I ate here earlier this year with a friend during the soft opening when the sign said "Los Hermanos". Had a chicken mole dish with a margarita. The margarita tasted like soapwater and the mole dish barely had any mole on it. We both left disappointed. Now the sign has been replaced with "Main Street Bistro" so we decided to try this place again. We did not have margaritas, but settled with water. I had a chicken remix burrito and my friend had a quesadilla with beef consume. The paper menu was hard to read with the green print on white background. Mike was our server. He was friendly enough but not very attentive. He seemed busy with other things. We had to ask for more water. My burrito was a small burrito served with just a small slice of lime. It looked so barren on the plate. It was tasty enough, though. Luckily I wasn't too hungry as I had lunch today at 9am and it was now 5pm. My friend enjoyed her quesadilla. The place was empty. We were the only two people in the restaurant. There was a private party in the back with the fireplace but no other customers. We had to put up with the same dance music playing in the background. The music was either for the owner, or for the people in the private room. There are plenty of vegan dishes on the menu, so for a vegan, this may be a nice place to dine, but we left a little unimpressed. Our experience at Main Street Bistro was the best part of our two day trip. Fresh, local, and affordable??? Unheard of in this economy. Getting shown the mushrooms you're gonna be eating? For well under $100 total?? Mike, the owner/chef/server is extraordinary. His dishes, totally inspired. I work in the service industry. He made dinner an absolute "moment" and I think that's hard to achieve these days. Unbelievable, you cannot leave this off of your itinerary. You have to try it out before he blows up and there's a huge line out the door. We will never forget about the pumpkin curry bowl, pesto pasta, or ramen birria. I thought we were going to a Mexican restaurant and it is, however it is upscale imagined Mexican. I ordered the birria chimichanga. It isn't your usual birria, it's better. The sauce is thicker and great seasoning. We split coconut Flan and a homemade ice cream sandwich. The flan was one of the best I have eaten and the ice cream sandwich is phenomenal. The soup of the day was a potato kale. The ginger and tumeric seasoning made it a keeper. If you get the chance...run don't walk to get your foodie foodie on. read more

The chef recommended the pesto chicken sandwich and honestly it was probably the best I've ever had. The food was amazing, fresh, and delicious. The service was friendly and prompt. We were visiting from out of town but locals were coming in to pick up to go orders which I took as a good sign. There are a lot vegan options on the menu, which I didn't try but from my experience people who can cook good vegan food can make meat dishes exceptionally well, this place is evidence of that. Food was pretty good, they have many vegan options that look good. I got the elote, it was cooked well although l wasn't a fan of how the vegan mayo tasted. I liked the corn though. The caramelo (jackfruit) was a good portion for the price and I liked the amount and flavor of the cheese used, but I wish it came with guacamole or rice and beans like the meat based plates did. It just came with salsa that kinda tasted like ketchup. Came in with a party of four and the waiter didn't ask if it was separate checks or together - he gave us one check and said he can't split them up when we asked for separate bills. I don't know if they never separate checks or he just didn't want to do it but if you're in a group that'd be something to ask before ordering. read more

We arrived at 4:45 (party of two) and immediately had an odd experience. We opened the right-hand door, only to be told we couldn't enter through it, and were made to walk ten feet to the left to use the other door. The same young man then came over and, with very little politeness, informed us that because he had "just sat a large party," it would be at least 45 minutes before we'd get any food. This was especially strange considering there was only one person seated on the side we'd first entered, and just two people on the side we were redirected to. The whole interaction came across as him simply not wanting customers, and the tone bordered on rude. Overall, extremely poor customer service, and we chose to take our business elsewhere. read more

Small town place with big time flavor. I had the Quesobirria tacos HIGHLY recommend them. The guacamole was flavorful and fresh. I think it had a tad too much lemon for my liking also the same with the elote a tad bit too lemony. I prefer a slight hint of lemon flavor. That being said I would order it again just need to ask for easy on the lemon the onions and cilantro were fresh and flavorful. I also enjoyed the limeade. Today, my husband, mom & I decided to come & hang out in Bisbee. Hub & I are vegan, so always looking for places that look interesting & "trustworthy"; that is to say, restaurants that know what vegan is & isn't...that understand if you serve animal product, too, how important it is to handle things separately and, most importantly, knows that making good vegan food isn't simply a matter of leaving out meat & cheese. Usually, we look for places that are completely vegan, so we don't have to worry about the second thing, but Poco Market restaurant, our first choice, was disappointingly not open. We almost went home again, but decided to walk, then drive around a little more. Went to see if Screaming Banshee pizza was open (nope), but lo & behold, right next door, was a delightfully kitschy, intriguing looking place and a sign that said "Main Street Bistro". Had never heard of it, just a lucky discovery. Saw "vegan & vegetarian friendly" on a sign out front right away, so it seemed like a possibility. We found a door to get in, there was a table of four inside, but no sign of a greeter, server, bartender or anyone who seemed to be working there at all. Had no Idea what to do, actually asked the people eating there what to do...they directed us to a button to push, to summon help....discovered some menus at the same time. Seemed odd, but a young man showed up right away to help. Once we were seated & were getting the hang of the menu, we started settling into the unusual ambiance. Definitely a cool place! Spent awhile trying to figure out what the building had been in the past. The young man who'd set us up came back, and in talking with him discovered there was many more vegan items on the menu than we thought. Ordered drinks (was hoping for a nice IPA, unfortunately only Modelo Especial..good enough!) Husband had a delicious hibiscus limeade. For food, husband had a deep fried lions mane mushroom po' boy sandwich with side salad, I had the burrito with crispy tofu option & Mom (not vegan), the Smashburger with chilis & fries. Also a start of flatbread with homemade pesto, fresh tomato & plant based cheese melt. Discovered the man who we thought was just our server was the owner & the head chef, too...wow! Food all came out in a timely fashion; only glitch was he was out of crispy tofu & offered me mushrooms instead; didn't realize they'd be the same deep fried lions mane mushrooms my husband had on his sandwich...delicious! All the food was very, very tasty, very well made & presented. Decent portions for the price. I'd say my burrito look lonely all alone on it's plate, with only a slice of lime & portion of chili sauce for company...maybe a little side of beans with it? All in all we were quite impressed & happy to have discovered this place! Very impressed with the many made-in-house items, fresh & local produce, etc. As someone else mentioned in reviews, some background music other than redundant club/rave music would have been nice & cutlery was a little dicey, cleanliness-wise. So good!! Amazing vegan options, the Power Drop bowl and pesto pasta dishes were so delicious. The chef makes all the food from scratch, mostly organic and local. You can tell a lot of care is put into each meal. The service was very nice too, a very laid back and welcoming vibe, highly recommended when visiting Bisbee! read more

Growing pains . . . but well worth the wait! The chef has been in several locations around Bisbee, and finally into a large restaurant. He makes wonderful Mexican food, and really any kind of food. Service is a little slow, but I'm sure that will change as the restaurant gets into full swing. I had the quesabirria tacos; tender beef with crispy edges, crispy taco shell and oh so cheesy. Refried beans and rice are tasty with excellent salsa. Lovely patio to overlook all of the action in Bisbee. read more

I find it puzzling why "Main Street Bistro" is not at the top of options for Vegan, Vegetarian food and just great tasting food for everyone in Bisbee, Arizona. I have lived literally from coast to coast and sampled high & low dining experiences of all kinds in my 73 years. My daughter and I recently relocated to Bisbee and have been sampling many offerings that suit my daughter's strict vegan, gluten free diet. Not to say there aren't quite a few here; but by far Mike at Main Street Bistro stands out. His culinary expertise and just personal desire to find fascinating flavorful combinations is extraordinary and shows in every step of his artful presentations. Even his cocktails follow the same dedication to uplifting the experience for his customers. If you agree that eating good vegetarian or vegan food should never feel like you're missing something, you will love Mike and his thoughtful menus. All this and the most inviting venue, regardless of the weather, makes the neon sign at the top of the stairs an always true statement. "Good Food Good Mood" I recommend Mike's latest take on a "Power Bowl" and a luscious pina colada with a fresh burst of strawberry and any dessert du jour. This place was AWESOME! and I feel that doesn't do it justice. Photos online do NOT match the ambiance of the restaurant, neither the food they served. The service was great, the young man who helped us was amazing energy. Theres a cozy fireplace in the main dining hall that gives a wonderful warmth physically and mentally. Had the loaded ranch tater tots, DELICIOUS! Had the birria tacos as the entree, amazing as well So warm and well seasoned with delicious consumé and salsa on the side. Ran out of fries, but gave us tater tots free of charge. Awesome place, worthy of a check out you won't regret! read more

The night I went, there was one other couple that showed up at the same time as I did. There were four people total as guests in the restaurant. For some reason, it took 50 minutes to receive our food. We received no drink service or explanation during that time. I asked for protein with my pasta. When the food came, no protein. When we called him over to point it out and request that it not be on the bill, his response was that someone else also order the same thing and he was confused. That's it; he didn't bother to amend it and I presume someone else got what I ordered and they just ate it??? Anyways, it seemed to be a non-issue. I found the casual dismissiveness indicative of someone who literally doesn't care. To follow up, we had to request water refills, and he comes back with a half full decanter. I only get half a glass of water, and he doesn't return to finish refilling. This morning, I realized that I've seen the young man before; when he had his place where the Badassery Sandwich place is. I remembered we ordered vegan option, from Sierra Vista, drove all the way there (had a friend in town), and he was closing and only had one of the meals prepared. That was it. No apology. I will be not be back to any of this gentlemen's establishments. Maybe if he spent more time on his customers, and less time on his nails, the experience could have been much different.
