She wanted to do something different…read morefor her birthday this year so she invited a group of ladies to join her at Elite Hands Body & Spa for a midday escape. We had a reservation scheduled at 2:00 PM and the majority of our party arrived on time. The hostess , who I believe is the business owner, was prepared for our arrival, and greeted us by showing us where to hang our coats and items in order to leave baggage and prepare for a 40 minute escape and time of relaxation. After hanging our items up, we were directed into a lounge type space, that had a charcuterie board/snacks, mimosa fixings, and complimentary cocktail glasses for each guests to enjoy and take as a souvenir after our experience. Our hostess, confirmed the type of escapes that we each booked ahead of time and then offered us either an orange mimosa or watermelon to get the party started. They played a nice music mix and offered to change it to what the birthday girl wanted to listen too if she would like. Then we were to told to mingle while our escapes were being prepared for us. Our party was then given either a satin robe to change into (if they selected the Yoni Steam service, or individually we were taken in our massage rooms if we selected a full body massage, facial Steam, there were also Sauna steams, and Facials available for this Girlfriends Escape experience. Each guest selected two services to get done, as all guests were to experience their escapes at the same time that would last roughly 40 minutes each. I was directed into a massage room with massage tech, Lanetia and this would be my very first time getting a full body massage. Lanetia, was extremely nice and calm, she was professional and I could tell she had experience. I was slightly nervous, not because I had to full undress (minus my panties) but because I have some pathology in my lower back from my old line of work. And so it causes nerve pain into my feet and I just get nervous when someone is pressing or stretching my nerves and muscles. I had nothing to worry about, I knew when she was hitting on my trigger points, and she knew when to remind me to relax whenever I would tense up. Soft music is played and you truly feel like your mind, body, and soul are being taken on this therapeutic journey. I was also booked to get the facial Steam, but due to my personal time I ended up not getting that done and leaving around 4:00 PM to go handle other things I had to do. Once my escape was over with I was directed to the lovely, bohemian bathroom which was my favorite aesthetic in the entire place. Pretty yellows, and serenity surrounded this space, and it's very instagrammable if you are into that. Total photo op! As some of us headed out earlier together, we were told to grab a goodie bag (which consisted of fuzzy socks, charcoal massage gloves, and spearmint gum), and then to pay for our services. They take credit card and cash app I think. My massage was $50 but I left a nice tip out of appreciation. This is a great experience to book for your next birthday gathering, a bridal shower, or just to get away if you need some me-time. The front desk staff are very friendly. The hygienist that I had was the nicest hygienist I've ever had. I've had BBL (laser) treatments more than 10 times across the U.S. and Korea over the past two…read moreyears, so I am very familiar with proper technique, settings, and overall treatment flow. From the beginning of this session, something felt off. The sound and delivery pattern were inconsistent compared to what I've experienced before, and even the number of passes between areas was not consistent. At that point, I questioned whether the provider had been properly trained. I asked if the settings were correct, and instead of providing a clear explanation, the provider simply said it was "normal," despite visibly hesitating and appearing unsure. There was also a lack of technical precision. Areas that require careful technique, such as around the nose, were not treated appropriately, and no adjustment in tip size or approach was made. Communication was also inadequate. Since my eyes were covered, I expected the provider to clearly explain what treatment was being performed at each step, but that did not happen. There was little to no explanation throughout the procedure. The most critical issue was the Skin Smooth treatment itself. Normally, this involves 1-3 uniform passes across the full face. Instead, the provider repeatedly treated both cheeks excessively--approximately 50 passes per side, almost at a level that felt like continuous rubbing--while completely skipping the forehead. I have never experienced this level of repeated passes or heat buildup in any BBL treatment, whether in the U.S. or Korea, and it was very concerning. Because I had already questioned the settings at the beginning, I chose not to interrupt further and assumed there might be a reason. However, after reviewing standard BBL Skin Smooth protocols, this approach does not align with accepted practice. Even if a more aggressive or targeted method was intended, there should have been a clear explanation provided. This level of repetitive energy stacking on one area raises serious concerns about over-treatment risk, uneven results, and clinical judgment. No explanation was given for this approach. I have previously had to switch providers at this clinic due to inconsistency. While I had a better experience with another provider, this visit highlights a broader issue: a lack of consistent training and standardization across staff. For a procedure that relies heavily on technique and precision, this is not acceptable. I am requesting a clear and detailed explanation of the technique, settings, and rationale used during my treatment.
