My brother-n-law invited the whole family to a pre-thanksgiving breakfast at Maison Café & Market and let me tell you... our host was an absolute gem. She took our order, and about 15 minutes later I was living my best life with hands down the best steak and eggs I've ever had. The sirloin was pure beefy goodness and cooked exactly how I wanted. Honestly, it was a little slice of heaven on a plate. My sister and niece split the champignon toast and a Dutch baby that looked like it floated down from the brunch gods. My mom went classic with scrambled eggs and said they were buttery, soft, and delicious. My wife and I were attracted to Maison because it has the same owner as Giana Bakery and Provisions, which is one of our favorite restaurants. I ordered the Kale salad and added salmon. It did not disappoint! The salad was very flavorful and the kale was the perfect texture. The salmon was crispy on the outside and moist and tender in the inside. It was pretty expensive, but absolutely worth it. My wife ordered toast with strawberries, bananas and nuts. She enjoyed it very much. The place is very nicely decorated and our service was excellent. It was a great experience. Unfortunately, I hear the restaurant will be closing at the end of the year. Cute brunch place in the middle of town. Went for a weekend brunch situation. Parking was a bit tough, but found some street parking eventually. Was sat immediately - def make an RSVP if you go. Ordered their duck confit dish, a quiche, and Dutch baby. The duck dish and quiche were ok - like well made but memorable. The Dutch baby was delicious and served as a good desert. What was a bit off with the restaurant is that there is no ketchup available - was given some sort of mildly spicy sauce instead. This place is amazing! I actually found Maison on yelp searching restaurants in Dana Point. The patio is dog friendly and they even brought out this cute dog bowl with water. My husband and I dined here to celebrate our baby moon. We made a reservation for the patio at 5:45pm on a Saturday but the patio never filled so maybe they would've accepted walk ins. The food was so good! We shared everything. The bread came with butter and olive oil and vinegar, but the butter was my favorite. I actually boxed up the leftover bread to take home! For our entrees we shared the branzino special, steak, and risotto. The portions were huge and we took a lot home. I love that the fish basically came with a salad on top. We loved dinner so much we tried stopping in for breakfast on our way back to San Diego after our trip but they're closed on Mondays. We'll have to try breakfast another time. read more

A charming and spacious brunch spot in downtown Dana Point! The interior is filled with beautiful natural lighting and French decor. We were seated promptly on a weekend afternoon. Their pastry display looked delicious and filled with kouign amann, muffins, and cinnamon rolls. We decided to order their very popular Dutch baby and steak and eggs. I had been here before for lunch and breakfast. This time I had dinner and am posting my first review about Maison. Dana Point has many "okay/good" restaurants. Maison joins a smaller group of "very good" restaurants in this town. My group of six ordered a lot of food. So much that we decided to take some home and eat them as leftovers. One indicator I use to measure a very good/great meal is to taste the "leftover food" the next day. Too often the left overs taste salty and oily. Not so for my Maison meal. It tasted like a delicacy. I've had excellent breakfasts, lunches and now a dinner at Maison and I now feel strongly to recommend it as one of the best in Dana point. The environment/setting was perfect for us complete with a talented guitarists and singer and excellent waiter. I'll be back! read more

I'll say the Dutch baby was quite highly reviewed but wasn't anything special. maybe my fault for reading reviews that overhyped it (ppl said it rendered pancakes obsolete) lol but it was pretty mediocre and normal. suggest getting anything else. also the water glasses are frustratingly tiny, you'll have to refill it constantly and they basically didn't give any service on that front. my bf got the steak and eggs w potato, he enjoyed that but the skin on potato was so tough you can't even bite through some of them. read more

I've seen this restaurant so many times when we drive by it or go to Bear Coast (the coffee shop across the street). I can't believe this was my first time here- it was amazing! Came for a girl's lunch and it was perfect for that. Eating brunch here is like a beautiful adult tea party with delicious food. I recently went back to try their new location, and I must say, the upgrade is worth visiting! I didn't mind a short wait because the restaurant is only a couple-minute walk from a spectacular view, which you can also enjoy from their patio dining. Their service was extremely transparent and diligent about checking that the hummus is dairy free and the butter on the gravlax toast can be omitted. I continue to enjoy their gravlax--it's among my top 3 favorite lox--but the hummus ended up being the unexpected star of our brunch. The asparagus, broccolini, and carrots (you could almost mistake them for sweet potatoes!) are perfectly roasted, and while pita is often fluffy, I actually liked how the thinner, crispy pieces complemented the creamy nuttiness of the hummus alongside the sweet and lightly garlicky veggies. Really great experience this weekend here with the family. Came as two adult couples, one 14 year old, and 2 puppies so we sat out on the back patio. Service was wonderful from the moment we arrived. A very cute brunch/lunch spot in Dana Point! I was in the area, and wasn't sure of what this place served, but looking in, I knew it was going to be a treat. They have a very spacious dining space, but also offers a counter to order items togo. I was looking to grab a quick coffee, so I opted to get their latte. You can tell they make it fresh, because I watched the guy make the espresso shot and everything. The latte was milky, yet with a strong espresso taste, which was perfect for me! It took about five-ish minutes, so not long at all. I'm excited to come back in the future to try more items on their menu. read more

Their new location is easily accessible and the area also offers coffee and juice if you didn't already grab it at the restaurant. There's even a Brusters Ice Cream less than a min walk away. Now back to Maison - it's already so popular but not surprised. Food is hearty and fills your tummy. Today I enjoyed the chicken salad and my friend had the Dutch Baby (a favorite)! Chicken salad had a lot of chicken meat with lettuce & peas along with two toasted slices of baguette. Absolutely delicious! The Dutch Baby looked delicious and when I had it before it wasn't too sweet. My ice latte with oat milk was good but their London Fog is one to remember. My daughter and I met a friend halfway between OC and San Diego which happened to be Dana Point for us. I made a reservation for 3 people for 1 p.m. at Maison Cafe & Market on a Saturday just to ensure we'd get a table. When we got there, it was unclear who had a reservation and who was waiting to put their names down. The hostess was hardly around when we first arrived and when she was around, she would only speak to those who stopped her. She finally got around to where I was and I mentioned I had a reservation. She told me that they were just waiting for our table to clear, so my daughter and I waited until our friend arrived. We weren't seated until closer 1:30 p.m. We opted to share a few items that peaked our interest: the mushroom toast, a dutch pancake, and sausage frittata. I ordered a vanilla latte while my friend ordered an Arnold Palmer. Our food came out rather quickly and we started off with the mushroom toast. This had a great flavor and crispy bread. The frittata was next which came out piping hot. It was also very good. Last but certainly not least was the dutch pancake. So light and airy, but so sweet and delicious. All three of us enjoyed our selection. I'd highly recommend getting a reservation for Maison Cafe & Market ahead of time, and prepare to step up to say you're there since you might not see a hostess for a bit. read more

Grabbed breakfast on a Sunday morning after a hike. My friends and I didn't have any issues finding parking; we parked on the street across from the restaurant. We were also seated promptly. The architecture and design of this restaurant are lovely. It's clear that a lot of thought and creativity went into the decoration and the way the food was prepared. They have delicious toast for breakfast or brunch! My friend and I shared two of their toast items: the Tomate and the Champignon. There are plenty of options to choose from, and we both enjoyed what we ordered. I got an iced oat milk latte, sweetened with honey and a dash of cinnamon--perfectly made. My friend's husband got the Cured Salmon plate, and he was quite satisfied as well. I definitely recommend this spot, and if I lived closer to the restaurant, I'd eat here regularly. Came here on a beautiful Sunday hoping to try their chicken pot pie, but found out on Sundays they close early and only served breakfast and brunch menu. The Manhattan was delicious very smooth. The toast with mushrooms, wilted spinach and Gruyère cheese on it was tasty. I'm not sure what the sausage patty was made of, but it was a bit dry for me. The atmosphere is very relaxing and bright and cheery. The wait staff is very nice. Will definitely be back to try the chicken pot pie and some of their other dishes.
