This is our go to place during the day or night. Amy on Tuesday days is so wonderful to visit... and it's Taco Tuesday! We have gone for drinks and karaoke on Wednesday and Thursday nights and have had a great time! Taylor, Ashley and Sophia all rocked it on the cocktails and customer service! I've been here twice now and there's not much to say. It's a dive bar. The drinks are good but the service isn't great, both times I was here I felt like I was ignored. Your best bet is to go to the bar and order for yourself because the servers are nonexistent. The interior is pretty well worn as are the furnishings. It's a dive bar. The food was not great. Looking for a good place to get hammered? Ferndale has many options, but main street is the best. The bring in the best live music that keeps the dance floor moving. The food is alright, the burger I had was pretty on par for a bar. The pours on the drinks were stiff, the beer from the tap was ice cold. They do serve you drinks in plastic cups, which is always weird for me. I do prefer the weight of a glass pint in my hand. The staff were good. The first bartender seemed a bit surly, but she lightened and livened up when her help arrived. All in all it's a good joint. read more

I enjoyed my time here! I went for the live music, which was a lot of fun. There are a lot of drink options and they have one of my favorite ciders. I had the $10 steak. A lot of people seem to enjoy it. I didn't particularly like it but I enjoyed the salad. It was quite busy when we were there but the staff works hard. When it's busy I let the staff do their thing since they're being pulled in so many directions. But when you're there to hang with your friends the time goes by fast. The Main Street is not a place you go because you're looking for a fancy dinner or even to impress a date (unless, of course, your date has a penchant for downtown Ferndale dive bars). But if you like to listen to good, live, local music, enjoy a strong drink, a jello shot, or a beer then you've come to the right place. They even have a beer garden in the back (I'm pointing this out because I had probably visited the place at least four times before I even noticed it was there). Up front is a stage where you can find great rock 'n roll cover bands, or country groups, most weekends. And they have one of the best fish 'n chips I've had in the north county - a steal at only $10. Next time grandma comes to town am I taking her to the Main Street for a good time? Probably not. But it's a fun place to meet up with my Ferndale friends and - as grandma would say - cut a rug on a Saturday night. read more

Our daughter, family and friends visited This fun bar to hear a local band last weekend. The venue was packed and it was great fun! Waitstaff and bartenders were friendly and welcoming. The next day I realized I had dropped my wallet. The owner contacted my daughter to let her know someone had left it from our party. Everything in my wallet was untouched ! I am very impressed by the venue and the class act that evening presented itself. It's wonderfully reassuring to know there are still businesses that run a honest environment! read more

I haven't been to the Main Street Bar & Grill many times, but after this last visit I will certainly be back. This is a bit of a dive bar, with some fairly dated decor, but that is one of the things that makes it interesting. The food is good. On my recent visit I had the Fish and Chips, which turned out to be one of the better fish and chips that I have had in whatcom county for quite a while, and it was reasonably priced. 3 pieces of fish with fries, coleslaw and tarter for $8.95. The pool tables are in good condition, so why not shoot a game of pool while you are waiting on the food to be prepared. The service was fast and friendly. I look forward to returning and trying other items on the menu. read more

Four of us looking for a late dinner - this is where we found a big welcome and a good meal. The bartender said sit anywhere and immediately brought menus and took our drink order. Very interesting Mule made with whiskey. They use Fever Tree ginger beer so it was super good. Bar drinks are $4. Slim selection of beer but then it's not a brewpub. They had a steak special for $10.95. Salad with a great house made blue cheese dressing, good size sirloin steak and big, fluffy loaded baked potato. Steak cooked perfectly, medium rare. Was it the best cut? No, but it really was good! read more

Sunday afternoon and hunger hit and we decided to stay close to home and the Main Street was our choice. We parked around the corner and walked because street parking is limited. We walked in a grabbed a table by the window. The bartender showed up and knew his beers very well so I went with the dark porter and my husband got a local IPA. We ordered the fried mushrooms to start and just waited. The bar is somewhat old school with pool tables and a comfortable vibe. I'm sure it's a jumping place on Fridays & Saturdays. The mushrooms were really good and we ordered a Reuben for me and the jalapeños burger for him; both came with fries. Hot good bar food, cold beer and a nice bartender, what more could you ask for? This is definitely on our short list of places to grab food & relax in downtown Ferndale. read more

The Buffalo chicken wings at Main Street Bar & Grill, in Ferndale WA, are some of the most delicious, chicken wings I have ever tasted on the west coast! Full disclosure..I was born & raised in Buffalo NY. This makes me a conossieur of authentic/ classic...properly made chicken wing. Not only does Main Street Bar & Grill make authentic Buffalo NY chicken wings...but they also get the blue cheese right. Please!! Burgers are delicious. Other than that, the place is lacking. The alcohol tastes like gasoline, even if you specify a brand better than bottom shelf. The service is slow, but at least some wait-staff is friendly. The bartender has been referred to as a troll by more than me. She is rude and definitely could use some customer service training. But the burgers are good. So if you're patient and not drinking, have at it. read more

Good music. Food is ok... basic bar food. Had several really bad experiences with staff/owner. Learned to pay cash only to keep bartenders from putting other peoples' drinks on my card (I don't drink but apparently if you order dinner early and you stay for the music they insist on holding your card until the end of the night even if you ask for it back-my experience at least), came in with a friend one night and the next weekend I came back only to be told by the owner's girlfriend that she was holding me responsible for my friend's unpaid tab so I paid it but my friend insisted she paid cash when I asked her, owner got so drunk one night he was staggering around the dance floor and stepped on me and knocked me into the music equipment. Have had other random bad, dismissive non-service there by a variety of staff. There is one bartender that has always been nice and competent but I've had so many bad experiences there that the only good thing I can say about the bar is the live music as long as the owner isn't staggering drunk on the dance floor. Apparently the owner is usually a nice guy from what ppl have been telling me and his drunk night was unusual. Not sure if that makes up for all the other stuff though.
