    Citrus-Teriyaki Chicken Bowl
    Cindy T.

WOW - I am so impressed with this place! This is in a food haul located in River Street Marketplace with many different little shops. The ingredients are fresh and the portions are excellent. I highly recommend for those folks who want a healthy yet hearty meal for lunch. FAVORITE ITEMS: - Citrus Teriyaki Chicken Bowl: so so flavorful. The ingredients are so fresh and filling. I personally loved the coconut rice for this though I tried both this and the oats. PARKING: I parked in a lot that was pay per hour nearby. PRICE: for around $15, you get such a filling bowl. Definitely a good deal in my opinion. Overall, I'm definitely so impressed with this place and I would recommend it to anyone!

    My Espresso-Rubbed Pork Bowl

Big Chipotle-style custom bowl guy here, and this place totally delivered. I ordered the pork with the espresso rub and built my bowl with all my favorites; sweet potatoes, pickled onions, cilantro, corn, that delicious black rice, plus a half-salad/half-rice base. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly healthy for how good it tasted. Yummy, satisfying, and absolutely worth a return trip.

Service was extremely good. I was disappointed that a lot of items were either out of stock or no longer being done anymore but were listed as options on the glass. I sadly didn't care for any of the sauces that came with the food. Many were spicy and l asked which was the least spicy with the sriracha aioli being suggested as one of the least spicy. I tried it. But wasn't a fan. Also had the dark brown one that didn't have any spicy ingredients that l can recall. But it also wasn't my cup of tea. I did like the edamame hummus. The flavor on the citrus chicken was notably amazing. The rest? Was not as memorable. Nor did l feel for almost $20 was this worth the price. The amount of items l got were small portions. Maybe 7ish bites of steak and chicken. Similar with the veggies. For the same concept l think Cava delivers a bit better. I also want to note that getting here was difficult for my gps. Also, you do have to pay to park. I think it was $2 even though l was just there to park and grab this bowl and drive off. The lot is gravel. Not a deal breaker but not ideal. Also, extremely difficult to find this place if you've never been before. There wasn't a directory once l started walking that l could find. I had to finally go into a few stores to ask a worker where it was. Apparently there is a food cafeteria. I didn't realize this and was disappointed with how difficult it all was and how limited my options were once l was there. This place is take out only because there is no place to sit within Nom. I believe there is seating in the food hall but l didn't venture in further to see for myself. I was on a time crunch to get home. Was it healthy? Yeah. Was it supremely tasty? No. Not unless you like spicy sauces or one brown one that l cant even remember if it was sweet or savory. Prob both really.

Friendly service and great food! Everything in the bowl is seasoned well and fresh, the sauces are nice but you really don't need them since everything is already flavorful. I got the steak and it was tender and very good!

Hidden Gem at River Street Marketplace - NOM is the Bomb! I was heading home from San Diego and looking for something good for lunch when I stumbled across the River Street Marketplace and a restaurant called NOM. I originally joked that "NOM is the bomb" -- and it turned out to be just as good as it sounds! It absolutely lived up to the hype. Their build-your-own bowls are fantastic -- everything is made fresh in-house daily, and you can taste the quality in every bite. The owner was a delight to chat with, clearly passionate about what they do. The restaurant hasn't been open long, but I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a healthy, flavorful lunch bowl. At first, I found myself wondering -- is this like Sweetgreen? Tender Greens? Maybe Cava? Nope -- it's none of the above, because it's way better. We tried a few different sauces: Kumquat Ponzu - packed with flavor. Citrus Teriyaki - light, gingery, and so good. The black rice was savory with a touch of sweetness. Between us, we got the Umami Steak Bowl and the Sambal Glazed Tofu Bowl -- both were excellent. If you're anywhere near the area, do yourself a favor and stop by NOM. You'll leave happy and full, and probably planning your next visit before you've even left the parking lot.

I'm completely obsessed with tofu, I've been trying to eat more protein so I was craving something like this and drove all the way here for a tofu bowl since I loved it so much last time. It ha so much flavor and I love the sides! Tatianna is so sweet and she made my bowl for me. They were giving out samples of orange chicken which is also healthy so I got some for the BF.

I spotted this restaurant as we were walking out of the Rodeo River Street Area and told my boyfriend, I have to try this next time. Not sure how I missed it before. Anywho, I loved the Vegan Bowl I got. The food is delicious and pretty. The attendant was helpful and friendly. Everything looks fresh and clean. I will definitely be coming back for more.

    Nice healthy option at rodeo

Wanted something healthy at the rodeo food hall and Nom looked like the best option. Like a chipotle style bowls with healthy grains and salads etc. Got a grains and lettuce bowl with marinated chicken. Got some good veggies that were cooked well. I did skip all the sauces to keep my calories down. Overall it was a good healthy option but did get a little pricey. If you add an egg or any extras the price tag will get pretty steep in my opinion

Fresh, Flavorful, and Healthy! I tried Nom in San Juan Capistrano at the new River Street Market and absolutely loved it! I got the tofu bowl, and since it's a build-your-own concept, I was able to customize it exactly how I wanted. Every topping had so much flavor, and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh and clean. The sriracha aioli was the perfect touch--not too spicy but packed with flavor, making the bowl even better. Service was fast and everyone was super friendly. My boyfriend tried it too and agreed it was delicious! It's rare to find a place where the food tastes amazing but also feels healthy to eat. I'll definitely be coming back! Not to mention this plaza has tons of cute shops and is located right in the center of downtown SJC and next to historic Los Rios street. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a fresh, flavorful, and satisfying meal in such a beautiful area!

This is a hidden gem! Located in the newer food court building near Los Rios in San Juan Capistrano, my teen and I were in search of something healthy, refreshingly and accommodating our dietary restrictions. Nom's food is absolutely delicious! It's bursting with flavors. I don't typically like pickled onions, so I'm not sure what they do with theirs, but they're fantastic! We both got bowls and I discovered that I can have ponzu sauce here as it's made with gluten free soy sauce (homemade here!). The owner is so friendly, and eager to learn (though she's already a wealth of knowledge) about individual dietary needs. I got the coffee rubbed pork, and my teen got the citrus chicken. The egg was fantastic too! We both felt great after eating. Enjoy!!

Wanted something healthy here and this spot interested me. Service was extremely generous and the server offered I try all three: green, black rice and oats without extra charge. She also recommended the espresso pork that was very unique and seasoned to perfection. The rest of the toppings were very fresh and complimented each other well. Total came out to $20 which is normal for a food market but I would still come again. The inside of this red Rodeo food market has a very community and barn vibe.

It's located inside the Rodeo River Street food hall. The food quality was excellent. I feel like both the greens and protein were very tasty. Jammy Egg was good. Decent overall portion size.

I'm not sure if it was because it was deep-fried or if it had skin on it, but either way I do not like deep fried or skin on chicken. I feel like the last time I had it with chicken, it was neither deep-fried or skin on. My preference is just chunks of chicken no skin. Overall, I would say it was a fantastic experience and a fabulous restaurant was fabulous service!

Being the foodie I am, of course I provided restaurant recommendations, so I advised our Queen that we should eat breakfast at the social media viral Breezy. I had Breezy on my Yelp Want To Go list and I'm glad my Pahtner greenlit my restaurant rec. Believe the hype folks, Breezy is a must eat spot because of their gastronomically delish grub, the cool and hip ambience, and spectacular customer service from the young Filipina. Order their adobo breakfast burrito, banana pancake, and the "Kali" latte. You're welcome!!! Breezy is located in San Capistrano, CA., approximately less than an hour drive from North County San Diego. The restaurant can be found within the Los Rios Historic District specifically on the corner of Camino Capistrano and Verdugo Street. It's one of the businesses within the Capistrano Plaza. If you want to be adventurous, take the Amtrak to the San Juan Capo stop and you can easily walk to the restaurant as well as other fun spots. We drove to Breezy and were able to park in a Public Parking lot behind the restaurant, which was only $4 for two hours. Breezy doesn't take reservations, so I recommend you do what we did and arrive when they open at 8am or close to to opening. It's a popular eatery and you'll have to wait if you visit during peak dining hours. There is a good amount of outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating with round wooden and square tables and rattan seats. There's also bartop seating where you can watch their baristas make their specialty coffees. The owners did an amazing job with a beautiful interior decor with a focal point mural of lady with a Hawaiian flower in her hair, a green backdrop with neon "Keep It Breezy" accent lighting, pink glassware and centerpieces, and decorative light fixtures to add to the ambience. The young Filipina provided quality customer service, was friendly, and had the welcoming Aloha spirit. Please keep in mind that Breezy is a popular Filipino and Hawaiian fusion restaurant as I've seen the restaurant reviewed by Youtube, Facebook, and Instagram foodies, which is how I was introduced to this spot. Be prepared to wait if you come after opening or during peak dining hours. I can assure you that if you do end up waiting for a table, it is well worth the wait to feast on some amazing food. The hype is most definitely real. For my breakfast meal, I ordered the Adobo Breakfast Burrito, one Banana Pancake, a hot "Kali" Latte to wash it down, and I got to taste the birthday girl's Ube French Toast. The adobo breakfast burrito comes with shredded pork adobo, scrambled eggs, garlic rice, cotija cheese, avocado, sour cream, salsa verde, and cilantro. The burrito is one of their popular items and from my first bite to my last, I wholeheartedly concur. Everything about that burrito was fresh from the tortilla to all of its components. The taste of the vinegar that I'm accustomed to from classic adobo is evident, this entree is packed with deliciousness, it's creamy, and it was so satisfying. You can order a single pancake instead of the stack, so I'm glad I got to experience their banana pancake, which is generously topped with butter, comes with fresh bananas, it's served with a side of whipped cream, and topped with macadamia nuts. The taste of banana is readily apparent, it's a large pancake, and combined with the syrup, I savored every morsel. Mimick my order and I know you won't be disappointed. I really enjoyed the taste of the Kali latte, which comes with coconut cream, condensed milk, macadamia milk, and topped with toasted coconut. My wife couldn't finish her ube french toast, so I got to eat her leftover and this also is a popular item, which from that first bite, I can understand why. Despite me eating after some time from when my wife got it, the french toast was still crunchy, the caramelized bananas, ube whipped cream, toasted coconut flakes, coconut crema, and mixed berries were all divine and yummy. I'm not an ube fan, but I am a fan of Breezy's ube french toast. Thanks and Praise God for allowing my Life Pahtner to celebrate another year on this world. Dining at Breezy's made for a great time of amazing food, memorable drinks, and stellar customer service to celebrate the Queen we love.

Anyways, the food was absolutely delicious and worth the trek out to the southern part of OC (coming from north OC). What we got: - Honey basil ribeye bowl - wow I dream of this sometimes. They balanced the sweet and savory flavor so well, and the little side "salad" with the tomatoes and pickled onions offered a nice tangy kick. Such a delicious bowl that has many of the flavor profiles I love. Don't get me started on the garlic rice! - Longanisa breakfast bowl - the longanisa was cooked well and had a good savory sweet flavor, but was a bit more on the fatty side. It had the same sides and garlic rice as the honey basil ribeye bowl, which I already raved about so nothing to add there. I'm so excited that they have a smaller spot at Rodeo 39 in Stanton called Lil Breezy! Much closer to home and definitely a place that we would like to try soon.
