If I had given this review last year I probably would have given Main Street Parking a 5 star review. It was (note the past tense) a clean, safe, okay priced parking area for John Wayne airport. My wife and I regularly parked at Main Street Parking when taking trips from John Wayne Airport. The daily charge of $14 wasn't cheap, but it was manageable. We were shocked (and the reason for the 1 star review) to be charged $20 a day for a fee of $160 for an 8-day stay in January. While increasing the fee to account for inflation makes sense, a 43% increase from December 31st, 2024 to January 1st, 2025 is exorbitant for an Orange County-owned facility. The inflation rate in the US in 2024 was 2.9%. The increase in the parking fee is nearly 15 times that of inflation. This outrageous increase does not serve the needs of the community, especially those, like my wife and I, who are middle class. This increase makes traveling from John Wayne Airport very expensive. This fee is on par with LAX without the cheap flights that you can get from there. Unless your trip is 4 days or less, it is cheaper to take an Uber, Lyft or taxi from most places in Orange County to the airport rather than park at Main Street Parking. For example, my wife and I just returned from a 5 night trip but this time we took a Lyft to/from home. It was less expensive than what we would have paid for parking at Main Street Parking. (In the past for a 5 night trip we would just parked at Main Street Parking.) The cost is so high that we started looking at LAX for future trips and discovered that we could park there for $14 plus get the cheaper and non-stop flights from LAX. Yes, a longer drive but we saved on flights for an upcoming trip, no need for a connecting flight and $14 a night parking. (See the $14 a night quote attached.) We're not the only one thinking this way. When we returned to John Wayne airport on this last trip, lots of people were waiting for Ubers and Lyfts. The Lyft driver was surprised. Maybe all those people realized what we did: it's too expensive to park at Main Street Parking. The $20 a night fee limits the number of people who can actually afford to park at Main Street Parking to those on business trips (who will get the cost reimbursed) or those for whom money is no object. read more

Decent parking option since on-site parking at John Wayne (and surrounding hotels) has gotten out of hand. We paid $20/day with a free shuttle. Easy access off Main St. Take a ticket at the gate and park anywhere. It's all outdoor parking and seemingly well lit. Note the shuttle drivers do not assist with luggage, so just be aware. Also, not sure if this is the norm but our driver dropped us off on the Arrivals level instead of Departures. Weird, but easy enough to take the escalator up from baggage claim. Overall, happy to park here again. read more

Unbelievable! I made a wrong turn into this parking lot. There is no way to turn around once you are in the lane. Drove straight through the parking lot to the exit, and they wouldn't let me out. No grace period $1.00. Any normal day that would be annoying but doable. However, today I jumped in the car to pickup my daughter at the airport and had no purse. Nothing with me. The girl at the gate refused to get a supervisor, or allow me to leave. I explained I had nothing. Long story short, we found 50 cents in dimes, nickels, and pennies in the change cup in my car and my daughter had the additional $.50 It has been a long time since I couldn't pay a bill, but this is we sent even a bill, it was kidnapping. Have used this lot for many years and every time the bus drivers have been prompt and courteous. The lot is brightly lit and clean, plus it's much less expensive than parking on the airport lot. No, it means "main St parking" company. And by the time you take this "exit" it's too late and you have to take a ticket, enter the parking area and pay to exit. I find this parking very convenient. Pricing isn't too bad. But the place is only a quarter-mile away. It's an open lot. So your vehicle won't be protected from the weather. But this is Orange County. So the only weather you are going to get is sun. The shuttles run every 15 minutes. During holiday time they have more shuttles. Late at night they have 1 to 2 shuttles. I've never seen this place full. But I have seen it packed. I docked a star. Due to the fact that when you're in a hurry. They won't leave until the 15 minutes are up. So if you're running late. You can try to bribe them. But good luck. Most of their staff are friendly. But they tend to be like any other shuttle driver. read more

I used this parking lot for a 5 day trip in Feb. 2024, mid-day departure. I easily found a spot close to the shuttles. There was a shuttle leaving when I arrived and another waiting to depart on a 15-min schedule. The shuttle driver pointed out exactly where we would pick up the shuttle on our return. On my return a shuttle was waiting in the designated area. I drove through the pay station, paid the $14 per day fee and left within a few moments. Easy as it gets! Unbelievable - this is a literally fucking scam of a "business". You take the wrong exit off the freeway and you're charged $1 to drive through their parking lot Their employees are fucking brainwashed to defend the company's policy rather than treat people like human beings. I recently used this parking lot for the first time, and the shuttle rides went smoothly. The drivers don't help with lifting luggage onto the racks though, and I was fine with that. But people with large suitcases struggled a bit. For $14 a day, I'll use this lot again for my next trip. read more

After traveling all day, we get to John Wayne Airport Main Street parking shuttle and the driver offered no greeting or help with bags. The #10 shuttle driver was to busy on his cell phone. After we had already lifted the bags, he said " you got that?". Unbelievable! We are able, but we are 65 and heavy bags are difficult. This is the best parking deal if you're flying out of SNA/John Wayne Airport ! It used to be $11 a day - but has recently gone up to $14/day - still, considerably cheaper than its terminal parking cousins at $20/day. It's long-term, no-frills, park, lock and leave it parking. It's not covered - but keep in mind you're in Socal - 320 days of sun. If your car really is that precious - leave it at home and take a cab or pay through the nose for terminal parking (I hear they will even wash/wax your car in valet now). The shuttle comes around about every 15 minutes to take you to/from the airport. This is a free shuttle, but I always think it's good karma to tip the drive $2-$3. Shuttle runs until 11pm (ish). The ride itself is anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes, depending on traffic. Another plus - this parking lot is rarely full. Terminal parking tends to fill up a lot during the holidays - and if you don't give yourself enough time to get to the airport to find this out - you may be late for your flight. You can pay with cash, check or credit card at this lot - via the attendant or through the airport's new ticketless entry/exit system using your credit card. Overall, a great deal - not sure what's with all the low-star reviews - if you want first-class service for your car while you're away - pay $22/day for the valet or $20 for terminal parking. read more

The prices have changed over the years (as in higher!) but its a convenient lot, shuttle run frequently, and its not in the congested main terminal. I had an issue with the cashier. He kept telling me how to pay, and said that I need to learn since eventually automatic cashiers will take over his job. A kooky old guy. Anyhoo, I'll keep parking in the off street lot. SUPER happy with this place! It's $14 a day, which is still pretty steep, compared with the local hotels that have parking around $10. However, there was TONS of parking at the lot and I didn't wait more than 5 minutes for a shuttle on either side of the trip. That to me, was well worth the price. I've waited the full 30 minutes for hotel shuttles when the actual hotel is just a half mile away. That part's infuriating. And the taxi drivers are furious at you for driving them to the hotel too. My first time flying out of John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana and I knew I needed to park my car some place for a few days so after looking at the airport website, this parking lot was recommended since it was lower priced than the parking structures directly across from the airport terminal. A shuttle was provided and very easy and quick. The shuttle was easy to find at the lot and at the terminal. $14/day was better than $20/day and my car was just as I left it. We parked from Thursday morning until Sunday morning and there was plenty of parking spaces on both days. The lot is easy to find. So if you're looking for a good deal on parking at SNA, this is your best bet. read more

Same reason for a 1-star review as everyone else; freeway sign makes it seem like this is the exit to Main Street, but when you get off the only option is to pull a ticket and then pay $1 at the exit to leave with no leeway. Called my credit card company, explained the situation, and they agreed it's BS and refunded my $1 and issued them a chargeback. Hopefully everyone this happens to does the same; a chargeback fee is $25-$100 and if they get hit enough times maybe they'll change their predatory policy. read more

I always park at Main Street and use their shuttle. Never have to wait too long for the shuttle to happen on by and pick me up, and their drivers are always courteous and safe. Today, the guy said "good morning" with a smile to every passenger he onboarded. He also gave a shout out for which airline terminal was coming up next for the drop off, which was a nice touch. I once had a Chinese driver who had that little bus whipping around corners like it was caught up in the tornado from The Wizard of Oz...I was literally frightened for my life...BUT, that guy didn't last long at that job. The dark ages bridge troll is alive and well, and now has a credit card kiosk to make robbery seamless. Make a wrong turn? You are forced to pay $1 to exit. Don't try turning around either as you would be driving into oncoming traffic on the freeway. Misleading exit sign for Main street. Probably a one-off but their entire system was down when I was trying to exit. This resulted in taking over 30 minutes to exit the lot as the employees were completely incapable of figuring out protocol. Protocol was to manually calculate the amount needed to pay (shouldn't have been hard) and I'm not sure what non-cash payment was processed but the lady still had to walk around and take my license plate before letting me pass. There is a confusing off-ramp sign on the highway saying "Main Street" so we took the exit. Once on the ramp we realized "Main Street" is actually a parking lot but there is no way to exit or turn around. We were forced to enter the lot, then exit immediately (literally within 30 seconds). Operated by the airport, this convenient long-term parking lot is currently $2/hour, up to $14/day (and about a free 10-minute grace period). You can access it off Main Street, or from the terminal by following the signs to the 55 North. Off the 405, take the MacArthur exit and follow the signs. If you're on the 55 South, it's also easier to take that MacArthur exit and turn left; right at Red Hill; left on Main. It's an open-air lot that will fill up during holidays; otherwise, there's ample parking. The shuttles run every 10-15 minutes and are consistent; however, these are small shuttles, so if you are there during a busy time you'll be crammed in or have to wait until another one. The drivers are good about helping out with your luggage. The cool thing (if you're weird like me) is that it's right under the flight path of the (usually) arriving planes, so you'll get an earful of roar when one lands. You'll also get a layer of jet crap if you park there for a while. read more

Didn't realize that this was a toll exit, and by that I mean a parking lot where even if one doesn't park and takes less than 15 minutes, less than 5, than it still costs a dollar. Seems like 15 minutes free would be understandable as is the standard anywhere else, including the likes of places much more of a rip off such as Los Angelos. $14 per day, as of the time of this review. Although the address of this parking lot is in Irvine, it is less than a 5 minute shuttle ride away from the airport terminals. Having the convenience of this parking lot, mixed with the speediness of the SNA airport, together with the existence of a small Admirals Club in the airport, has made me a big fan of flying out of SNA lately. The signs say that the shuttle arrives every 15 minutes, but of the times I've used this parking lot, it's seemed like the shuttles come around more frequently than that. Very easy to park and get a ride from the shuttle to the airport. The shuttles run every 10-15 mins or so, and in the morning when we arrived there was one already waiting there. Pick up and drop off were both very easy. I only waited about 5 minutes outside at the airport to be picked up. Why all the low star reviews? You get what you pay for - In and Out Quickly. Every time I park...there is a tram waiting for me. Within 5 minutes I'm at the airport walking into the airport to check in and get my boarding pass. When I arrive back from my trip...the tram arrives at the waiting spot within minutes and I'm on the tram and back to my car within minutes since John Wayne has a direct connect ramp over the freeway to this parking lot. Who wants to walk long distances to find your car with all of your luggage when you can take Main Street Parking who will drop you off within sight of your vehicle. The drivers are always working those tips by loading and uploading your bags- Be nice and tip a buck for each bag. Parking is outdoors which creates a very dirty car upon your return since the planes fly directly overhead. Very quick to freeway access (405 and 55) read more

Like many reviewers before me have mentioned, if you take the exit out of SNA to Main Street you will end up in a parking lot. There is no way to u-turn out of it. So I payed a dollar to drive thru the parking lot. Pretty flipping annoying. read more
