Looking for a good place to get hammered? Ferndale has many options, but main street is the best. The bring in the best live music that keeps the dance floor moving. The food is alright, the burger I had was pretty on par for a bar. The pours on the drinks were stiff, the beer from the tap was ice cold. They do serve you drinks in plastic cups, which is always weird for me. I do prefer the weight of a glass pint in my hand. The staff were good. The first bartender seemed a bit surly, but she lightened and livened up when her help arrived. All in all it's a good joint.

I enjoyed my time here! I went for the live music, which was a lot of fun. There are a lot of drink options and they have one of my favorite ciders. I had the $10 steak. A lot of people seem to enjoy it. I didn't particularly like it but I enjoyed the salad. It was quite busy when we were there but the staff works hard. When it's busy I let the staff do their thing since they're being pulled in so many directions. But when you're there to hang with your friends the time goes by fast. I'll be back for more live music!

The Main Street is not a place you go because you're looking for a fancy dinner or even to impress a date (unless, of course, your date has a penchant for downtown Ferndale dive bars). But if you like to listen to good, live, local music, enjoy a strong drink, a jello shot, or a beer then you've come to the right place. They even have a beer garden in the back (I'm pointing this out because I had probably visited the place at least four times before I even noticed it was there). Up front is a stage where you can find great rock 'n roll cover bands, or country groups, most weekends. And they have one of the best fish 'n chips I've had in the north county - a steal at only $10. Next time grandma comes to town am I taking her to the Main Street for a good time? Probably not. But it's a fun place to meet up with my Ferndale friends and - as grandma would say - cut a rug on a Saturday night.

I haven't been to the Main Street Bar & Grill many times, but after this last visit I will certainly be back. This is a bit of a dive bar, with some fairly dated decor, but that is one of the things that makes it interesting. The food is good. On my recent visit I had the Fish and Chips, which turned out to be one of the better fish and chips that I have had in whatcom county for quite a while, and it was reasonably priced. 3 pieces of fish with fries, coleslaw and tarter for $8.95. The pool tables are in good condition, so why not shoot a game of pool while you are waiting on the food to be prepared. The service was fast and friendly. I look forward to returning and trying other items on the menu.

    Thursday steak special!

Thursday night Karaoke hosted by Kellie is the smoothest, best run operation in Whatcom county. There should be more nights a week.

They happily put the game on when we asked and were very attentive throughout our visit, which made a great first impression. I ordered the burger with bacon and blue cheese and requested no condiments. I think there may have been some confusion in the kitchen, as the garnishes were left off as well, but our server promptly brought them out when asked. Unfortunately, the burger itself was overcooked and lacked flavor. The ciabatta roll was only partially toasted, and overall the dish fell a bit flat. The fries, however, were excellent hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and absolutely delicious. I don't usually like coated fries, but these were a home run. My dining partner ordered the BLT and said the sandwich was great overall. We also shared the mozzarella sticks appetizer. They were a bit different from traditional mozzarella sticks, thicker cheese with a heavier breading. While they were good, I felt the order should have included six instead of four. Overall, even though we were one of only two tables in the restaurant, we had a great lunch, thanks largely to the excellent service.

The bacon was okay, the eggs tasted like they might have been reconstituted, the English muffin was tough, but the white toast was excellent, thickly cut and toasted just right. The fruit and coffee were both okay. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and really tried hard to make sure we had what we needed. Service was definitely the highlight. The restaurant was clean and though there were lots of people there it wasn't too noisy. I was surprised to see how worn the booth seating was. It was convenient and quick, which fit our morning plans, but we decided to try other spots in town for the rest of our meals.

This is my go-to spot for special occasions…read more I first discovered this place about five years ago when my husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We had such a wonderful experience that we came back to celebrate our anniversary three years in a row. Funny enough, we always seem to get seated in the same booth and have had the pleasure of the same great service each time. The COVID years were the only time we didn't go. Tip: Order the tomahawk to share--it's the best dish hands down on the menu, in my opinion. The fat is perfectly charred, and the meat just melts in your mouth. Tip #2: Get the crème brûlée for dessert--you won't regret it. Must order: Brussels sprouts appetizer, green salad, Caesar for two, and the New York steak. Skip: Ribeye steak, escargot, and the seafood tower. Before the main courses, they provide a palate cleanser, which is a really nice touch. Reservations are recommended, but I've seen people walk in after an evening at the casino and get a table with only a short wait. There's a bar nearby where you can grab a drink while you wait.

I decided to try it on a Tuesday. Arrived during the hottest day of the year so far to find a nice cool, clean, classy interior. Was immediately greeted by a friendly hostess who seated me immediately. Restaurant was moderately quiet. Water and menu obtained, I perused the choices and decided Pizza was the thing. The pizza prices were a bit on the high side for a franchise place but the descriptions were promising with some interesting ingredients. Then I spotted it on the bottom of the menu...the Fig Pig. How could I not try it! About 15 minutes later it arrived, I took the first bite and Oh My Lord...when they redo the menu, it needs to be at the top. This is my new favorite pizza in Bellingham. Salty, crispy, meaty and sweet. It hits all the hot buttons. The crust is actually tasty, the pork is perfectly done. It was freaking delicious. Even better, once I finished half the pizza...it was that good...and a box and the check were delivered...the pizza was half off. I called the hostess over to ask if it was a mistake and she said all pizzas are half off on Tuesdays. I now know my Tuesday dinners. I've told a bunch of people now and will be taking my neighbors next Tuesday. Oh and turns out it's not a franchise but a family run restaurant.and it was staring me in the face the entire time. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger...I'll be back.
