My wife and I were attracted to Maison because it has the same owner as Giana Bakery and Provisions, which is one of our favorite restaurants. I ordered the Kale salad and added salmon. It did not disappoint! The salad was very flavorful and the kale was the perfect texture. The salmon was crispy on the outside and moist and tender in the inside. It was pretty expensive, but absolutely worth it. My wife ordered toast with strawberries, bananas and nuts. She enjoyed it very much. The place is very nicely decorated and our service was excellent. It was a great experience. Unfortunately, I hear the restaurant will be closing at the end of the year. I will definitely visit again before that happens.

Cute brunch place in the middle of town. Went for a weekend brunch situation. Parking was a bit tough, but found some street parking eventually. Was sat immediately - def make an RSVP if you go. Ordered their duck confit dish, a quiche, and Dutch baby. The duck dish and quiche were ok - like well made but memorable. The Dutch baby was delicious and served as a good desert. What was a bit off with the restaurant is that there is no ketchup available - was given some sort of mildly spicy sauce instead. I like my eggs with ketchup often, especially when it's a little on the bland side, so not having this with the quiche was no bueno.
This place is amazing! I actually found Maison on yelp searching restaurants in Dana Point. The patio is dog friendly and they even brought out this cute dog bowl with water. My husband and I dined here to celebrate our baby moon. We made a reservation for the patio at 5:45pm on a Saturday but the patio never filled so maybe they would've accepted walk ins. The food was so good! We shared everything. The bread came with butter and olive oil and vinegar, but the butter was my favorite. I actually boxed up the leftover bread to take home! For our entrees we shared the branzino special, steak, and risotto. The portions were huge and we took a lot home. I love that the fish basically came with a salad on top. We loved dinner so much we tried stopping in for breakfast on our way back to San Diego after our trip but they're closed on Mondays. We'll have to try breakfast another time.

I had been here before for lunch and breakfast. This time I had dinner and am posting my first review about Maison. Dana Point has many "okay/good" restaurants. Maison joins a smaller group of "very good" restaurants in this town. My group of six ordered a lot of food. So much that we decided to take some home and eat them as leftovers. One indicator I use to measure a very good/great meal is to taste the "leftover food" the next day. Too often the left overs taste salty and oily. Not so for my Maison meal. It tasted like a delicacy. I've had excellent breakfasts, lunches and now a dinner at Maison and I now feel strongly to recommend it as one of the best in Dana point. The environment/setting was perfect for us complete with a talented guitarists and singer and excellent waiter. I'll be back!
Amazing service great food you will not be disappointed. My husband made a reservation the day before and really glad we did as they won't take reservations the day of. We had 11 am on a Sunday and had outside patio seating. Our waitress was so sweet and accommodating. Everything was done to perfection.
The D'affinois is the best appetizer I've ever had! The combination of the sautéed mushrooms, d'affinois cheese and honey on the slice of baguette is now top 5 things I've ever eaten. Service was fantastic! Very great date place.

I'll say the Dutch baby was quite highly reviewed but wasn't anything special. maybe my fault for reading reviews that overhyped it (ppl said it rendered pancakes obsolete) lol but it was pretty mediocre and normal. suggest getting anything else. also the water glasses are frustratingly tiny, you'll have to refill it constantly and they basically didn't give any service on that front. my bf got the steak and eggs w potato, he enjoyed that but the skin on potato was so tough you can't even bite through some of them.
I've seen this restaurant so many times when we drive by it or go to Bear Coast (the coffee shop across the street). I can't believe this was my first time here- it was amazing! Came for a girl's lunch and it was perfect for that. Eating brunch here is like a beautiful adult tea party with delicious food. The ambiance is so sweet and charming- from the French-style decor to the beautiful dishes with intricate designs on them. The servers are quick and friendly. I got the ricotta toast- it had ricotta with blueberry and honey, and it was so yummy and filling. I also had a flat white with oat milk that was really good too. Love it here!

With sadness I make this post...the only restaurant we trust with our breakfast! The most amazing frittata ever! We had to visit one more time before closing on Christmas Eve! We loved that you allow pets on the patio so we didn't have to leave our yorkie at home! Please add the frittata onto the menu at Giana Thank you so much for everything! read more
My brother-n-law invited the whole family to a pre-thanksgiving breakfast at Maison Café & Market and let me tell you... our host was an absolute gem. She took our order, and about 15 minutes later I was living my best life with hands down the best steak and eggs I've ever had. The sirloin was pure beefy goodness and cooked exactly how I wanted. Honestly, it was a little slice of heaven on a plate. My sister and niece split the champignon toast and a Dutch baby that looked like it floated down from the brunch gods. My mom went classic with scrambled eggs and said they were buttery, soft, and delicious. I will be here all day of I describe everyone's meal so I will leave you with this... the whole place has this cozy library-café vibe with a cute little bar tucked in the corner. read more

I visited Maison Cafe & Market in Dana Point on a Friday morning, & it wasn't too crowded. Parking was no issue at all either. We got the goat cheese dip & the avocado toast--both dishes were delicious. The dishes they used were also adorable. I loved that it was just a short walk to the Dana Point arches for a beautiful ocean view after brunch. I would absolutely love to come again & try other menu items! read more
I recently went back to try their new location, and I must say, the upgrade is worth visiting! I didn't mind a short wait because the restaurant is only a couple-minute walk from a spectacular view, which you can also enjoy from their patio dining. Their service was extremely transparent and diligent about checking that the hummus is dairy free and the butter on the gravlax toast can be omitted. I continue to enjoy their gravlax--it's among my top 3 favorite lox--but the hummus ended up being the unexpected star of our brunch. The asparagus, broccolini, and carrots (you could almost mistake them for sweet potatoes!) are perfectly roasted, and while pita is often fluffy, I actually liked how the thinner, crispy pieces complemented the creamy nuttiness of the hummus alongside the sweet and lightly garlicky veggies. Overall, a lovely place for a date or feel-good brunch! read more
The cutest and coziest brunch spot in Dana Point. Very European, vintage and antique vibes inside and the menu offers so many fun toasts, entrees and apps! I loved my toast with arugula, avocado, parmesan, fried egg and tomatoes. The mushroom toast is lovely and flavorful - packs in so much flavor! Really great experience this weekend here with the family. Came as two adult couples, one 14 year old, and 2 puppies so we sat out on the back patio. Service was wonderful from the moment we arrived. Food: everything was fresh, many gluten free options (no GF pastries however)... and NO SEED OILS! Woohoo! I ordered the Duck Hash- yum! Parking: We luckily came early enough to find nearby street parking, but there's underground as well. We live local, we'll definitely be back! read more

I had been eyeing this place since the last time I was in Dana Point, but hadn't been able to go. Luckily, my friend was down in SD for the week and this was our halfway point, so we decided to get lunch here! We were sat quickly. The interior of the restaurant was very cute, and I loved the natural lighting. My instinct told me to go for tthe Duck Hash bowl... and it did NOT disappoint. I was happy with my decision because the bowl had the perfect amount of everything. Service was great. Restaurant was clean and spacious. I'm glad I got to try this place! read more

My go-to brunch spot on the weekdays! Maison is a cute restaurant that serves great food. Their new location is easily accessible and the area also offers coffee and juice if you didn't already grab it at the restaurant. There's even a Brusters Ice Cream less than a min walk away. Now back to Maison - it's already so popular but not surprised. Food is hearty and fills your tummy. Today I enjoyed the chicken salad and my friend had the Dutch Baby (a favorite)! Chicken salad had a lot of chicken meat with lettuce & peas along with two toasted slices of baguette. Absolutely delicious! The Dutch Baby looked delicious and when I had it before it wasn't too sweet. My ice latte with oat milk was good but their London Fog is one to remember. They add cinnamon on top which makes it extra delightful. The service is great here. I would recommend making reservations because it does get busy! read more
Maison cafe is great. It's on the corner of a popular food location for Dana Point. It has an outdoor area and an indoor area and they usually have very good service. The dishes are very clean here and they have a good menu to go with the cute inside area. Cheers! read more

What a great spot. European cafe style with China plates and cutest decor. Excellent food high quality, tastes like farm to table. Had the beet salad. Superb and halibut with asparagus risotto. Fabulous. Dessert was an epic finish with chocolate chip skillet cookie and salted carnal drizzle on vanilla ice cream. Our server was prompt and pleasant. Overall a winner for the evening. read more

First time visiting. Ambiance was great, decor was perfect. So sad to hear its closing. I had the chevre toast, so delicious, fluffy, creamy, and the perfect amount of food. My guest had the poulette tartine which looked beautiful. I also ordered a cinnamon latte with oat milk, so good! read more
Since we first had dinner here. We've now become regulars. We've had branzino at various places but Maison Cafe really gets it PERFECT. Love when our servers remember us. Ambiance is still the same. This place has become one of our favorite restaurants. read more
Grabbed breakfast on a Sunday morning after a hike. My friends and I didn't have any issues finding parking; we parked on the street across from the restaurant. We were also seated promptly. The architecture and design of this restaurant are lovely. It's clear that a lot of thought and creativity went into the decoration and the way the food was prepared. They have delicious toast for breakfast or brunch! My friend and I shared two of their toast items: the Tomate and the Champignon. There are plenty of options to choose from, and we both enjoyed what we ordered. I got an iced oat milk latte, sweetened with honey and a dash of cinnamon--perfectly made. My friend's husband got the Cured Salmon plate, and he was quite satisfied as well. I definitely recommend this spot, and if I lived closer to the restaurant, I'd eat here regularly. They also have a dinner menu, that I would love to try out! read more
Deeeelicious. Tasty dishes and comfort tasting french cuisine. Not as dark as a typical french restaurant (ha) but bright inside. Would love to come here again if I'm in the area. I would suggest making a reservation... The food does not come with bread as a typical french restaurant does, but I'd suggest getting some on the side to go with your meal :D Service is awesome, the server is on top of the specials and what's on the menu. read more
Came here on a beautiful Sunday hoping to try their chicken pot pie, but found out on Sundays they close early and only served breakfast and brunch menu. The Manhattan was delicious very smooth. The toast with mushrooms, wilted spinach and Gruyère cheese on it was tasty. I'm not sure what the sausage patty was made of, but it was a bit dry for me. The atmosphere is very relaxing and bright and cheery. The wait staff is very nice. Will definitely be back to try the chicken pot pie and some of their other dishes. The tartine POULETTE with pistou chicken had so much flavor from the balsamic and roasted tomatoes balanced off with the argula. Was seated quickly, attentive waitress, super friendly host. Negatives: music was so loud that I couldn't have a conversation. Tartine was super crunchy and I didn't find that very appealing. Good experience overall but I wouldn't return. read more

No. There are a variety of naturally gluten free or gluten friendly items. GF pancakes, French toast and Dutch babies are not available.
Do you serve sourdough toast?
When I was last there - a few weeks back - they did. They have fantastic bread. I always get the toast and the side of potato. We used to buy bread from them - not sure if they still sell it by the loaf

Hi Lucy... do you ever have those days where you want to eat eggs at 4pm? We do too. That's why we server our breakfast and lunch menu straight until dinner begins at 5pm. Thank you.
