The girl at the register was very friendly while helping me and taking phone orders. I think everyone is biased towards the Mexican food they have eaten the most of and for me that's San Diego. I got 4 tacos for pick up: ground beef, steak, pastor and barbacoa. Right off the bat, all tacos had a very generous amount of meat and onion/cilantro (my choice of topping) in them. However, on top of that here is what I loved about each taco: Ground beef: it was actually quite well seasoned! All other ground beef tacos I've had in the area are just plain. This one had a beautiful seasoning flavor to it. It caught me by surprise! Steak: it was your typical small cubed low quality taco meat steak. Not as flavorful as the ground beef, but honesty still really good Al pastor: the SEASONING and FLAVOR were just awesome . Honestly most well seasoned pastor I've had in a while. What for me personally could have made this a 10/10, would be if they served it with grilled pineapple mixed in. However that's just my personal flavor preference lol. Overall, still one of the best Al pastor in the area. Barbacoa: it was super moist and tender and again the flavor profile of the way they seasoned it when cooking was just Also got chips and guacamole. Very good. Nice chunks, and not puréed like some places do. Overall I will definitely be coming back here to try the other dishes! Highly recommend!

Should be doing better than it is. Maybe trimming the hours of operation?

Excellent burritos, I really like the steak burrito grande, Al pastor tacos. Working our way through the menu. Allow at least 10 minutes lead time for carryout of course. There's a small dining room in the back with maybe 6 tables. Not big, very small parking in front, maybe 6 cars but it's Wauconda. Even during the lunchtime rush it's not that busy but we hit it during the Ice Fishing contest weekend & two other people behind me. NO problem. I hope they put a table out in front in the Summer, decent view of Bangs Lake. Highly recommended by my realtor, he may own the place ;~). GOOD. No alcohol. Be there. read more

I feel like I only eat in Wauconda lately which is turning out to be a good thing. I love local businesses and try to avoid chains whenever possible. The only negative I have to say is they basically have no seating. A counter for four, however I feel it would be unfair to dock them on the size of there place. This is what you get: great take out place and if you are lucky may find a seat at the counter for lunch. Fresh mexican food served by owners who are appreciative of your business. This place is the best and thats a fact!! I have had alot of different taco places all over and this goldmine is in my back yard. Food is always fresh, decently priced and the owners are super freindly. Must haves in my book are beef or steak tostadas, steak or el pastor sopes and if you like it hot ask for the habanro salsa..
