He helped push the bike in when I didn't ask

Was very kind and the price was reasonable. And they helped me load my bike into my car when I was having trouble with it.

Paul and everyone else that works here is an absolute pleasure to do business with. They're very knowledgeable about all of their bikes & products, are extremely nice, and can answer any questions you have. I had the best experience buying my new Super 73 from here and I can't wait to take it for a spin!! Will definitely be coming back here for anything we need. Thank you guys

I knew nothing about road bikes until I went to this shop. I had purchased this bike on offerup used which I originally thought needed a derailleur tune but turned out it needed a lot more things. So I took the bike to Main Street Cyclery and had them tune and inspect the bike which costed around 100 dollars. Fast forward a few days later I received a text saying the bike was ready for pickup. Upon arrival I entered the shop and the guy working on had told me that there was an issue with the front derailleur and crankset stating that I needed a Shimano instead of a SRAM since every other part was Shimano and SRAM and Shimano are not compatible. Additionally, they also applied installed new front and rear brake cables because they also stated that they were too weak and unsafe. I decided to send the bike back to get the right crank installed so that it was safer. About a week passed by, I get another text saying that it was ready for pickup. So I head over to the shop once again to see the bike. The total with the inspection and tune, Shimano Crankset, new front derailleur, labor, and new brake cables totaled to 315 dollars. So I paid the shop and also asked for a bottle of dry chain lube which the shop provided with a cash coupon since I had already spent so much money fixing the bike. They also took off one of the labor charges making the total cost to fix the bike a little less than it was originally supposed to be. Lastly, another week passes and I realized the handle bars were a little too low for me. So I purchased a handle bar extender, took apart the stem, and attempted to fix it my self. Unfortunately I unscrewed the compression screw which made all the compressing pieces fall into the fork making it so I could not put the main thread back in. So I did what any other person would do and took it back to the shop. Luckily the shop called 2 days later saying that everything was going to work, and it was a super easy repair. They charged me only 20 bucks since it was very simple. The shop also recommended me a safer extender, but I ended up returning the safer one since it did not work for me too well. Even during the installation process of the new one, Pat (one of the bike mechanics) was super helpful, walked me through the whole process of reassembling the handle bars. Overall I highly recommend this shop because they took really good care of the bike and made sure that it was safe and comfortable to ride. Although the price is quite costly, I think it's best to make sure that everything works properly and guarantee safety.

Thanks to an amazing team over at Main Street Cyclery! These guys came through for me in a pinch to get a SE bike built and completed before my sons birthday. So thanks to these guys here at the shop in the Cypress Burns Park area. Definitely you all need to check them out and they are locals who went to the surrounding schools from elementary to high school. So shop local and support them. Always appreciate that!

Dropped my bike off for repairs and picked it up with extra damage. Brought it up and got nowhere. Completely disappointed!

Ask the Community - Main Street Cyclery

Do they fix toddler flats and how much?

We sure do and it's around $25, on average, as long as it's just the tube that needs replacement and not the actual tire. Hope this helps, thank you!

Do You have any 20inch S.E. rippers in?

We are not expecting 20in rippers till end of year. There may be a few shops that are still expecting 2021 colors still. If you ca the shop I could probably recommend some shop.

What model is the Fuji Carbon Road Bike?

Currently we have the Gran Fondo 1.3, the Supreme and Jari 1.3 Gravel.

Do you have tire sealant for tubless style wheels?

Yes, we carry orange seal and stans.

    Do you have fixies?

Yes, we have a few SEs and we are waiting on a few cinelli.

Do you guys sell tube for the bike and an patch for a fixi bike?

I'm not sure I understand completely. We carry almost all size tubes for any bikes and we also have patch kits. We also repair most flats but we do not patch tubes in the shop. Thank you

Went to go pick it up, they couldn't find my bike, and eventually they did because it was stored outside. Not sure if they always leave customers bikes outside when the shop is open. My biggest complaint is that I went to ride my road bike and the front tire was flat. They're supposed to inflate and inspect the tires. Had to drive back home and looked at it myself. The tire and tube was pierced by what looked like a thorn? My tire/tube weren't flat when I took it in or when I last rode it. No way to know when it truly was damaged. But not happy about having a flat right after it was tuned up and the I have to do my own maintenance. What's the point of even paying for them to tune up my bike? Not sure if I will come back in the future honestly

Initially, I went to another local bike shop. Explaining my issue, I was told I needed a derailleur adjustment, which would cost x amount of dollars, and I'd have to leave my bike at the shop and I will be called when ready. Knowing Big Wheel Bicycles is just a few blocks away, I thanked the first shop for the estimate and headed to Big Wheel bicycles for their estimate. Soon as I walked into Big Wheel bicycles, I was welcomed and a gentleman heard my issue, told me the issue was shifting gears while stationary, and no repair was necessary. Didn't charge a fee for diagnostics/time or anything! I was soon out the door, and rode the bike around the parking lot to make sure everything was in proper working order. Big Wheel Bicycles just earned a loyal customer. They could've charged for a diagnostic and/or suggested services, a la care dealer service departments, to this bike layperson, but they weren't concerned about racking up a bill for me, which in turn will bring them my future business going forward. I am quite happy with the brief service Big Wheel Bicycles afforded me, and I highly recommend them to anyone in search of a new bike or having their bike serviced.
