What a pleasant surprise to find this bike store in Wauconda. It was quite a drive from the City, but well worth it. We came because Paul is the ONLY Pedego Electric bike dealer in the whole of Illinois. Paul was extremely helpful and accommodating, allowing us to do test rides of the Pedego bikes and providing detailed specifications on the bikes. It was an overall pleasant experience and a very enjoyable one. We are interested in exploring more about those bikes. read more

What a cool little spot. Drinks were reasonably prices, live music was fantastic, and bar tenders were super friendly. Even the patrons were super friendly. My only suggestion, because it was soo packed we had to sit by the entrance and couldn't really see the band, it would be cool to have a video setup and stream to the other TV's in the place so you can see them regardless of where you are in the building. read more

This is the best kept secret in Wauconda (& possibly all of Lake county). If you haven't had a delicious craft beer, while listening to some amazing FREE live music at Wauconda Outfitters (affectionately called The Bike Shop) & chatting w/the delightful Co-owner, then you are missing out on an experience of pure joy & sincere good times. And they tune up bikes & rent kayaks & bikes & snow shoes! Super nice people w/ a truly fun & wonderful hangout spot. The owner did a super job, even same day, so we didnt have to drive back and forth twice. Price was very reasonable too. We will be back! Paul was very patient over the few months it took me to decide to purchase a Pedego Comfort Cruiser. I enjoyed the store atmosphere and the free beer upon buying a new bike! He also drove all the way out to Winnabago to deliver the bike after only a two week wait to get it in his shop. On 5/8/15 my friend and I wanted to enjoy the beautiful weather and get out and kayak. I had done some research in the area and stumbled upon Main Street outfitter. They rent out different types of equipment as well as have a restaurant on their site. I called to inquire about renting a couple kayaks and I was extremely pleased with their customer service. They had told us their business was technically closed for the day however they would be more than happy to drop off 2 kayaks at the pier on Bangs Lake. It is 30$ per kayak for the whole day. All you have to do is call them when you are finished and they will come and pick up the kayaks. You do have to have some experience as there is no formal instruction on how to kayak. They just provide the equipment. I was extremely pleased that they would still get us some kayaks even though they were closed for the day. Talking with them they were always extremely nice and just wanted us to have a good time and enjoy the lake. The lake is beautiful and clean. You can fish as well. I would love to check out their restaurant one day as well and enjoy some live music they have thought the week. Thanks for the great day Main Street Outfitters.
