I stopped in because of a check engine light but I thought it might be the transmission slipping. The lady at the desk explained all her mechanics were about to go to lunch so rather than me wait for an hour and a half, could I come back or drop the car off. I explained I was new in town, so no drop off. When I mentioned the problem she told me to wait just a minute. She got the owner to test drive my car. After about 10 minutes he came back and said he did not experience any transmission problems and he cleared out the error code. He then explained what he thought the problem was and reassured me it would not leave stranded. He said if the light came back on to have it checked further but it was most likely what he thought. I went to pay and they both told me, "No charge." I was so happy, I cried. I will never take a car anywhere other than Main Street Automotive. read more

I took my car here to have work done, I went in with one problem and came out with another. I immediately knew something was wrong with my car when I picked it up, but it was the end of the day and had to wait until the next day. The dash vibrates and it sounds like something is rubbing. The tall guy acted like there was no issue and kept dismissing the noise I was pointing out. When he test drove my car with me in it, he bounced my front end off of a concrete dip and didn't say a word. Then they gave me an estimate to fix a broken motor mount and said "let's start there" like it was some new complaint I had that they didn't cause. I do not recommend this shop. The guy helping me was a fast talker and wouldn't acknowledge my complaint. Instead, they just took a video of my car and pointed out unrelated issues that were wrong. I paid $1100 for CV axles and they wanted another $500+ to fix the mount that wasn't broken when I brought it in there. And they said the mount wasn't a big issue that I could have it fixed at some later time that I wouldn't be stranded on the side of the road. Hello! Its a motor mount. The engine will rattle apart! The guy worked really hard not to own what they messed up on my car. read more

Wow!! Did not expect that!! As a regular customer they explained a problem my corvette had and didn't even charge me to look at it. I honestly don't mind a service fee but these guys time and time again have shown me their vast knowledge with the variety of cars I have owned (BMW, Chevy, Honda, & Toyota), patience in explaining and showing me the different problems I've had..... Always reasonably priced and quick to turn my car around and get me back on the road in a timely manner. They setup appointments and stick to their schedule AND respect your time. These are the best mechanics in Crestview, dare I say, the best in the Panhandle. They have a plan when fixing your vehicle the first couple times you bring it in they will do great work then after your comfortable your gonna get screwed. Something broke in my car and they fixed it kinda but they didn't fix the under lying problem that is common knowledge to mechanics I found out later. And because they didn't fix the problem my engine went bad. never taking my car here again. read more

Called to see if they can service my BMW and they said of course they can as they have pretty expensive scan tools. Had my car towed there and two hours later they called and said they could not determine the issue. They said it was something inside the engine causing the car not to start. Towed it to FWB BMW dealership and it was diagnosed as a seized alternator...so nothing internal. Could of saved a lot of money by paying this shop's labor pricing instead of FWB BMW. Rate it a 3 because had to spend $70 to tow it here that was wasted but at least they didn't change a diagnostic fee ( which is to be expected and good business practice ). read more

While on a trip from Georgia to Florida, one of the rear wheels on my Explorer started to make an awful grinding noise. I immediately searched for nearby automotive repair shops and came across Main Street Automotive. When I entered the shop, I was friendly greeted by Jared at the front desk and discussed with him what was going on with my car. I was given an estimate when the car could be seen and I then took the opportunity to explore the awesome little town of Crestview. After my exploring I went back to Check on the car. The mechanics at the shop replaced a wheel bearing on the Explorer and I couldn't have been happier. The guys at Main Street Automotive are straight forward, will make sure any issues are resolved and are super friendly. One day after the radiator blew up in Ormond Beach I was driving through Crestview and my son's Toyota 4Runner blew a spark plug out of the cylinder. I was stranded on I10 at 9pm. I choose Main Street Automotive because they were part of the warranty network that I got earlier in the day from the excellent shop that did the radiator work. I had AAA drop off the 4Runner and the next morning Jared called and they were on it. They did everything they could to get me back on the road. After some difficult parts to find everything was done that day at 500pm. I got back on the road and didn't have another problem all the way to CA. Jared and the techs at Main Street did a great job. Main Street Automotive was fantastic. My husband and I were driving our 2001 BMW 330ci from Gulf Breeze to St. Petersburg on a Thursday afternoon. We had almost made it to exit 56 on I-10 when our car started overheating. It was obvious that we would need to get a tow to a mechanic. We didn't know any mechanics in Crestview, so we started calling the mechanics nearest to our location. Each of the shops were forthcoming and referred us until we spoke with the folks at Main Street Automotive that said they would have time to look at our BMW. When we arrived they very quickly diagnosed the problem, but to repair the car required a part that they did not have in stock. Main Street quickly called their supplier who promised to overnight the part. We rented a car and drove to St. Petersburg. The next morning, Main Street called to let us know that they had received the necessary part, installed it and that our car repair was complete. We gave them permission to charge our credit card. We picked up our repaired BMW on our return Sunday afternoon. We can't thank Main Street Automotive enough for doing everything they said they would do at a very reasonable cost. For that matter, we appreciate all the other shops for honestly telling us that they couldn't accommodate us and referring us along the way. Bottom line, if you break down away from home, you'd be fortunate if you break down in or around Crestview. read more

I used to bring my vehicles to Walmart to get the oil changed but the wait time was so long. I would be there for up to 3 hours sometimes! A friend suggested Mainstreet Automotive and I am so glad they did. Mike and his mechanics are so nice and wonderful to work with. The quality of work is excellent and the prices are very reasonable! I've never left a review before, so I created an account just so I could leave a 5 star review for Main Street Automotive! Fantastic customer service and service in general! After having a very poor experience with a local car dealership, I brought in my van to deal with some random engine misfirings. My anxiety upon walking thru the doors was at a solid 10. But after speaking with Jason for only a few minutes, I was completely put at ease. With undivided attention, he listened to what I said, spoke in verbiage I understood, and asked if there was anything besides the check engine light he could look into to fix my van knowing that it may cost me more money in the long run if I didn't address every issue at once. So I gave him a laundry list of issues. After having enough time to fully evaluate every issue, Jared called me to advise he had worked with my warranty company and let me know a fair estimate for the out of pocket cost of repairs. Once complete, Jared took the time to explain every repair that was completed. The drive out of the parking lot was the icing on the cake. It was the smoothest that van has driven since I got it. I had to call him back to let him know just how impressed I was with the service! (I write this for every other woman that may have that built-in anxiety preparing to deal with another company that might take advantage of our mechanical ignorance. I hope you have a minute :), 'cus I'm gonna tell it all. I knew that I was in trouble when I pulled in for the first time, I was essentially stranded in Crestview because of the noise (racket) that was coming from under my hood Thank goodness it was Main Street Automotive that I found. I was 60 miles from home (too far for my AAA free tow service), and had remembered the name from passing by earlier. Allie was my first contact, and an excellent Customer Service Representative, and started the ball rolling with a consultation with one of the techs (who happened to be on his break-he seemed truly interested and helpful) He did not have good news for me, but he was clear enough that I had a serious problem. I needed a new engine. First, Jason (the Owner) told me the replacement engine would be installed and out the door on Friday of the next week. Well...Thursday of the next week, a day ahead of schedule, I get a call that my truck is done,(Recommended sway bar and tire replacement- I knew I had bald tires and an alignment issue, so I told them to get with it). Jared managed all of the work and even offered to meet me on a Saturday morning when they were closed to bring my keys. With the one minor question that I had afterwards, they put me first in line on the rack to put my concerns to rest. My truck is rollin' on down the road, and I'm lovin' it.
