Our Craftsmen mower has been giving us trouble for months. Prior to visiting Maisch, we had it serviced twice at Ranchmart ACE only to have the same issue reappear both times. So we decided to give Maisch a try. They identified a part they thought might be responsible for our issue (I believe it was the choke valve) and replaced it. We got it home and it worked fine that first time out, but two weeks later, when it was time to mow the lawn again, same problem reappeared again! Three attempts to get the problem fixed, and $180 dollars later, I was ready to chuck the mower and buy a new one. But the wife insisted I take it back to Maisch one more time. This time they replaced the carburetor, and did it for free!! Not sure yet if the problem is permanently fixed, but either way, Maisch is definitely the model of excellent customer service. We will trust them with all our future mower repair needs and recommend our friends do the same. read more

I would highly recommend this business. I was having problems with my lawnmower. The technician was very friendly. He came to my house of course for an additional fee took care of the problem and my lawnmower is running like a charm. It was $160 a little pricey, but I think it was worth it. It's very convenient. I did have problems with making an appointment online. They actually did not have my appointment, but they rectified it immediately and was able to send out a technician so I would suggest if you make an appointment online to call and just verify. read more

This is a good place to get work done on your small engines. I had a small generator with a bad idle so I dropped it off. They said it will be about 2 weeks but I was able to get it back in a tad over a week which was pretty amazing. The only problem is While they had my generator a button got broken and nobody fixed it or told me about it. When I got home I ran the generator to make sure it was fixed, thats when I discovered the broke button. Not to much of a big deal because I called the shop right away they ordered a replacement on the spot no questions asked. In all it was a little inconvenience nothing major and they handled it all like professionals The generator runs perfect btw and yeah I would definitely go back here because you can tell a shop is pretty great by the way they handle problems. They handled it great! everyone is really friendly and they do great work. The 4 stars isn't to discourage people it's more of a simple reminder to look over your equipment. read more

I was happy to find a company that offered pick up/delivery for my Husqvarna riding lawnmower. The mower needed a new V-Belt. The cost of the belt was $29.89. Including parts/labor/delivery I paid +$425 for the repair and paid over the phone prior to the mower being returned to me. Big mistake. Upon delivery today, I noticed a cable laying across the mower deck and asked the driver, Steve, about it. Steve commented that maybe the rough drive from the shop to my house knocked the cable loose and tried fastening it to no avail. Steve determined that the cable controls the pulley that engages the mower blades. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the loose cable. When they picked the mower up there weren't any cables hanging over the mower deck! Steve called Todd, at the shop and Todd sent a photo of another Husqvarna mower in their shop with the same cable hanging over the deck. Husqvarna doesn't sell their mowers with a cable hanging over the deck and there was no cable hanging over the deck before Maisch picked the mower up. Maisch's attempt to "normalize" the condition of my mower when it was returned is beyond frustrating. A $425 lesson learned the hard way. Take your Husqvarna riding lawnmowers someplace else. UPDATE: Todd came out this afternoon and found a way to secure the cable dangling over the mower deck. I appreciate Maisch's attempt to resolve the situation and will definitely use their services again. Thank you, Maisch! read more

Greedy company, take your business elsewhere. I brought in a mower that I knew what was wrong with, showed the guy, he agreed that this was the problem, and had to just reach out to John Deere to ask about a part. The part was a literal piece of plastic, were talking 10 cents of materials at most, and because John Deere practices repair exclusion and is a terrible company they wanted 200+ dollars for an entirely new "system" instead of supplying the part. While John Deere's terrible business practices aren't their fault, they charged me almost 50 dollars for a "diagnostic fee" on something they literally didn't have to diagnose and when I protested their attitude was pretty much "too bad on you for being a sucker". I've never been so upset at a local business. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Wow. Such a great experience here when my lawnmower was malfunctioning. This is also an authorized Stihl dealer with lots of power tools and landscaping accessories to drool over inside their shop. Despite their Stihl partnership, they also work on all appliances, including my Craftsman. Everything about my experience here was fantastic. They listened patiently about my issue, quoted me a reasonable price, and got my mower back to me within 3 days of dropping it off. One of the issues was actually my own fault and the fact they didn't rub it in my face made me feel better about myself. $69 for service (including air filter, spark plug, blade sharpening, and other general services) + the cost of self-propelled repair is a deal for the speedy turnaround and great customer care. Will definitely return for more services. read more

Took them my Huskvarna mower with a Honda engine. 4 years old, broken pull rope, in need of general maintenance and some minor fixes. They brought it back to like-new condition, quickly and for a reasonable fee. Unassuming guys, in an unassuming shop, doing very good work. They were not the closest small engine repair shop to me, but I am glad to have driven a little farther to have done business with Maisch. read more

I was taken back by such great customer service. The manager their and the others were supper knowledgeable on my weed eater as well as my Honda lawn mower. I am not sure how their prices compare to other shops because it doesn't matter with the quality of service they provide. read more

Best place in Kansas City for all your Stihl products! Have a variety of other products as well including tree industry gear! Never go anywhere else. Been a customer since 2010 and haven't looked back. A must visit shop before making any decisions on outdoor tools. Something broken? I was in the tree service business for 16 years and switched to these guys for repairing and buying new saws. This store was not the closest to me but the customer service was top notch. I would not buy a Stihl from anybody else. Good job guys. It is getting very rare to find a shop like yours. read more

I have lived in Lenexa since 1969. I can't remember how long ago Mike started his business but I think he was in business since I moved here. I went to Maisch because you knew the repair would be right, the purchase would be right and the customer service would be perfect. I bought many items from Mike over the years. I was sad to see him retire and sell his business. However Mike must have instilled the importance of customer service in the new owners. Good people.
