We were recommended this place when we checked in at our hotel (ElDorado- check their review bc also was amazing). OMG! Now I'll start by saying that this is not a traditional Mexican taqueria; is more like a fusion inspired place. Our server was very nice and I'm sad I don't remember her name! She recommended the strawberry basil and the spicy pineapple margaritas. 10/10 for both. Enough alcohol and the flavor was great and not painful spicy just a good hint. We ordered the chips with the salsa sampler (guajillo, red and green) and I could have just eaten those for dinner and would have been set! I order the fish tacos and hubby order the carnitas and immediately yes! Both come w 2 tacos each ( my only complaint is I wish it was 3). Fish tacos had a decent portion of fish and the carnitas were bursting with meat. The pork reminded me of cochinita pibil as it had a hint of sweetness in the best way. Last thing- let's address the bean situation. It says on their menu that they are red beans with a Southerb style and is true and I'm here for it! As a Puerto Rican I prefer my beans to be flavorful on their own and their beans are! So if you are looking for a more refrito type mild flavor beans these are not it... but you are missing out! Great place! Small and lively with a pretty large set of options. We got chips, salsa and guacamole. All of this was good but the chips themselves really stood out. I'm not sure what they do differently but they're delicious! The tacos all come in sets of 2, not mix and match. Everyone in our group got tacos and everyone was happy and agreed they were quite large and had a lot of filling. I got the Korean pork belly tacos and these were really good! That said, next time I'd try to get someone to split 2 kinds with me as 2 of the pork belly tacos was pretty heavy. read more

I stopped in here after walking around Bisbee on a hot, humid day (followed by a magnificent thunderstorm that night!). TO had a sandwich sign advertising tacos and that was enough to draw me in. But I had nachos instead, which were very good and filling, along with a local beer. I ate at the bar and chatted with the very personable bartender. Since it was early (4 pm) there were only a handful of other people there. A cool dark little taco house and bar, with heavy wood walls and a metal ceiling. Was in town recently for a visit and came across Taqueria Outlaw one evening on iur walk and stopped in for a bite. We were greeted with a smile and hello by the kind and friendly bartender who was also our server. Grabbed a table and she brought us menus and some chips and housemade salsa, then took our drink orders. Its a taco house so I of course ordered tacos. I enjoyed my cold cerveza with some chips and salsa while waiting for our food. About twelve to fifteen minutes later our meal appeared at our table. Two fat Al Pastor tacos with spanish style rice and refries. The beans and rice were flavorful and complimented my tacos well. The tacos were very good, nice rich flavor and filling. Cute place, small-ish dining room in historic Bisbee. We came into town not knowing there was a 3-day music festival. It was super busy and our server was hustling hard just to keep up. They are out of a few menu items but we settled on the chicken nachos, which were delicious. Also a spicy pineapple margarita and a Cadillac margarita. Everything was super tasty. We waited a very long time to get our check, but, like I said she was hustling. We finally took cash to the bartender knowing we way overpaid. The server was super pleasant, just waaaay overloaded. We wandered in this little restaurant and enjoyed a nice meal. We started with the waitresses recommendation of the queso fundido that was not on the menu. It was served piping hot and in a cast iron pan. It is served with warm tortillas. They invite you to help yourself to their "salsa bar" but at night, it's hard to see, as there's no light overhead. Our waitress was friendly & attentive. I enjoyed a spicy pineapple margarita and two carne asada tacos. The carne asada was flavorful but a somewhat crumbly and had a strange feel in my mouth. They came with a side of rice and beans and I couldn't tell if the rice was homemade or came from a box. Beans were different but definitely tasty! We popped into this place for a quick dinner! They had a wonderful salsa bar and some really tasty tacos! I was feeling adventurous and tried the mushroom adobada tacos. They hit! 10/10 flavor! Our server was amazing too. Very attentive and quick! The vibe is super laidback and fun! We came to check out the newly minted dark sky locality (Bisbee!) and grabbed a pre-gazing bite here, midway up Main St. I got the carnitas tacos and she got the carne asada, of course with the understanding that we would each share one taco with the other! Our waitress/hostess was terrific throughout, from greeting to service. She did forget to mention that there was a small condiments bar in the opposite corner of the restaurant but the tacos were amply accessorized and thus outstanding regardless (I frankly often prefer only cabbage/onion and no sauces because I'm really here to taste, and test, the meat! The asada was really good but the carnitas were the bomb. At $13 for each plate of two 6-inch tacos and no sides it was bordering on steep but this was a sit down experience as well. The venue is typically packed wknds around peak lunch and dinner hours. It's ambiance is traditional "saloon" with wood floors, walls, tables, and chairs. We tried this little restaurant for dinner. Keyword being little, there was a bit of a wait. When a spot did open up, it was the tall bar-top in the middle of the restaurant. It wasn't bad. The place although small, was very loud. We ordered margaritas, which were the size of fish bowls and very strong. Me and my group are vegan, so there weren't very many options but the server was happy to work with us and talk through some options. We all wound up going with the mushroom tacos, which were smothered in a delicious chipotle sauce, and very tasty. We did ask about a side of greens, and they said they didn't have any which was a bit strange. Overall, it's what I expect for Bisbee. It's pretty rare that my whole table insists on calling the owner over before we leave to gush about our experience. First of all the drinks are the real deal, I had the strawberry basil margarita and it was made with fresh strawberry juice. It wasn't syrupy sweet, it was perfection. My friend loved the Paloma with fresh squeezed grapefruit juice too. We started with chips served with house made salsa, queso and guacamole, big enough for the 6 of us to whet our appetites. The tacos were made with either flour or corn tortillas and come with 2 on a plate. Well priced, sized right and made with lovely fresh ingredients. The table favorite was the cauliflower, slightly sweet, crunchy and delicious. Our server and all of the servers were so welcoming and knowledgeable. Never would I have thought that I'd be raving over a taco shop in little Bisbee but for all the Tacos I've eaten in Texas, Arizona, New Mexico; this place holds its own! This new shop has funky decorations with nice sit down options. The chips and salsa started it out right with a hearty salsa; almost smoky in flavor. The tacos had those real tortillas that are an essential component of that perfect taco. The meat was tender with so much flavor. Even the beans/rice were not to be forgotten. On the other hand, The churros for dessert were not great. A bit hard and no wow feature; we didn't end up finishing them. So just skip the churros and you'll have an amazing meal! read more

Stopped in for dinner while visiting Bisbee! Came on a Thursday evening and luckily beat the dinner rush because seating is fairly limited. My husband and I shared the carne asada fries and they were some of the best I've ever had! I was traveling with a couple of of friends to Bisbee, AZ on a Saturday and we stumbled upon this place. It look very inviting and the menu looked good... Boy we're we wrong. The owner was behind the bar in the restaurant and we gave home our name for the waitlist and he quoted us about 20 minutes. We went to the bar for some drinks and chips and salsa. Ordered 2 margaritas and a vodka grapefruit and a basket of chips and salsa. The bartender had zero sense of urgency as our three drinks took nearly 15 minutes to make. A food runner left the basket of chips behind the bar so we couldn't get to them. About 10 minutes later a manager walked by and I asked him for our chips and he put his finger up at me as to mean you can wait. As he walked by he gave them to us and and said are you satisfied? You get more with honey, meaning you get more if you're nice (mumbled under his breath). No one ever came back to seat us after nearly 40 minutes. Needless to say, we paid for our drinks and left. Cute little Mexican restaurant in old Bisbee, friendly service. After day drinking in Bisbee I really wanted some good street tacos so I picked this place. Service was awesome, friendly and attentive . Food missed the mark, I went with the Al pastor tacos on corn tortillas, rice & beans. The al pastor meat was missing that grilled charred around the edges flavor, the pineapple was a nice sweet bite but could've used more time in the pan to caramelize slightly, the corn tortillas were also missing that warmed over an open flame burnt edge that elevate anything you put in them, they were probably steamed instead. The Mexican rice was a short grain rice, the flavor was good but short grain tends to clump together. Food came out fast, salsa bar with all the favorites, lime & cucumber slices in the corner where you help yourself. Overall the service is great and the laid back vibe would definitely bring me back to try something different. read more

We stopped in at Taqueria Outlaw and had good, friendly service right from the start. A bit disappointed that they don't offer blended margaritas, so we went with a glass of wine and a bottle of beer instead. For food, we tried the grilled shrimp tacos, which were just okay, but on the bland side. The Belly of the Beast tacos were definitely the highlight: flavorful and well done. The surprise came when we realized the tacos were à la carte at $13 for two, and beans and rice were extra. We were tired, didn't notice it on the menu, and weren't offered the option when ordering. Portions were small for the price, and overall it felt overpriced for what it was. Good service and one standout taco, but the value just wasn't there for us. read more

I feel bad for this review but it is honest. I had the Al pastor tacos and was not impressed at all the meat was greasy and I didn't like the canned pinapple chunks and the shredded cabbage was off as well as the chunks of tomato. I'd give them I am more a fan of the Al pastor that's cooked on a rotisserie and the fresh pineapple slices. the rice was hard and undercooked the beans were dry and I wasn't sure what was going on with them the Michelada was ok the service was friendly and prompt the ambiance was nice with the colorfully done mural. I've been wanting to try this place out. I lucked out with parking right across the front door. I walked inside to gentle reggae music just after 6pm. I sat at the bar, ordered a house margarita and a chicken chipotle burrito. Service was fast and friendly. My burrito came.moments later, toasted and sliced in half. It was well spiced! Luckily my water glass was kept full. I enjoyed my meal. The burrito was very filling. This is a small place. The bar seats six. There are five tables that seat four each, and a family-style counter with room for six more. That is it. The sign on the wall says the maximum occupancy is 42 people. There is one gender-neutral bathroom in this place. By 7pm, as I was getting ready to leave, the small restaurant filled up with hungry patrons. I came at a good time! The walls were colorful. A cutout of The Rock stood in one corner, holding a tequila bottle and dressed as a taco. That cutout was the funniest thing I had seen in Bisbee, and this town is so full of witty things. read more

The food and service is just incredible here! The portions are giant, at least for the carne asada fries and the nachos. The queso is some of the best I've ever had, and I'm not usually a queso person! The guac is chunky and perfectly seasoned.
