My family and I were in Sierra Vista and the restaurant we were planning to go to was closed. We googled Mexican Food and Los Tachos was recommended. It was the BEST google recommendation ever! We ordered the parrillada and every single part of it was AMAZING! The steak, quesadillas, chile relleno, the rice and beans, the salsas!!!!! Every single bite was delicious. I stopped in for Sunday lunch after a walk around Bisbee. I was surrounded by loud Spanish chatting as soon as I walked in. The place was busy. I shared my table with another local woman, Rita, as I sat by myself and there were no other open spots for Rita who came in after me. The interior looks like a diner south of the border: simple decor with one wall TV playing the Duke-Indiana State basketball game which ISU lost. I ordered a chicken burrito with rice and beans on the side. Rita had chicken flautas which she said she has several times a week. My meal was good. The chicken wasn't spiced enough for my liking and I should have asked for salsa. My bad. The rice was bland but the beans were good. My meal was only under $12, so at least it was reasonably priced. The place serves Coke products on tap and nine different bottled beers. I just had water. Service was fast and friendly enough. The servers were busy, too. read more

If you know authentic Sonoran food and enjoy eating in a comfortable, unfussy setting, Los Tachos is the place for you. The menu is not extensive, but has everything you could ask for in a small place right near the border. The chile Rellenos and Enchiladas are superb. The beans! Oh, the Beans! The Relleno platter also includes rice, which is delicious, and fresh flour tortillas. The Enchilada platter also includes rice, and the enchiladas are topped with fresh lettuce and tomatoes. The sauces were spot on, very fresh and authentic. Service is friendly and fast, but this is not Fast Food. Every plate is prepared fresh after you place your order. We enjoyed a cold beverage and the complimentary chips and salsa while our food was made. The Salsa Verde is fabulous; the red is excellent and spicy. We had heard great things about Los Tachos, and now that we've tried it, we'll become regulars. The prices are better than reasonable for large portions of great food. My husband's three flautas meal were taquitos and not big ones were talking tiny corn tortillas that looks like they had been frozen before frying with just the tiniest little tiny bit meat. They were an appetizer, not a meal and they were not flautas! 10 minutes after we ordered that came and said oh somebody just came and ordered all of our Rice so can we give you extra beans or french fries we asked if they could give us guacamole instead. Funny thing never got rice extra beans, french fries or guacamole. They just shorted us same as true from my dad's Rice! My tacos made Taco Bell taste, and look authentic! After we were done, we went to Burger King so that my husband could get some food! Quite seriously less than 10 minutes from the Mexican border and I get better Mexican food in Washington! read more

This place is, like most places in the area, a little slow. That being said the staff is friendly and they have a pretty good menu with daily specials and all the Sonoran favorites. They have a drive though for to go orders and if you are in a hurry I recommend calling ahead and using that. Despite looking like a quick/counter service place they provide full table service just grab a table that isn't dirty and relax. read more

We just happily moved into the neighborhood, were excited to have a Mexican restaurant nearby to practically walk to. We waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged, we were patient, it was lunchtime, but we're privy to other tables' conversations that they didn't get what they ordered. The staff ran from one table to the other. Even one customer paid with a card at the counter and the server yelled to another server standing by "Did he leave a tip on the table??" One elder couple shared a fork because they had asked for another fork and it was never brought to the table . We were served our food 30 minutes later, no silverware, napkins or hot sauce. I got a roll of paper towels from the next table. We stopped the server for help, and she just nodded and said she would return. She never did. We ate with our hands and it was bland without hot sauce. 20 minutes later we asked for the bill. That came in 2 minutes! We paid and won't be back. Maybe Naco has a good Mexican restaurant. Disappointing. Terrible waitstaff, food meh. And definitely be prepared to eat with your hands and wipe your face (with no sauce) with your sleeve. read more

I know it isn't fancy looking, but it is easily the closest representation of pure Sonoran MX food you'll find without crossing the border! Excellent value! English is a second language, but everyone is really nice. read more

Out Harley riding passed this on the way to look at the border wall in Naco, AZ. This little family owned Mexican is nextdoor in Bisbee. Simple small menu. I ordered carne asada and for the 1st time here in AZ it came as a steak not chopped up like fajitas. Outstanding chips & salsa u pay for. Sadly the carne asada was flavorless grilled meat. Rice & beans & grilled flour tortilla tasty. Good coffee but after a cup & 1/2 thy had no more. I think she just didn't want to make another pot. Churro without sugar for dessert but no coffee to enjoy. Their score fell steadily. Bathrooms were clean & adequate. They had a drive-up pickup window that had a startlingly loud bell which was near where i was sitting. Will not return. read more

The afternoon shift is terrible as opposed to the last 20 years. I ordered beef enchiladas with only two tables occupied. I was continually told "your order is almost ready". After several tables came in, ordered, ate and left, she told me "I messed up your ticket and they're making it now". I left with my enchiladas 70 minutes after arriving. read more

As a contessas cantina daily customer I have been needing to have me a regular place I heard of the chef at contessas moved here to Tachos and said yes I have my regular spot because theirs a lot of food similar I know it would taste different but the quality would be good! Service could be better so I ask for take out for the most part. Food was so good chiles rellenos big and fluffy with the salsa which are not anymore I had one yesterday and they disappointed me rice and beans were no good either. Last week Thursday I ordered Sonoran enchiladas sauce on top was good but the Sonoran were uneatable they were served falling apart. The pozole this weekend was horrible I had to throw it away. The Sonoran hotdogs are pretty good just don't like the pico on top. I thought I would taste a good tortilla soup and it simply disappointed because I tried it the week you posted you had your new chef and it was very good. The food is very bland needs more flavor! I'm not understanding how it can be so good for weeks and end up going back to the reasons I didn't like eating here. Tachos did you change cooks again what's going on. It's funny. I was at a business meeting in Bisbee and we had lunched catered in. The first thing the group asked is if they were getting Tacho's! Now I have not been to their restaurant but I found the tacos that were delivered to us very average. Nothing real noticeable or exceptional about them. I am also not sure if this is the only Mexican restaurant in the area hence the reason for the love. I would not eat here again. But I think it's worth a try so you can form your own opinion. read more

Probably one of the best Carne Asada tacos I've ever had. Well seasoned steak on a homemade tortilla. Also got the Mexican (Sonoran) hotdog. Fantastic burst of flavors that compliment each other perfectly. Highly recommend. Will be a stop for me any time I'm in the area. read more

I love the food at Tacho's Tacos! The taco salad is a perfect dinner, whether you order beef or chicken. Another delicious plate is their tostadas, their tacos, their enchiladas, their... You name it! The flan is also very good and a wonderful way to top off a delicious Mexican food dinner. I love the fact that they have a drive-thru; I can call in my order and pick it up a few minutes later rather than having to wait for my food. The restaurant opens on Mothers Day and menudo is not even ready at opening. The cashier/waitress greeting was poor virtually silent. This family owned restaurant is poorly run as a take out only service. I feel it should just close if there food is not ready for service at opening. The family does not care about service.
