This place is so welcoming, encouraging and result driven. They truly care about each person they work with and the detail and attention that goes into young athletes is amazing to see. We watched our daughter become stronger and more self confident because of this place and the staff. We moved out of state recently and the one big thing our daughter "wished she could take with her" was Next Level. After we moved my husband contacted Joe Aratari asking him for advice about gyms here in NC. He actually took the time to do research about gyms here that were most similar to Next Level. I have been going for six months and I feel 5X stronger and the hip & knee pain that I've had for 25 years (and for which I've done my share of PT) has almost completely resolved. The monthly cost for group classes is right, given that if they were located in a big city they could probably charge that much for a single personal training session with kettlebells. The classes themselves are personalized as much as possible--I've been in classes with 20+ year-old guys trying to get jacked and 60+ year-old women working to regain their mobility--Kerry deftly manages to make sure we all get what we need. Morning classes tend to be older students; evening classes tend to be younger but I've not felt out of place in either (well, I once tried one of their kick boxing classes but that is NOT my thing! My fellow students seemed to enjoy it though). Kerry & Greg are certified through Strong First which is apparently a big deal. I commute about 15 minutes 2-3 times a week to get there (not something I've been wont to do in my life). I'm especially glad to be able to support a high-quality, local, and family-owned business rather than a big fitness chain.

At first we just thought it was a gym where we could go get a workout in, but it's a lot more. Yes, there's a gym with all the dumbbells and kettlebells you want, a couple of benches, a couple of barbells, resistance bands, a conventional sauna, a couple of machines, and room to work (everything I need to workout except maybe a pull-up bar and a place to do dips). However, on the other side of the front desk (easy check-in, some merch, and a few products like LMNT), it's like a well-appointed, DIY spa. They have several different private rooms, all equipped with infrared saunas, and some with matching cold plunge tubs for contrast therapy. I love it. Everything is clean and beautiful and well laid out. We were pleasantly surprised with how comfortable and relaxing it all was, with great little touches (great lighting, a picture of penguins enjoying a cold plunge above the tub). Vinny was personable, and happy to show us how to work the saunas (very intuitive). It's super easy to figure it all out, and my wife and I had a great time in the room with the larger sauna that we could both fit in. Even though my body was screaming at me to get out of the cold plunge (had to be in the 40s) immediately, I stayed for three minutes each time and felt amazing afterward. It's also worth mentioning that the music here is GREAT. A playlist that I could've put together myself. We'll be coming back. Maybe tomorrow.

I love the privacy between the different spaces, and you can read and watch a show while you relax. Though your phone will overheat, so I recommend just bringing a book or hooking up the bluetooth and relaxing to some music. Love coming here and I am curious about the gym and the other areas. You're able to book a day pass via classpass as well, so that should be interesting. Looking forward to coming back and feeling lucky a recovery spot is so close to me.

Let me preface by saying this review is based on my experience with the 5 training sessions…read morerequired prior to starting the group training option. First, to start off the experience, I visited the Kinetix website and requested more information. Within 24 hrs a return email was sent and I had an appointment with one of the coaches, Zach. Zach was friendly, he showed me around the gym, and explained options. I did not feel pressured during the interaction. The gym is new and beautiful. The locker room is pristine and the member lounge has the perfect mid-century modern aesthetic. The 5 personal training sessions required prior to starting group classes didn't seem like it would be "enough" and to be fair, a lot of the movements I knew. With that said, the sessions were useful to acclimate me to the gym. And the sessions were also for the coach to ensure I could perform movements safely, which I appreciate. I was disappointed that I was not taught various Olympic lifts (my sister mentioned these were included in the "on-ramp" classes at her CrossFit gym). I mentioned my concern to Zach and he reassured me I would be taught various moves during the classes. Overall, I am pleased with my experience thus far and will update this review as I have more to say. To also note, Kinetix used to be called "CrossFit boomtown" though I am told the owners disassociated themselves from the CrossFit title as there are limitations when trying to grow their business and open additional locations.

Though it's always a hard workout, the workouts are scaled for your level. That being said, no matter where you are and how much you scale it, you'll be wishing you were dead half way through every workout. Yet somehow you always come back for more pain. It's great. The only reason I stopped going was the price; it's expensive. The owner did give me a discount for being a college student though which was really nice.
