Just okay. I came for a quick pastry and it was all ready to go. The sandwiches looked good for a grab and go. I got the coffee eclair and chocolate chip financier. Eclair pastry was surprisingly salty. Their financier was okay. The passion black iced tea was good! Nothing special. They said there was no option for flavorings for their latte. Don't understand the hype. Maybe I didn't get the right desserts.

Variety of items to satisfy any craving. We always make sure to have breakfast here anytime we are in the area. They have a various savory breakfast items as well as sandwiches and sweet deserts. We had the egg and croissant sandwich, omelette with herbs and a couple of baked items. They were all very delicious. The omelette came with a mixed green salad and toast. Raisin danish was on point, just the right amount of sweetness. The croissant wasn't the best I ever had but still very good. Service was very efficient but I wish they were a little more friendlier especially the cashier. Perhaps it was because they were busy at the time. Plenty of tables outside and a few inside. Overall a nice ambience. Will definitely be back again on our next visit to the area.

Really adorable and delicious bakery and cafe! My partner and I went out for a drive and ended up here. He knows what nurtures my soul....sun and sweets! With that said...my mille fleur was delicious and the price point wasn't bad at all! His flan was enjoyable, but I prefer sweet over just about anything. Everything is baked fresh- you can tell. Staff was friendly and the line moves quickly even on a busy Saturday morning around 11am. There's indoor and outdoor seating. It's very casual. Order at the counter. They'll give you a table number. They bring it out. When we're in the area, you better believe I'm stopping by for another mille fleur!

Love this spot! Pastries, desserts and entrees are amazing, the coffee is delicious and authentic. Service is fantastic. The shop itself is super cute and has French and other gooodies for sale inside. Indoor and outdoor dining spaces.Enjoy your food there or drive to the Dana Point Harbor super close by(:

Great ambiance, food and service! I spend ~ 1 week per year in Paris for work and Moulin has all the menu items you'd look for in a cafe at European quality level you'd expect without the cigarette smoke...and much better service! Half chicken was great with fresh salad. Savory crepe reminded me of authentic order you'd have in Paris (not touristy). Espresso well pulled and flavorful. Will definitely become a regular here or at the other locations

This Moulin location at Dana Point was as beautiful as the city itself and we love that there is also a great selection of baked goods, sandwiches, salads, beverages like coffees and juices, home goods like the charming ceramic bowls straight from France and much more, and even French grocery items, here as well. The staff is very professional and full of positive energy. The tables outside are set in a picturesque environment with lots of flowers, some butterflies, and breathtaking views. A great asset to Dana Point!

Antoine and his entire staff are wonderful. Food is fresh and delicious- we frequent them often! Wish they had a loyalty program!

It's a small bakery and outdoor seating. The OJ was fresh squeezed and the iced latte was amazing. The croissant sandwich was good and comes with salad. The omelette was also good and the cheese they use is quality.

First time trying Moulin. I went on a Saturday morning with a friend. I ordered the egg with toast and an iced latte. The area is really nice. Inside the restaurant is a mini grocery store with niche European products. Things are a bit pricy, but considering the location, it's reasonable. Seating is mostly outside.

Great pastries and beautiful. Sandwiches and salads were already made and nothing special!

My favorite pastries and especially if you adore French Baked Goods! Best place! The location is right across Ritz Carlton and has an amazing ocean view! I like that you can park at Salt Creek Parking lot and just literally walk to Moulin. Definitely recommended!

What is unique to this Dana Point Moulin location, relative to the others? ;) It looks beautiful like all of the other locations~!!

    Same as Laguna :)

Is it open on dec 24?

I believe the Moulin locations are open everyday until 3pm (except South Coast Plaza), even on holidays! They are super impressive... and oftentimes lifesavers!

This time for my birthday, I thought we'd try a standard flavor cake since they should be making it on the regular. We got the lemon delight. It was super sweet. I couldn't eat any of the frosting and the frosting filling next to the lemon was very sweet. They also messed up my name. I remember my husband spelling out my name like the military nato style too but what was written on the order form was wrong. And then on the cake was wrong and didn't even match the order form. I know my name is difficult but I guess the decorator wasn't there so it was a difficult fix. They apologized and gave us candles. On a side note and not affecting this rating: We ate at the cafe side once and it was good. But we sat outside and had a bad experience unrelated to the cafe. Someone with their huge hairy dog was just outside the cafe and rubbing their long hair dog getting it into the air and the wind was blowing it all over our food and drinks and also in the nearby tables. Definitely killed the appetite. This is not affecting the rating. Rating is based solely on the cakes.

Most recently, they made a custom cake for my nephew, and my whole family absolutely loved it! It was beautiful, exactly what we were hoping for, and tasted just as good as it looked. The staff has always taken such great care of us and made us feel welcome. I especially love supporting family-owned small businesses, and this is the kind of place I'm happy to come back to. As an example, I have had some incredible meals here, where the food quality, food prep and presentation, were all stellar. So far so good, right? But I can go back with friends a week later and order the exact same dishes and they come out COMPLETELY different and horrible in every way. I've had inedible food served to me that should have never left the kitchen. Likewise, I can come one day and get good, friendly service and I can come the next day, stand in line for 30 minutes and get bad attitudes and total chaos. Unfortunately the latter seems more common. This is all disappointing, especially from a catering company. I would never hire them for catering because of this. You'd think they would have a recipe book and train anyone to cook and prepare dishes the proper way. Consistency is extremely important in the food service industry. You'd also think after all these years, they could solve their staffing and scheduling issues. The most common excuse I hear from the cafe staff is that they had a catering gig that day and all the staff are off doing that, leaving the cafe in chaos, where it seems like the dishwasher is doing the cooking. Finally, as MANY other customers have mentioned here, the ambience is utterly ruined by the LOUD obnoxious MUSIC playing on the outdoor speakers. This seems to be for the benefit of the staff and absolutely ruins what could be a very unique and peaceful courtyard patio setting. We can hardly have a conversation out there. Everyone I've brought here says the same thing. There's a reason restaurants offer indoor and outdoor seating. People who choose to sit outside want to talk and want a quieter atmosphere. Here's a solution: Play what you want INSIDE the cafe, in which case the open doors would allow music to waft outside a little, but PLEASE turn the outside speakers off, as they are completely unnecessary. If you insist on playing music outside, PLEASE get rid of the pounding nightclub music (which makes zero sense at 1PM) and please play something soft and jazzy AT A VERY LOW VOLUME. We are the locals. We are your regulars. Please listen to our concerns. You have the potential to be one of the best 5 star spots in this area, but for now it's 2.5 stars.

I mean do they pay them in donuts?! There's talk about JD Flannel and Oliboli in Tustin duking it out for top spot, but the gap has only widened today for me. No disrespect to Oliboli because they're very good, but these donuts are on another level (cheaper/better value too). I only go here yearly, but I need to change that.
