Serenity and a spa this way

This review is for the spa area of the hotel. The main entrance is off Austin, but I prefer the back entrance that is on Main. This will lead you down a beautiful path shaded by tall buildings and vines wrapping around the edges with some nice outside seating for pretty days. It's like walking into a dream you never want to awaken from. On entry, I was greeted by a welcoming lady named Jamie who showed me some service options and explained their process. I noticed they use Babor products and this is one of my favorite luxury skin care lines for results that won't cause irritation with my sensitive skin. I also picked up some water infusion drops that help you sleep and relax. I will return soon for their magnesium melt and a collagen facial. If only every day could be a pamper day in this lovely get-away from it all haven.

In was our return to Fredericksburg TX in a few years and it was our special wedding anniversary trip from Austin. I had read about a new luxury hotel built on Main Street and made a reservation at the Albert Hotel. The entrance was on East Austin Street and best if to valet your vehicle. It was parked at a secured parking lot. The staff were very nice and friendly and welcomed us. The check-in process was quick and was giving a room upgrade. That was very nice and special. The lobby was very modern and beautifully decorated for the holidays. They had a very nice pool outside with lots of chairs and built in cabanas but was a bit cold outside and the pool was not heated. They also had a workout room but for me got my exercise walking up and down Main Street. This hotel was set behind the old buildings along Main Street to hide it from sight to maintain the city's historic character. Like I said the whole staff made feel very welcomed and they are dog friendly. Our room was modern chic with lots of floor space where there was one room for watching TV from a very huge L-shaped couch, roomy bedroom with comfortable bed with touch-switch lighting (took me a while to figure out) and no TV, and a massive bathroom with a standalone tub, separate toilet and walk-in shower. The window coverings were controlled with a touch panel (another thing had to figure out) and a separate one for climate control. The room had no personal refrigerator but had a minbar refrigerator. There was some small windows but could see the whole town since it was a corner room including town square with the holiday lights. It was extremely quiet at night and the hotel provided daily turn-down service where we got some tasty decorative chocolates and light touchups. You can scan QR code to thank housekeeping. The hotel grounds are gorgeous and had s'mores at night, but there was a sophisticated restaurant/bar inside, BBQ restaurant out in front, and a western saloon and hipster coffee shop along Main Street. We were surprised to see the 'Big Wonderful Thing: A History of Texas' book by our family author everywhere in the hotel including our room. The book is over 900 pages so if planning to read it plan to stay a bit long. The overall best reason to stay here is location where you can spend some time on Main Street and return for a break and then venture back out and adding a bit of luxury in our stay makes it even better.

I love that this hotel is in the middle of Fredericksburg. It's easy to walk to all the stores and restaurants. I love that. It's brand new and still smells like fresh paint. Everything is clean and the customer service was excellent. The rooms are a little bare but spacious and could use a little desk or sitting area other than the cushion in the window. I definitely would be back and stay here again.

Amazing stay! Beautiful clean rooms. Gorgeous hotel grounds. The food in the restaurant was AMAZING! It's different than their in-room dining, so I recommend eating down in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast if you can. The room service coffee was delicious and staff was very nice.

The appetizers at The Restaurant were great. The mains seemed to lack quality in relation to the price. Very nice hotel, great location. We ordered room service and that was perfect as was the quality of the breakfast. Overall service, excluding room service and valet, was below average but expected seeing that The Albert just opened. Additionally, just a heads up The Restaurant does not have off menu kids options so plan ahead.

We went in…read moreto this knowing it was on a busy road, but that was one of the bonuses, because we were in walking distance of everything. We really only heard traffic during the day, it was pretty quiet at night, and day traffic didn't bother us. We stayed in Winterberry, and we sat on the cute porch in the evening with citronella (my boyfriend is a mosquito magnet, lol) and lightning bugs. The bed was a little more firm than we were expecting, but we still slept fine. I should also preface that we sleep with a box fan on low for white noise. We were there during the week so there wasn't really any noise from other guests, only a few people were there. I will make note that you can see straight down into Winterberry from the door of the second floor cabin next door. We forgot to tell Debbie, the manager, about that, but it can easily be fixed with a simple window covering. There was no one in that room while we were there so it wasn't a big deal. Debbie was truly delightful, very sweet. She brought the biscuit basket we ordered for our final morning. The biscuits were really very good, they come in the cutest setup, with the biscuits sitting on a bread warmer. Great experience overall. If we vacation in Fredericksburg again, we will definitely stay here.

We stayed in Chinquapin the first night, and the cozy stone walls and super comfy bed made for a great evening. We moved to Winterberry the second night, it was a little more spacious with a much larger bathroom - can't wait to return in warmer weather to try the outdoor shower! We spent time by the firepit one evening and visited with other guests while enjoying wine and a cigar (him not me!). They have poker chips in your room you can redeem for a margarita at Los Tios, a nearby walk and a welcome change after all the wine! Don't miss out on the biscuits one morning - tasty and butter, jam and honey on the side, as well as fresh OJ. We will return on our next visit to the area to enjoy this hidden gem with easy, walkable access to the heart of downtown Fredericksburg.

After hearing that they are well known for their little B&Bs this one stood out among the rest for our weekend trip. We were going to be visiting on our 15th anniversary and lucky for us they still had some Saturday night reservations a few weeks before our trip. We originally had the Evening Star reserved but a lovely woman from the reception reached out to us upon seeing our reservation and asked if we wanted to be upgraded to the Weber House - for no additional charge! This was an absolute yes! What a nice gesture since they knew it was our anniversary - based on the questionnaire during check out. Some of the buildings are split with multiple room offerings- like the main hall- the Weber House however we stayed in was just us. We had a cute porch, living room, kitchen, bedroom, hugeeee bathroom with clawfoot tub and a screened in outdoor porch. Some of the bigger houses you can rent have room for multiple people but ours was intended for 2 people. They also have a cute library with some books and DVDs you can borrow. The property itself was VERY quiet. When we arrived we checked in at the little office upfront. The girl working even walked us to our little house since we had never been on the property before. Whoever stayed at the house the night before had broken the glass on the little table in the kitchen which was a bummer, so we could not use that, and maintenance was off on weekends. But otherwise it was the cute quaint place. Bed was comfy, central AC even though the buildings themselves pre-date that. Each one is unique too! We especially liked sitting on the screened in porch at night and enjoying a bottle of wine. In the morning they promptly left breakfast in a basket at 9am at our doorstep that was home cooked. It was a very sweet inn.

My wife and I biked the Willow City Loop, and we were able to leave straight from the Hoffman Haus without any issues. The shower has a higher head and we liked the new laminate floors. We liked the two lounge chairs, chair and desk along with the microwave and mini fridge. Pretty much the previous review still stands, but I added a few more recent photos and comments So why still the 3 stars? The walls and ceilings are quite thin where you can hear someone tromping around upstairs and snoring in the room next to you as well as upstairs. People are allowed to bring their pets to the rooms which means you can listen to them bark in the room next to you. My morning shower was set to hot, but it was barely warm. We pulled back the sheets and the mattress pad where there was a small blood stain, hairs, and an oily stain near the center of the mattress. No room safe. Breakfast here is pretty much on par with the average Best Western except that the buffet room is very cramped and indoor dining is tight. The outdoor dining area is actually quite nice weather permitting. I personally would like to see either the breakfast eliminated and we pay less for the room or for it to be an exceptional breakfast and charge a little more. By being at the level of mediocrity it just inspires you to go somewhere else. Even the coffee was weak and watery. With all of that said, our 2 day stay was less than $480. For a comfortable relatively clean room with no musty smell, it seems worth it. If you want to enjoy your time here, stay on the second floor and have breakfast at one of the nearby restaurants. 31/2* for the money for an acceptable visit.

This year the bathroom was covered in black mold and there was no hot water in the morning. Trying to coax a five year old to take a cold shower is a good way to ruin a trip. We called down to the front desk and the person said they would "check on the boiler" when we checked out an hour later (after taking a cold shower) the person at the front desk said they "hadn't gotten around to it." We let them know about the black mold in the bathroom and they said they would "tell housekeeping" We requested a refund through our booking platform and the hotel denied our request. The bed was very comfortable, room was small but fine since we were just sleeping there. Breakfast is delivered every morning outside the door in a basket. It's a cute concept but the food itself wasn't appetizing. Taking off the most stars because of the shower set up. The shower is inside the massive tub that you have to step into. It's very uncomfortable to get in and out of, especially if you're short like I am. Including a pic so that you have fair warning. Will not be staying here next time we visit.

The lady at the checkin building was wonderful! She was very accommodating and put us on the first floor so I didn't have to climb stairs (back surgery in Dec). We stayed in room 4. Upon opening the door, I fell in love! This beautiful room was decorated with antique furniture and just felt cozy! The bed was so comfortable that I got the best nights sleep I've had in over 10 days! The shower was huge and the best water pressure! There is body soap, shampoo and conditioner provided that is made locally at their herb farm. I wanted to purchase from the office, but we were running short of time, so I'll be ordering online! There are robes for your use, that were soft and comfortable! I want one of those too! There is a keurig, microwave and a small refrigerator with a freezer. There is also 4 bottles of local wine on the counter, champagne and beer in the fridge and chips for purchase (mini bar). The room was quiet all night. This place isn't huge, so I felt like we were lucky to get a room here. We will be back in the spring so we can enjoy the beautiful porch area. This morning, we had a wonderful breakfast delivered in a basket! It was delicious! My only suggestion would be to add a boiled egg or sausage patty to have a little more protein with breakfast. Overall, I know the Winchester Lodge will definitely not disappoint!! Highly recommend!
