A very nice, well organized original vinyl record store. A lot of new vinyl. I found a ZZ Top album I did't have, which is rare. My only let down was the number of near mint used vinyl was pretty limited. Pricing was on the top end of Discog's Staff was friendly and knowledgable. If you are into CD's they have 1000's. read more

Long live the independent record store! I cannot praise this place enough for their great selection of vinyl, cds, cassettes and other things. You're going to get wonderful service and feel the love here. If you can't find what you're looking for it can order it in too! Since moving locations there's only been one in-store performance but it was really special and the bands were great. I understand how difficult it must be to push forward and get back into that part of music but I hope we see more of it. It really does a lot of good for our community and our love for music. The owner Lisa is a class act and very genuine. It's amazing that she's still going strong after the loss of her husband. Her perseverance is incredible and very admirable - lady you rock!! Her husband Tim was one of the most loving people with such a wonderful heart for his community and we all miss him terribly. Do yourself a favor, put away the mp3 player, grab a record and don't just listen, but experience the music. read more

I don't praise many things here in Utah, mostly because they suck so hard. But this place is truly a gem. Huge area, retro themes (old timey TVs and radios are sprinkled through out the store) and so many posters on the wall and ceilings I don't think I could ever take them all in. Beyond the actual music they sale your basic hipster needs: incense, books, clothing, photos, DVDs. For a store focused on music their book and DVD selection is truly excellent...sane prices and an amazing selection. On my one trip spotted everything from Carole Lombard to weird D list Sci Fi epics. They also have a gigantic selection of music DVDs (performances and such.) I'm not going to lie, what with the internet I just couldn't be bothered to look through the mammoth selection of CDs, but make no mistake its like 50% of this store and that's a big selection. I've recently taken an interest in vinyl and they have probably the best sized selection your going to find without going to a major Metropolitan area. Abba to Alice Cooper to Country to Big Band...its huge. They also have record supplies you can't find without the internet (sleeves, jackets, the little yellow things for 45s.) Seriously this store is amazing...AMAZING. read more

First off, in case Yelp has not corrected it yet, but address is 195 W. 650 S. #2 in Cedar City. It is a point of confusion to me that St. George does not have a music store (I'm not counting Best Buy or B & N) yet Cedar City does and they have this awesome one. This is a throwback, but in a good, good way. They have cassette tapes still! And DVDs. And a great selection of new CDs and a decent selection overall, way better than I expected. Sure, it was lacking next to, say, Amazon, but realistic expectations and all... Tons of vinyl here, if that's your jam. Like most brick and mortars, prices are a bit on the high side, but it costs money to have a cool place like this around and even if you have to say get 1 CD instead of 2 by buying it here, do it. It's worth it. This place is decorated in cool and you're immediately surrounded by it when you walk in. There's so much stuff jammed in here, it would take probably many hours to parse it all. I definitely back it. Counter help is super friendly and helpful and I'd consider letting them order stuff, were I to live there. This place has that great intangible "it" factor and for that alone, it's worth going, if you care about this kind of stuff at all. read more

Groovacious has a lot of things going for it. It's the ONLY independent record store in Cedar City, for one. In addition, it is a throwback to the old record stores one would have found in the 1980s. The walls are literally covered in old advertisements for albums and movies and a stage even sits in the corner for bands to perform. The store has a pretty cool vibe and smells like incense throughout. The staff is also very sweet and helpful. On the other hand, the place is a bit pricey. I was perusing the music DVDs and was surprised to find that the KISS "Animalize" DVD was priced at $50. It can easily be purchased on Amazon.com for $19.99. In addition, the Used CD section was mostly overpriced, with some albums priced at $8 which I've seen at other record stores for less than $5. I was even surprised to find some VHS tapes that were $10 and up, and cassette tapes that were priced at $5 as well. In 2012, this is a bit much. I understand that this is the only store of this kind in this city, but they could afford to re-think their pricing. As a side note, right down the street there is a place with a sign for a business that offers title loans as well as used CDs and DVDs. We rummaged through what they had to offer and I ended up finding a Tiamat CD for $3.50. I would almost say to check out that place instead of Groovacious, but you have to at least see how awesome the record store looks inside just once. read more

One of the last bastions of hope for record stores. Groovacious always has a well-rounded collection of music and media, as well as fun little specialty items scattered around a very relaxed atmosphere. The tiny stage in the corner doesn't seem as tiny when a band plays on it, and many local artists do. I don't really even know what to say about it, other than I love it and if you appreciate music AND small business, please check out the most unique record store in southern Utah. read more

For my birthday I requested a turntable and an album. Sure, I had one back in the 70's, but over the years, I converted to CD's because they were easier to move around the states. I'm revisiting the album experience. So, on my big day, during lunch, we headed on over to Groovacious to see Lisa, the owner. She is a very interesting proprietress--smart and knows her music. I picked up a cool little retro turn-table and a double Zep album. It was a hard choice, since the selection is so amazing. While I was there I enjoyed the laid back vibe, the organization of the store and a great conversation with Lisa. Groovacious is a wonderful place to shop for music. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it. This store makes it a whole experience and that is the way it should be! I am glad you are in Cedar City, Lisa and Groovacious. ) read more

Admittedly a throwback to the great independent record stores of the late 20th century, Groovacious has curated a substantial inventory of music you won't find at Wal Mart. There are also cool gift items, posters and t-shirts. The owners, Tim and Lisa couldn't be nicer. This is a must stop place for anyone who loves music enough to actually buy it in tangible form. To top it all off, Groovacious sponsors a very substantial music festival each summer (Groovefest) and presents live music in their store. How cool is that? read more

Loved the vibe here. Groovacious is a stylin' record shop with tons of choices for media including records, cds, dvds, and even tapes. I loved just browsing their selections and I really believe this place is a gem. However, I think they're a little behind on the times and the place could use a face-lift as far as business plans go. They keep a lot of old products (video tapes and cassette tapes?) that takes up floor space. Also, everything is way overpriced in this age when businesses are competing with online sellers like Amazon. I'm usually willing to shop at local businesses to support even if they're $5 or so over online prices but when you are debating buying a record for $40 dollars versus online for $20 it's kind of a no brainer. This place has potential and I was so close to buying a record but my amazon prime account was arguing with me. I want to come back for some live music if I ever figure out when they have bands playing. It's a nice hipster location with great selections and I recommend coming to check it out for yourself. read more

I love Groovacious. I love the music that is always playing and the incense that is always burning. Every CD is beyond reasonably priced and if you are looking for some new music to listen to Tim is very helpful and has a great taste in all genre's of music. They also have open mic night on Wednesday's where you get to hear local musicians and poets. I highly recommend going here before any other music store. read more
