When I visited the Main Street Diner, I was traveling with a group of twenty-one people. The people working there were wonderful. They were very nice, hospitable, and patient. However, it took quite a while for my food to get to me after I ordered it. This is probably due to the fact that we bombarded them with twenty-one people to serve at once, though, so I don't really fault them for that. There could have been more vegetables on the menu, and the food was around average. Overall, though, it was a pleasant experience, and I enjoyed the staff a great deal. This restaurant provided great service, especially as a group of 21 of us walked into and filled the entire diner. It is a small restaurant with only two available workers, but they provided a nice environment and the food was worth the wait. The appetizers are a must, both the fried pickle chips and the mozzarella cheese sticks were the best that I have had yet. The prices are great for the amount of food that you get. The bathrooms are small but clean. I was a little surprised that this was the only diner in Livingston, KY. But in a town of 300 people the owner of this place is providing a great service to adventure tourists as well as locals. The place is small and comforting. What I really liked about the diner was that workers(+chefs) were cooking right in front of you. All their meals are great prices for the amount of food you get. I liked the hospitality of the waitresses and how they managed my group of 21 people. I ordered a grilled chicken burger with onion rings. As the only dining option in Livingston, Main Street Dinner offers a decent selection and modest pricing. Be prepared to be served by local, life-long "Livingstonian's" who are certain to have dozens of stories about their town's history to tell. Their burger basket (box) a great value. For the same price as a "Quarter Pounder Meal" from MCD you get a true taste of Appalachia beef on a buttered bun and fries or onion rings with a side of coleslaw (try ordering that at McDonalds). I group of us visited Livingston to eat and meet the Mayor. We were recommended by the Mayor to go to the Main Street Diner. I ordered a grill cheese sandwich with fries and it was really good, but THE BEST PART about the dinner was when I decided...to order...A CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKE. That was and has been THE BEST milkshake I have ever tasted. Whether or not it was because I hadn't had a milkshake in a while, it still holds the title of being the best milkshake ever. The food was delicious. We came by with a group of 20 including 19 entrepreneurship for the public good students and professor Dr. Hackbart to go dine with the mayor of Livingston Kentucky the food was great however we had to wait some time before we were fed, some students receive their foods earlier than others I believe this is because of the amount of people that showed up all at once because it is a small diner regardless the food was great and the service was amazing it is the only diner in Livingston and it is doing very well. read more

The small town of Livingston is served well with kindness and good service from the Main Street Dinner. For my meal spent here, I ate dinner along with the mayor of Livingston, and 19 other colleagues. I had a double-bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and pickles. I also enjoyed an oreo milkshake. I was a little displeased by the forgetfulness of our waitress as I was not served my requested fries or water, but I completely understand as 21 people all at once with only two waitresses can confuse their orders. read more

Livingston is rising! I was surprised that the town head for adventure tourism has only one restaurant, but they sure do know how to cater to each customer. Main Street Diner is a small and comfortable restaurant, even when a party of 21 people slam their counter. The atmosphere at Main Street Dinner was comfortable and quaint. The waitresses provided my group of 21 with reasonably fast and efficient service. I ordered the cheese burger box which came with a medium sized cheese burger and a heap of French fries. I also had a piece of chocolate cake with butter cream icing which lacked much need moistness. There was not a very big selection of food to choose from on the menu. However, the service was fast and the waitresses were hospitable. In this small of a town businesses like this one are dependent on travelers money so if you are in town I would recommend stopping for a milkshake or piece of cake to support local businesses. read more

The grilled chicken that I had was absolutely spectacular! It was just perfectly grilled and had a wonderful flavor. It took some time before we were served, being that the twenty one of us had stormed the small community diner for lunch.
