I've been going to MSC almost weekly for breakfast or the occasional lunch. I picked up a wrap to go today and was very disappointed. They changed the shredded chicken salad to processed, salty, chicken salad and I almost gagged. I couldn't even eat half of it, and I was hungry. The price has gone up, too -- well, everything has gone up, everywhere. But I had hoped that the fresh, delicious quality I was used to would continue. I will never go here. I've gotten orders that are wrong (with a fight from the actual owner of the establishment). The employees don't really care about you (unless they know you) and their food is okay, it really is nothing special especially for the prices they charge. The coffee is not worth it, I would rather go to Cheshire Coffee. And for lunch/breakfast, Michael's Deli in the center of town, Bagelicious or Shef's Bagels are the places to go. read more

I will not be going here again. I had the option of here or a large chain coffee store, and I chose to give the local guy business, next time I'll go with the large chain. I ordered a strawberry-banana smoothie, under the assumption they'd use fresh fruit. Wrong! They used syrup and who knows what else. The color was red, the flavor was piña colada, the trash can got the rest. Also ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on multigrain. It was flavorless, and I had to add salt. At least the coffee was good, which is why it's 2 stars and not 1. Go for coffee, leave before ordering anything else. read more

This was one of my favorite breakfast/coffee/lunch places for my family and I for the past few years. Unfortunately, we will not be going back. I had purchased something (valued at 20$) from the gift area, a coffee and a water bottle. I was sitting at the table using my own hotspot for WiFi as their WiFi wasn't working. There were two people at my table (including myself). The owner had the nerve to ask us to purchase something else to continue using their WiFi. My family and I will never be back. I usually go to Main Street for my daughter who loves the smoothies (Oreo & Mango, in particular). While ordering an Oreo smoothie today, I had not had lunch so decided to try a sandwich. I got the crispy chicken BLT on a hard roll. The sandwich was good if not a bit expensive for its size. I thought it was a nice touch that it comes with chips and a cookie. The chips are a sample size bag of cape cod chips. A regular sized bag would probably make the $7 sandwich worth the price. The cookie was one of those Danish butter cookies that come in those round blue tins. I thought it was a bit tacky. Here you are in a very nice local small town eatery with tons of freshly baked goods and they give you something as far from freshly baked as possible. Again, offer a small version of a larger cookie you sell. That way you're happy to pay $7 or even $8 for the sandwich and you also entice the tastebuds for a future purchase. read more

This place used to be called something like "Greenwich Time" and it wasn't really too good - kind of a gift shop that sold mediocre coffee. Now I guess its got some new owners and it feels a little less like a gift shop and a little more like a cafe. I had a $4 mocha and it was OK - not really too chocolatey and not too strong on the coffee flavor - a little watery really, but not burnt coffee or super-sugar taste. Next time Id probably just get a black coffee. The baked good all looked very good and they had a nice selection of Fascia's chocolates! (a local chocolatier) and they have WiFi and even a few vegetarian friendly sandwiches on the menu .. read more

This is place is amazing! The staff is great and the owners are amazing. With this in place, the selection and quality of food cannot be beat! I had a sausage, egg and cheese on a Cheese Bagel... AMAZING! I highly suggest this to anyone. Now the restaurant itself seemed like home! You have a choice of relaxing on the comfortable couches next to the fireplace or sit down at the tables. Got the Crispy Chicken BLT, Chicken quesadilla wrap, kid's grilled cheese, broccoli cheddar soup, strawberry smoothie, and 2 ice coffees dark roast. BLT and wrap were both awesome! Perfect for our tastebuds and a late lunch. I didn't try the grilled cheese myself but my kids polished off the grilled cheese and fought over the broccoli cheddar soup. As a mom, I can tell you this is big if my children voluntarily eat veggies especially broccoli!! Coffee is not as dark or strong as I'm used to, but that's ok. Strawberry smoothie was a bit too sweet for my liking but did appreciate that they split it into two cups for the kids to share! Staff was friendly and patient as we fumbled over our order. I had a disappointing experience on my first visit when ownership/name changed from Greenwich Coffee to Main Street Café. However, I have been back to the locations several times since and have been extremely impressed each and every time. It is, without a doubt, the best place in CT to get coffee/espresso. My favorite aspect is their seasonal selections of fancy caffeinated drinks. I highly recommend an Iced Carmel Apple Latte with Soy, during fall. The staff is also very welcoming and the atmosphere is very relaxing. The prices are very reasonable and you can get a sandwich, pickle, chips, and a cookie for a mere $5 (tasty, as well). I've been driving by this place to go to Dunkin Donuts each morning for my coffee and bagel for a while. I used to go to the old location, never bothered giving this one a shot until I was running late and didn't want to wait in a drive-thru line. I ordered what I would normally get from DD, light & sweet coffee with an onion bagel and cream cheese. The bagel was fantastic compared to any bagel I've gotten from DD - warm, flavorful, and just the right amount of cream cheese. They also cut your bagel twice, making it easier to eat/hold. The coffee was good, it has its own unique taste. The reason I rated 4 stars and not 5 is because the staff has been known to prioritize service for people they know for years and have STILL not changed that. The manager should really start taking these reviews into account - we are your clientele, not just your friends. read more

We had delicious Grilled chicken Cobb salads with organic mixed greens, bacon, boiled egg and a balsamic vinaigrette. This place is cute with warm and welcoming decor. You place your order at the counter and then they bring it out to you. Very simple. There is a seating area with tables and chairs, an outdoor dining option and an area with couches and a fireplace. We enjoyed our salads and the atmosphere, and the service was friendly and prompt. We will definitely be back! read more

Owner is quite rude and unfriendly. Constantly nags you to buy something if you try to hang around for a while and do work. This has happened on multiple occasions and sometimes within just 5 or so minutes after sitting down. As someone who frequents this shop on a regular basis, I'm upset by the fact that the desire to make an immediate short term sale is more important than long term customer retention. Clearly has little knowledge of customer service and makes an otherwise beautiful, cozy independent coffee shop feel rather unwelcoming. Truly a shame read more

Since moving to Cheshire about a year ago, I have gone to Main Street Cafe maybe 15-20 times (decent food, great bubble tea), but after the experience I had today, I am unlikely to return. I was passed over at the ordering counter for a "regular" customer that the cashier knew by name, and then two other "regulars" were served their food before me, even though I had ordered first (I was just getting a breakfast sandwich, and one of the other orders was huge). Maybe I don't look like a typical Cheshire resident, or maybe the owners are happy with their current level of business. Either way, I'm going to be a "regular" in this town for the next 30 years so I am sure I will find other, better places that are happy to have ALL their customers. read more

Personally I love Main Street Café. I stop here often, usually for lunch. They have a nice variety of sandwiches, wraps and salads. Their coffee and tea menu is quite extensive also, including bubble teas. One thing that appealed to me is that they have gluten free bread and non-dairy creamer available. They also have items which you can view and/or purchase while you're waiting for your order. They are made by local vendors and range from purses to jewelry to hand-made greeting cards. There is plenty of seating indoors and also some seating outdoors. I would highly recommend Main Street Café! :) read more

The food is good, and the coffee is good. I'm not particularly thrilled about how the regulars seem to get preferential treatment. A couple of times that I've been in there, people that ordered things after me will get them right away, whereas I have to wait. Kind of annoying. Love stopping in here for something quick in the morning. Service here is great and prompt. Most of their options here are on the cheaper side which is always good. My favorite item on the menu is a veggie cream cheese with tomato on an English muffin.... it's fantastic. This place has amazing coffee. Many varieties, at a cheaper price and the rest of the town. They also serve food as well for breakfast and lunch. The only negative that I can say, is that the staff is very slow in getting you your order. I myself just come for a quick cup of coffee three or four times a week. Some days it takes me 15 to 20 minutes to get a coffee. A little frustrating. Sometimes it gets so bad, that I will go to Cheshire coffee up the road. They are more expensive, but they are lightning fast. So if you're looking for a great coffee place in Cheshire, that serves food, this is it. As long as you have plenty of time to spare. read more

Great food, prices, and staff. And I love how they truly support local businesses, too! (Fascia's chocolates, business card area, local artists....yay!) I tend to just stop in to get a coffee or chai tea drink, but whenever I get a meal, it is always delicious (the mac and cheese is GREAT!) The ONLY thing that is disappointing are their Sunday hours....wish they were open a little later, but I understand that it may not be a busy time in Cheshire, and closing in the early-mid afternoon might be better from a business standpoint. Cute little coffee shop in the middle of the 'Shire. Decent price list, and my mom likes bolder coffee so we ordered her a dark roast which she loved. I had a infused iced tea which was deliiish. I get confused by the atmosphere here, because there is a lot of random things going on. They sell little knickknacks, mugs, hair accessories etc- random for a coffee joint. All of the staff is nice, and the coffee is great. I have never had their food selections, so I can't attest to those. read more
