Walking in, I was digging the cute décor and open space and it was super clean. The menu is posted on the wall and has quirky pie names like "Killer Tofu" and "The Meatsiah." We started the meal off with a Pizza salad. YES. PIZZA. SALAD. All your favorite pizza toppings with pizza flavored croutons. Pizza is in my 5 major food groups. So throw it on some green stuff and we're talking healthy here! And can I rave about the ranch dressing? I had to have extra to take home. Thank me later. I decided to order a large "I love Pep Pep" which was loaded with cheese and pepperoni and The "Just Another Supreme" which was topped with pepperoni, Italian sausage, green peppers, onion, mushroom and cheese. First let me say the crust is amazing. It's light and airy but baked with a perfect crunch on the edges. The slices are huge, like New York style pizza, but not overly greasy. I could have eaten the whole pizza by myself. If you're one of those people like me who like to dip your pizza in ranch (yes I really said that) then queue in the extra dressing from the pizza salad! The staff is warm and friendly. I enjoyed that there were trivia cards on the table as we waited for our pizza to arrive. We enjoyed chatting with the owners and have returned here a few times for carry out. I love that it's locally owned, fresh ingredients, great pizza and great prices. Major Tomato has some really inventive pizzas, a relaxed dining area and friendly employees. I'm a major (get it!) fan of their I Love Pep Pep pizza! If you're a pepperoni lover, this is a must-try. My husband digs their veggie pizza with its fresh ingredients. They have a nice, thin-crust pizza that even passes the cold pizza test the next day. We haven't tried anything else on the menu, but they also offer hot dogs and burgz. Prices are decent for the quality ingredients. Wait times aren't bad at all. The music can be a little hipster/weird for me, but that's a small gripe. I also wish they had fountain pop; they only have fancy bottled varieties. Want to switch up your pizza routine? This place combines some of my two favorite things: Pizza... and TRIVIA! I screamed a little when I saw the trivia cards on each table. Such a cute idea to make the wait a little easier. I've had my fair share of different pizza places that offer vegan cheese and Major Tomato is now on my top three. The pizza is thin, airy, and crunchy. It is far from tasteless despite lacking thickness. They offer build your own pizzas in different sizes. I got a standard 10 inch BYO pizza. Each topping is $1 extra, which is also pretty standard. My partner grabbed the veggie calzone. He said it was one of the best non-homemade calzones he's ever had. This was impressive, considering he's obsessed with making calzones at home... I mean on an every other day basis. So that's a huge compliment to Major Tomato! I do think it was a bit steep in prices, but worth while. It's definitely a nice little place in "Downtown" Allen Park. The interior has a nice open seating with lots of fresh plants everywhere. There's also cool vintage posters hung up. The best pizza you will find Downriver by far. Major tomato pizza is like New York style pizza(thin crust). This is a frequent lunch spot for me and my co-workers just wished that they were open on Mondays. Not sure if its a downriver thing but a lot of places are closed on Mondays which sucks. The menu is pretty vast and literally they have the pizza for u. Pizzas from a baked potato on them to having a egg on it. The pizza i normally get is the vampire slayer. On it there is steak blue cheese onion and balsamic dressing drizzle on it. Definitely worth a try. Also the BBQ chicken pizza I just had from here recently was amazing. I usually hate chicken pizza so that is saying a lot. For pizza places I always rate them by how there ranch is as well; weird I know but it's necessary. Major tomato's definitely docent disappoint. The environment is very casual with cool art on the walls. Never actually at inside,but when Im picking up my order I'm always looking around in there. Last time I was inside I noticed that they sell t-shirts which I thought was cool. I would like to see some hats tho I would of bought a hat on the spot. Parking is always a complaint I have with most places and major tomato falls in this category as well. I won't just all out say parking is bad but this places busy location in Downtown Allen Park doesn't make it ideal. There are spaces in the front but not many. Also the parking spaces are angled so beware leaving from here because you will be backing up into traffic FYI. SHOCKINGLY AWEFUL! I tried this place on a recommendation. They told me the pizza would be ready in 35 minutes for pickup. It was actually 65 minutes. I asked for extra cheese and even tipped. The pizza was thin, no cheese, burnt, and gross. I love, love pizza. I have eleven tossed pizza in the trash. But after a few bites with my friends we threw it away. I think I'd give this place a 4.5 because this pizza isn't my absolute favorite (I'm not a huge fan of thin pizza + Sportsmans in wyandotte is my absolute fave), but I'll bump it up to a 5 because their commitment to non-gmo ingredients and avoiding certain additives as well as saying no to minimum wage. How awesome is that?! Seriously! We need to give them a round of applause. That's legit and hard to pull off! Plus this place is so cute! What a pleasant surprise to find a Pizza place that uses real cheese, sauce that's not full of MSG, and many other fresh ingredients. We got a half fancy cheese dealio and half meatstravaganza. Both were pretty good but I preferred the meat side more. The crust was really crispy, it was probably the crispiest crust I have ever had that wasn't accomplished by burning the shit out of it. My only regret is that I didn't try Major Tomato sooner, I've been missing out!!!! I had the Major Tomato pizza , my better half had the pepperoni pizza and we split an order of bread sticks. We dined in and we didn't wait long at all for our order. The food was delicious, fresh and piping hot! The pizza reminded me of the style I get when traveling out East, but had a better flavor. Gave the Pucks soda a try and I fell in love with the vanilla creame. We ordered 10" pizzas and I had leftovers, they were even great the next morning! So far this is one of the best pies I've had in the area. I am a little bit of a pizza snob though, so it's gonna be tough to get a 5th star from me... especially with no beer (or wine) to wash it down with. With that out of the way, I can say that the crust is pretty good: thin (could be a little thinner) and the right mix of soft and crunchy. The sauce is very tomato-y (i.e., tastes very fresh), and the toppings are tasty and in the right amount. The salads leave a little to be desired. I hate that they come in a plastic container with the dressing on the side. I like when a salad is tossed with the dressing so that you can have the dressing evenly mixed. Plus, you cannot get the salad out of those plastic tins w/o spilling it all over the place. Sure, those plastic things are good for "to-go" orders when I can throw it in a bigger bowl, but not good for sitting in. There's parking on the street that can be hit or miss. I got carry out from Major Tomato a couple of weeks ago with my boyfriend for our first #IndulgenceDateNight and it was delicious. The first point I want to make is that they do half and half of their specialty pizzas of any size including small. So we got two smalls: one half major potato with broccoli, potato, cheddar cheese and white sauce & one half: choked up that has artichoke, spinach, feta and roasted red pepper. The other small was half the aloha with pineapple, ham, bacon, BBQ sauce and red sauce and the other half was just another supreme which has pepperoni, Italian sausage, green pepper, onion and mushroom. We also ordered a major cheese bread with butter, Parmesan, Romano, mozzarella, feta and smoked Gouda. Everything was delicious. I'm a small girl with a large appetite and we could of ordered a third small pizza. But we finished everything. My favorite was the Aloha. And the cheese bread. The ranch was the best ranch I have ever had in my life and contained pieces of dill. It tasted like a dill dip that would have for veggies. FANTASTIC. My only note I would make is that the crust is very crunchy and ripped up the roof of my mouth a little bit, so be prepared. This could also have been because we got it carry out and it might have toughened up a bit. The total was under $30 with tip and tax. Not bad for all of the specialty pizzas! Enjoy! read more

This place was great when I first went. Fresh, organic ingredients. Crisp, clean environment, friendly service, plenty of free parking. But alas, like any first love, it wasn't meant to be. I'm glad to know that there's a healthy pizza option even if it is a bit overpriced. Salads are $7. They serve cane sugared sodas, grass fed burgers ($6) and organic hot dogs ($3.75). They don't have side dishes which is a bit weird. I think sweet potato fries or sauteed kale would go a long way. But I came for the pizza. Pepperoni costs the same as a Supreme ($9, $13 or $17). I loved the Pep which consists of pepperoni, pepperoni and more pepperoni on a thin, crispy crust. The Supreme on the other hand, was unremarkable. The ingredients were right: pepperoni, Italian sausage, green pepper, mushroom, hold the onions. But the taste was off-balance. There wasn't enough cheese or sauce. And it did not re-heat well. Everything wilted and the crust became a bit chewy (think Red Baron from the Kroger aisle). I think it was just an off-night. I gave it four stars cause it was really good the first time.
