I really wanted to like this place, but it's a no for me. First off, the girl who took our order was rude. I ordered the iced chocolate covered strawberry latte, and I asked her if they stirred their iced lattes, she replied yes. I asked her if I could get mine layered, because I like to taste all the elements that goes into the latte separately for my first couple of sips. She looked confused to my request, as I tried to explain what I wanted, she proceeded to roll her eyes at me. It was the absolute worst iced latte I have had in my life! I don't know if it was the espresso or the flavors, but it had a super artificial taste to it, and it stayed with me for a while. My BF got the iced coffee black, and he said it left a taste in his mouth that was very unpleasant. We both threw out our drinks. We also ordered the grilled cheese. It looked like it was make with a thinly rolled-out pizza dough. The color of the melted cheese was unappetizing in itself. Half of it went into the trash with our drinks. Came in today, no line but plenty of people there. The lady taking our order seemed frustrated. I get it, busy morning. Told her we hadent been there before and she kinda just stared us down when we asked for a second. We ordered an elderberry iced tea and an iced chai with pumpkin. We also asked for a cinnamon roll and a toasted bagel with cream cheese. They got the chai wrong. Luckily the nice man behind the counter fixed it for us. Even offered to let us keep the other drink which was nice. Oddly enough our bagel took about 20 minutes to come out. The tea was a mistake on my part. It had very little flavor and i didnt know it wasnt sweetened. Thats my bad. The chai was fine. My biggest issue was the cinnamon roll. When i got home, i bit into it and pulled out a very long hair. Mind you im bald. That was unpleasant. Overall i dont think this place is for me, but if you like pet friendly coffee shops id says give it a go. read more

This is such a lovely coffee shop! Located in the center of Plantsville, Lions Den Coffee is a hot spot for locals to grab quality coffee, freshly pipped cannolis, and enjoy breakfast and lunch. It was our first time visiting, we easily spotted the shop's sign and there was easy parking. It was a busy morning, people were enjoying outside on the patio and the shop's seating inside was mostly occupied... Surprisingly, it did not feel crowded. The line was long, but went quickly, enough time for us to decide on our drinks. They do coffee without the frills and cater to true coffee enthusiasts. From drip, pour over, cold brew, nitro brew, and French press--they have it all. They do have signature, seasonal, and tea menus. I opted in the London Fog with honey and oat milk. They have a brand called Rishi for their teas which I haven't heard of before. My mom tried one of their signature lattes, Caramel Biscotti. My tea was very good and steeped strong. My mom loved her coffee, she can see why it's a signature flavor and highly recommends it. Lions Den has had an assortment of pastries, muffins, coffee cake and cannolis that are freshly piped. They have breakfast sandwich, paninis, and yogurt parfaits. The menu is small and simple, but still a good variety to please everyone. I can't wait to stop by Lions Den coffee again. Coffee and drink products are great. Bakery items are delicious but the muffins taste a little funny, kinda stale, like a cardboard aftertaste. I have yet to try their dinners and lunches they offer. Grand Opening for this new Simsbury location is on March 11th (3 days away), but already I hear the Lions Den has a regular following. I arrived after 9:30am and as you can see many of the tables were occupied. Even though this is described as an Italian bakery, they have everything, French toast, wheat, plain and one more kind of bagel (forgot)for their bagel sandwiches. The oatmeal looks interesting and I'm looking forward to trying it in the future. I know you're thinking all breakfast sandwiches are basically the same... but I have to tell you there was definitively something about my everything bagel with egg, sausage patty and cheddar sandwich that made it ABOVE average! I am actually thinking about when I can go back and have another one! I ordered cannoli to bring home and, although we didn't eat them for 2 days, they were still outstanding! We were pleasantly surprised because they had some great espresso beverage options and some delicious pastries. I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon around 3 PM. I happened to be in the area and actually found this place on Yelp after I did a search on local coffee shops. There is a parking lot, and I believe some off street parking. There were two small tables with chairs out front. I was in the mood for an iced coffee, so it was too cold to sit outside this particular day. The space is open and clean. It is very uncluttered, so there is room to walk and sit comfortably. There are several small tables with chairs and two counter spaces facing the large outdoor windows. In the middle of the space, there are shells with merchandise that says Lion's Den, different coffee cups, coffee and filters. The menu has variety, without being overwhelming. There are also some pastries available for purchase, but we only got coffees. I ordered an iced Nutella iced coffee and my dad ordered a chocolate maroccino. Both were tasty. Going off of a recommendation, I tried the new location in Simsbury today. I really like the fact that they have three choices for sugar-free syrups for coffee. I had a sugar-free caramel biscotti latte, which was incredible.. the flavor was fantastic. You can also tell that it's good quality coffee. I also had the chicken bacon ranch Panini, which I would not necessarily call a Panini more of like a toasted sandwich. It wasn't bad, it wasn't outstanding it was definitely average.. but you must try the lobster tail! Stop by this little cute cafe shop by Southington Mountain. First time at this little cafe, we were tired and were looking for a good cup of coffee. This coffee shop was so clean, neat, and organized. All the girls at the counter were so friendly, helpful, and nice. Emily helped serve us, and she was really helpful in explaining all the different drinks, and I can tell she was very experienced. She explained how much foam, milk and espresso went in everything. A very cute new coffee shop located along the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail. I accidentally stumbled upon this place when looking for a restroom haha. The shop is right next to Zingarella Pizzeria and is a great alternative to the Dunkin' nearby. I always love grabbing a coffee (especially when it's cold out!) and walking between Cheshire and Southington. This weekend I visited Lions Den Coffee Shop for the first time in Southington, CT and I was super impressed! They only opened up last year so I was pumped to support a new local business! We got an iced pumpkin spice latte with oat milk and a hot caramel latte to drink, both so creamy and delicious! I love enjoying an iced coffee in a glass when I'm dining in, it makes all the difference and I love that touch! I'm usually in and out with a to go cup in hand but there are very nice seating options inside and out front if desired. I regularly get Lattes and cappuccinos (both hot and iced) and I've never been disappointed. They have pastries available that pair nicely with coffee. Only negative feedback I have is the prices are a little high but comparable to Starbucks and other coffee shops.
