London broil with 3-pepper cheese, horseradish mayo on a pretzel roll.

We drive by this place all the time and have never stopped in. Today, I was running errands and decided to stop in. Being a deli, I thought I could pick up a pastrami. I really had a taste for it :) First impressions, this place is clean, inviting and has a great feel to it. The bartender, who also makes the sandwiches, handed me a "menu". You actually circle the type of meat, bread, cheese, condiments etc... No pastrami. In fact, they don't have a large deli selections. The menu is posted in the photos on yelp. You can get an idea of their selection. They do have a great selection of wines and beers. I really just wanted a pastrami to go. I decided to order the London Broil on a Pretzel Roll, with 3-Pepper Colby Cheese and Horseradish mayo. Plenty of meat on the sandwich, well made (kudos to the bartender) and fresh. Really enjoyed it. The one thing to be prepared for is they are a bit slow in serving. They aren't ignoring folks. Just a bit relaxed, methodical (very methodical), etc. Given there was only 1 other person she was serving ahead of me, I'd hate to think how they deal with 10+ folks coming in for lunch or dinner. They were very polite, and it was a really nice environment to hang. But if you are in a "rush", you might choose another venue. All in all, the food was good. Wish they had a larger selection and a bit faster serving. If I was hanging out for a beer with a friend, this place would score 4 or 5. For takeout, only can give it

Wonderful bar/casino with the most delicious sandwiches i have ever had. With live bands on Fridays and gambling. Delicious food and super friendly staff, this place is a hidden gem of round lake beach. Stop on by!

Great!!!! Everything about this place is exceptional. In the middle of nowhere but I'll be back. Friendly service. I'm living the keto lifestyle so the meat and cheese plate tickled my fancy more then the local competitors. Pick your own sandwich for the rest of the family. Thank you for the great experience. I will be back and will be spreading the news.

Great delicious food; great friendly service! I ordered a London broil on pretzel bun with balsamic glaze and it was awesome. The sandwich was definitely larger than I expected and the server/bartender was a great conversationalist who convinced me without trying to, to eat my order in as opposed to carry out. I look forward to coming back with my wife for a little date.

I'm so impressed with this sandwich. I found Lucky Emma's on yelp. They make the sandwiches in front of you behind the bar. It was so good. I had the pretzel bun, chicken, salami, Chipotle mayo with spinach. It was huge and good. The two servers were fabulous. I will definitely be back.

The best food, good music, great atmosphere, great drinks. The sandwiches were the best I've ever had. So many choices! Everyone loves a good deli sandwich. This place has them. Best wine selection, you won't leave unsatisfied. Cmon in!

Nice. Really upscale inside. Pretty simple menu. Build your own sandwich, chips and soup. Large beer and wine selection. I had the London broil on pretzel roll which I could only eat half because it was so large. Loved the Turkey and corn soup. Took one home for later. Nice back room video room. Katrina the owner/bar tender/sandwich maker was super friendly. One suggestion is get a microwave or toaster oven to melt the cheese. Maybe they could add a little more to the menu but good addition to the area. Give it a try.

If you're looking for a place to have a fantastic deli sandwich made with premium Boar's Head products, or even if you're just in the mood for a wide variety of wines and craft beers, Lucky Emma's is the perfect spot for you. Katrina couldn't be nicer, and she crafts each sandwich from scratch to your specifications with generous amounts of meats. My wife and I first tried out Lucky Emma's yesterday for a late lunch, and it was so delicious, we ordered take out for dinner tonight. The inner decor and lighting are very warm and inviting, and if you're into gaming, there's an area in the back to test your luck. I highly recommend checking this place out if great food, drink, service and environment are qualities that you seek in an establishment!

Don't be fooled by the strip mall .... this place is REALLY nice, a bar with some high top tables. Nothing fancy, good beer list, okay wine list but excellent service from our bartender and the sandwiches were out of this world. Will be back 100000000% !!!!

The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. While they don't have a separate gluten-free menu, our server was incredibly accommodating. He went out of his way to double-check that my drink was safe and brought over an allergen menu for me. A quick note for GF diners: The menu doesn't explicitly mark gluten-free items or sides, which I wish they would change just for peace of mind. However, they do have gluten-free buns and the staff is highly attentive to allergies! The Drinks & Food: The Cocktail Menu: It's full of fun options! I had the watermelon martini to start. This was definitely on the sweeter side, but not overpowering at all. The Entree: For my entree, I ordered the Chicken BLT Pesto Sandwich (on a GF Bun) with garlic mashed potatoes: Absolutely delicious. The bun held up great and the flavor combo was spot on. Overall, it was a fantastic meal with top-notch service. I'll definitely be back, but I really hope they consider labeling their menu items and sides clearly in the future.

While the food is incredibly tasty, a few minor tweaks to the composition and seasoning of certain dishes would make the experience truly flawless. The Highlights: Drinks, Ambience, & Service * The Flights: We thoroughly enjoyed both the wine and mimosa flights. They are well-curated, beautifully presented, and a great way to sample their extensive selection. * Atmosphere: The ambience is excellent and sophisticated, making it one of the most visually appealing spots in Vernon Hills. * Service: The staff provides excellent service--attentive and professional throughout the entire meal. Food Feedback & Suggestions * Mediterranean Flatbread: Very flavorful, but the olives can make it quite salty. Adding a balsamic glaze would provide a sweet contrast to balance out the saltiness. * Beet Salad: Features fresh, high-quality ingredients. This dish would benefit from a touch more salt and a bit more acid (like a bright vinegar) in the dressing to really highlight the earthy beets. * Paneer Palak Bites: A delicious fusion idea, but the execution was slightly misleading and difficult to eat. The bread lacked the expected toasted crispiness, and because the paneer is served in a thin slice, it often slides off, leaving the sauce on the plate. * Suggestion: Try chopping the paneer into small cubes, bruschetta-style, and mixing them directly with the sauce. Layering that mixture onto a properly toasted baguette would create a much more stable and crunchy bite while keeping the great texture of the cheese. Final Verdict Despite these small suggestions, this is a great restaurant that you should definitely check out. The flavors are delicious and the overall experience is wonderful.

As this was just down the street from our office in the Kemper Business District, she thought this would be a cool place to hang out to recap the year for our department and she was right. The place itself is a cute house with what looks like a cool outdoor space, when the weather is nicer. Inside is a small bar when you first walk through the front door. We we seated in a small room off from the main bar, next to a lovely fireplace. We started out with charcuterie boards. Prices range from 4 pieces for $30, 6 pieces for $46 and 8 pieces for $58. The selection of meats and cheeses and were very nice, but the prices seemed steep. The cheeses and meats were as follows: Wooley Rind (Green Dirt Farm) - soft ripened sheep's milk MontAmore (Sartori) - semi firm Italian style Cheddar Goat Gouda (Central Coast Creamery) - crumbly aged goat cheese "Creamy Sexy Blue" - German triple cream cow's milk with blue veining Jamon Serrano, aged 24 months Stagberry - Elk Salami with dried blueberries Finocchiona - Tuscan style salami with fennel seed Pig & Fig Terrine - Country style pork pate with dried figs, cinnamon, ginger All were very good and had a lovely flavor. Due to the number of people nibbling, I asked for extra bread and was treated with toasted sourdough, which was very nice. For dinner, I got the Chicken Tinga Panini (Tomato-Chipotle Chicken, Queso Oaxaca, Arugula, served with Salsa Verde & Guacamole). This was a very good sandwich. I loved the idea of Chicken Tinga in a sandwich format, and it worked. I had saved half of it to take home to have for breakfast the next day, but got wrapped up in good-byes and walked out and left it. Man I was mad! My manager ordered the Roasted Beets (with whipped Feta cheese, toasted pistachios, red onion, dill and a red wine vinaigrette). The serving was huge! She loves beets and said that the dish was very good A few people got the Broccoli Cheddar soup and said it was very good. I wanted to try the oysters as I love East Coast ones, but at $20 for 6, couldn't wrap my mind around that. The wine list was pretty good and on this particular night, we got bottles for a crazy low price. My manager got a bottle of red (can't remember the name) that was $75, but she got it for half price. Same for me for a lovely bottle of sparkling rose. The hostess had a list of wines on her tablet that she showed us as well that were 50% off. The location is quite a drive from Chicago, but the times I have to go to Lake Zurich for team meetings, I may just stop in to camp out for eats and drinks while waiting for my Uber and rush hour traffic to die out.

First, the good: the wine list, although on the pricier side; the live music; the French fries, which are fried in beef tallow and came out crispy and hot; the Oklahoma burger is tasty. Now the bad: the communication between the kitchen and our server. My dining companion ordered a Farmer's Market flatbread because it was about the only thing on the menu that was "vegan-friendly" when made without cheese. The server didn't think this would be an issue, so he puts in our order. We wait over half an hour for our food and when it comes out, there's cheese all over the flatbread. We send it back to be remade without the cheese and he comes back out and says that it can't be made without cheese. Well, why didn't the kitchen staff tell him that when they first saw the order come in instead of sending it out not how it was ordered or telling us that right away so my friend could order something else? She pivots and orders a hummus platter, which she could have had at home for a lot less $! I call the manager over as he's passing our table to let him know what happened and he needs to address the poor communication from his chef to the server, at which time he kind of scoffs at me with a "whatever, lady" kind of look and "yeah, I guess I do," and proceeds to walk away. No offer to comp her food or maybe our wine or anything else. So, although my food was edible and tasty, I'd think twice about going back there. We sat at a high top in the bar and it seemed like our server was acting as server and bartender, so he kept going to make drinks instead of being able to be attentive to the tables he had. They need to do better! Addendum: my friend said they were always able to accommodate her at their old location.

It took a number of years but enterprising restauranteurs laid claim to appropriate buildings and neighborhoods opening places where you could actually get something interesting to eat. Hell, even BERWYN has a fine-dining joint (or 2)! The "3rd Street" corridor in Batavia is prima facie evidence this crusade is thriving, as there are a BUNCH of great places on that Rue to stuff your face in style, (and drink accordingly.) We've been working our way down the street; as I have been in the mood for French, Le Cochon was high on the list. It was late afternoon when I and a foodie pal of mine visited. The rooms were at once light, open and airy, yet personal. The bar was adjacent and it looked heroically stocked. The waiter was personable and pleasant. The menu shouted "Bistro", and actually was sort of irritating, 'cos even after poring over it online before, everything looked so good I couldn't make up my mind! But rules are rules, and I have mine. When I go into a place for the first time, I always try to get the specialty of the house. As this is a "bistro" I finally swung with the Escargot and Steak Frites. Cliche'd, I know, but c'est le cuisine. My pal bucked tradition and went with a Burger. I should say here the house is known for a Pork Belly dish, but Belly of Pork (unless it's cured into Bacon) is a protein I will not eat. There's not much I won't stuff down my gullet, but Pork Belly is one. I just don't like that much fat. The good news? More for YOU! But I digress... The 'Scargots were classic in prep and top-notch in quality. As expected there was a lagniappe course in sopping pieces of the excellent baguette provided from the bread service in the garlicky butter remaining after munching the snails. It was a Hanger Steak wot arrived on my plate replete with an herb-y compound butter. I ordered the steak "Rare-Bleu", and it was the perfect temp, even with serious char marking. The steak was chunk-cut when served. I blessed the chef for seasoning the steak deftly. The Frites came with ketchup and aioli, they were great. There was nothing out of the ordinary about my pals burger, but he IS a knowledgeable foodie and reported it was delicious. Burgers are pretty easy to do, but to get one of championship quality takes skill. Notable were the two rashers of excellent, thick Bacon hanging over the sides of the sandwich. The chef here hit the mark! The Predominantly French WineList is dizzying expensive for bottles. My pal is an experienced oenophile and says the list shows care, but Oy! the prices! He's a very successful businessman, and even HE thought the prices were high. In contrast, the "per glass" prices were normal. LeCochon IS in a posh neighborhood, after all. I had a glass of Rhône blend which was hand-in-glove with my steak. Flavors outasite! Fine coffee and a classic Crème Brûlée for afters. I know somewhere behind the bar they prolly had a Calvados, which would have topped the meal off with a gold ribbon, but I was driving, and there are many miles between LeCochon and Stately Breakwind Manor. A wonderful feed, and a surprisingly good value considering the high quality. I'll bet that "light and airy" vibe turns quite romantic after dark; but know the tables are actually quite cozy together. There are a few booths available-try to snarf one of those if you're on a date. Throwing 5 for this super boîte. Eat here soon!

5 stars for sure. 1st time going, so getting the lay of the land was awkward. Employees seem to…read morethink everyone is a repeat customer. Everyone is nice, but less helpful. Food is Spectacular!!! I can't wait to go back. BLT...perfect. Northside Johnny was amazing. My 1 complaint was about the BBQ baked beans. I asked for a side, and was told NO. You have to buy a bbq combo platter to be allowed to buy beans.......weird, right? How difficult is it to serve a side and charge me. Oh well, we are going back anyway. Awesome find and worth a try if you have a little patience.

Volo Quality Meats is an Italian butcher and deli. We were in the area and was looking for a deli,…read more On a Sunday afternoon the place was packed. There is limited parking and we were able to secure the last open spot. When we walked in we were greeted by one of the butchers, while he was carving beef. The deli showcases a large variety of meats. There are also several freezers with packaged meats. We bought a few varieties. They have a diverse menu of sandwiches. Sandwiches were priced a bit high, but it they were high quality. I had their signature sandwich -the Franklin. It was recognized by Chicago Magazine as one of the city's best dishes. It was roasted turkey , sofrito aioli, cheddar, avocado, arugula, and pickled red onions on sourdough. It was a blend of flavors. My husband had the reuben . It was in house-prepared Brisket Corned Beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and a tangy Russian dressing. We had a side pasta salad and potato salad . There is indoor seating and almost all of the tables were taken. Prices are a but steep, but the quality was very good.
