happy I did that so that I didn't have to feel rushed completing it at the office. I went to the Barrington office which was closest for me, and easy to find. Parking was good. The front desk receptionist was very nice, everyone had masks on, and my wait wasn't long, before the doctor came to get me. I met with Dr. Karafa and his assistant. Both were very welcoming and relaxed me immediately. After going over my questionnaire and asking a few more questions, his assistant and I went to another room and began testing. She was as sweet as could be, and made me feel very comfortable. I was there a total of two hours, which went by fast. It was recommended that I bring someone else with me, but my husband had to work and I was by myself. It worked out just fine that way. Dr. Karafa scheduled a time and date for us to go over his findings via telephone, and he called me exactly on time and answered any questions that I had after thoroughly going over my report with me. I would recommend anyone to go to the Thomson memory and attention center, I'm sure your experience will be just as good as mine!

The professionalism, honesty, real and genuine concern was how things were handled. Dr. Karafa was outstanding, while meeting with my daughter he was patient, kind and helps her to do the best she could. The dialogue was open, direct and the way results were explained to my husbands and I helped us to understand what is going on with our daughter, and what our next steps should be. I didn't click with my previous therapist, and that's okay.. Nonetheless, I cancelled that service because it was not a good fit. Months later, I tried to have therapy again. I went in with the same expectation as before and wow was I blown away! Nicole got back to me the next day after my inquiry. I see Nicole and she has helped me realize things about myself that I never knew and a different perspective, but in a very personable way. I think there is one reason for my thinking, but she opens up a whole new realm of possibilities and that there is just not one reason for my behavior. She is never judgmental and is very easy to talk to - it's like you're talking to a longtime friend. When there are patterns you're talking about or something she wants to Segway on to change your thinking, it's never done in a negative way. I honestly cannot recommend her enough.

Complete Family Wellness has changed my life! After seeing 9 doctors and specialists within 12…read moremonths, I was ready to give up on the idea that there were any medical professionals left who would care to help me, let alone just listen to me before making medical decisions. Prior to my first appointment, I made the decision that Complete Family Wellness would be my last attempt at finding a medical professional to help me. The owner, and my provider Helen Muchow FNP-BC, FPA, APRN, MSN, changed my quality of life from 5% to 80% in my FIRST visit. We are currently working on the other 20% (mostly due to medical insurance roadblocks). Helen was not only professional, but actually LISTENED to every word I was saying, then took that information and developed a care plan WITH me, instead of just telling me what to do and sending me on my way with a prescription. I've been seeing Helen for over a year now, and her quality of care has not changed, even as she has taken over her staff's caseload as she is on maternity leave. I was a medical provider myself, so I understand the back-end (billing, insurance, etc). She does not rush through my appointment, like every other doctor/specialist I've seen, just to be able to see more patients in a day= more $$= $$ above "doing no harm." Most insurance companies will pay a higher rate for the first 15 minutes of an appointment, and a lower rate is paid for any time over 15 minutes. Helen takes the time to get her job done- above and beyond! Complete Family Wellness also has an on-site lab, so most standard blood work, and other labs can be done right away, during your appointment. Did I mention? Complete Family Wellness also has MOBILE services! They will come to you, in the comfort of your own home. Additionally, Helen is a veteran and accepts military insurance (Tricare West), which many providers do not accept due to Tricare's very low rates- yet another way she demonstrates how dedicated she is in helping people, and not treating us like cogs. On top of all this, Complete Family Wellness's staff are professional, very prompt in responding to any problems that come up between appointments, and make you feel like you matter!

Even my insurance company says they've never dealt with anyone like her. Truly. I have been seeing her in one fashion or another for many, many years. We were first introduced when my father was passing away from Alzheimers and she was a tremendous help at that point. I then started seeing Dr. Terbovic afterwards and she was also fantastic. Over time, due to insurance drama during Covid, I had to switch therapists and they were not even REMOTELY as amazing as Clocktower. In 2023 things changed again and I was able to start seeing Dr. Pitts again. Since that time, my life has truly been enriched by her kindness, direction, and ability to listen and provide guidance and expertise. I have gone through a handful of new situations over the last year and she has been there every step of the way. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to Clocktower for providing such fantastic support and feedback. I truly don't know where I would be without your incredible support! Side note - I noticed that there was a dramatic 1 star review for Clocktower and I kind of chuckle at it because it directly calls out pushing medication (?) however that is not something they even do here (LOL). They aren't psychiatrists, so I sort of laughed at that. It also calls out not being able to get a callback. That has NOT been my experience at all. Julie is beyond amazing (the office manager) and if I can't reach anyone the first time I call, she calls me back within a day or less. Ever since, I have seen her at different frequencies over the course of these ten years. She has seen me through early adulthood, first relationships, moves across the country, and so much more. She fosters comfort, allows judgement free zones, and has always ALWAYS helped with me invaluable tools that have helped me conquer my anxiety over the course of these years. I could not be who I am today without her help, guidance and advice. Clocktower as a whole has been fantastic to my family and friends. I've recommended many a therapist to my loved ones. I have family that sees Dr. Pitts - who is so incredible. Family that sees Dr. David. Friends that see Dr. Haeffele. The practice is solid. Julie (billing/appointments/administration) is always willing to work things out and go above and beyond for us. She is a joy to see and work with when insurances are being funky. The day Dr. Terbovic retires, is a day that I will be sorely heartbroken. But I will be forever grateful for her and the work we've done together.
