As a 3rd generation Colorado Native, The clientele in the early AM is what I think of as old Brighton. Farmer, police officers, just local folks stopping by as part of their routine. We just moved to the area a couple of months ago and have been trying new restaurants each weekend. I've had Main Street Cafe bookmarked for a while so my husband I decided to go Saturday around 11:00 am. When we got there we had to wait, but it was less than 10 minutes. Despite being packed, our server came to our table almost right away to greet us and take our drink order. Once she returned with them we put in our food order and maybe waited 15-20 minutes until it arrived. I had the waffle combo with strawberry compote, eggs and bacon. My husband had the chicken fried steak with eggs and potatoes and we shared the cinnamon roll that came with his meal. Everything was hot, tasted fresh and was absolutely delicious. My waffle was soft, fluffy and cooked perfectly. I had asked for my bacon to be cooked well done and it turned out nice and crunchy. My husband's chicken fried steak was so tender he was able to cut it with his fork. He gave me a bite that was covered in gravy and I enjoyed the flavor of it. Their house potatoes were yummy too! Now the cinnamon roll....homemade, warm, soft and oh so good! It is a must try when you go! We had a wonderful first experience here and will be back for sure. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes. For both of our meals and my husband's drink, our bill came out to $24. Did I mention we had leftovers too?? I can't believe it took me this long to come here. First, the positives. Portions are huge. I left the restaurant thoroughly stuffed. The cinnamon roll was piping hot and delicious. I had it accompanying a Mexican skillet, which arrived quickly despite the restaurant being busy. The skillet was good, but kind of bland compared to my expectations. I almost never add salt to a restaurant dish. This one needed it. The potatoes didn't seem like they'd been seasoned. The chorizo was just kind of bland, and the green chile didn't have any zing to it. It wasn't BAD; after all, I did eat it and enjoyed it. It just felt like it was missing a little love from the kitchen to bring it up to a five star review level. Note: the restaurant is crowded with tables and gets very loud, so if you have a companion, you can expect to add to the noise by having to shout your conversation too. read more

Apparently this restaurant believes that only women should change diapers. They have a diaper changing station available in the women's restroom, but none available for fathers. The food was good but not great, service was friendly but inattentive, good value for the money. But I cannot support a business that perpetuates the antiquated and sexist notion that changing daipers is a woman's job. read more

Food was good. I had the monte cristo. It was a different take on it but it was good and not greasy at all. It had a huge chunks of ham and turkey. I just think the jelly was a little to chunky to dip the sandwich in. Fries were really good and the overall service was great. They greeted my husband and I as soon as we came in. Then sat us immediately. We went on a weekday so still need to check out the weekend crowd. Outstanding service and incredible food! My wife and I drove out of our way to eat here after a red eye flight from DIA. We try and eat at small local non chain restaurants while traveling, This place is absolutely amazing. There was a short 10-15 minute wait time to be seated, but we were promptly greeted and informed of the wait upon arrival. Our server was Rose who promptly took our order and never let our coffee get below half a cup. The food came out fast and hot, The chicken fried steak was the best I've had and you can upgradeto a fresh made cinnamon roll which was unbelievable delicious as well. I had enough food with the chicken fried steak breakfast that my cinnamon roll went home with me in a to go box. Me and my family love to go here on Mondays for breakfast. I love the food, and the biscuits and gravy are amazing! Their country fried potatoes are wonderful as well. It can be a little dark inside the building sometimes, but that is nothing a couple of lamps won't fix! They always have good options for my family members who have food allergies. Had high hopes for this place based on the high reviews so we decided to come here for breakfast. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my husband had hash browns, bacon, and eggs. Both orders came with cinnamon rolls. Food was terrible. Everything was cold and the cinnamon rolls were stale and incredibly dry. We were one of 5 occupied tables so there was no reason for our food coming out cold. Server never came to check on us, probably because she was sitting at the bar eating her own breakfast.
