I had Brandon change inner and outer tie rods and had to bring it to Firestone for the alignment. Brandon had screwed up the torque and didn't use Loctite when installed. The rods had loosened. When Firestone opened it up it turns out one of the inner tie rods had not been changed! Brandon said it was a defective part and the coating had rusted out. (Highly unlikely.) He changed the part "under warranty" and I STUPIDLY had them change brake pads and rotors and flush the brake fluid. Going down a big hill the brakes didn't work properly and I went right into an intersection and nearly got creamed by a truck. HOLY SH*T! Furious I called Brandon and they bled the brakes. They hadn't gotten all the air out. But ZERO apology for almost causing my death. His promised to refund me the brake fluid flush over the phone and reneged in person. I had to threaten small claims court and he relented. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

I went down there at 9am after driving all the way from Clifton Park and he said he couldnt do it for 2 more hrs. I brought my 2010 Mini Cooper to Firestone Troy after the A/C suddenly stopped working and started blowing hot. I'd tried recharging it myself but got an overpressure reading, so I booked the soonest appointment I could. The staff were friendly and suggested adding dye during the recharge to check for leaks, which seemed reasonable. A few hours later, they let me know the compressor wasn't working and offered to run further diagnostics for an added cost. What caught me off guard was that they'd already completed the full evacuate and recharge -- even though the compressor wasn't engaging. I was told it had been necessary to identify the problem, but later realized that wasn't accurate. In the end, I paid $341 and left with no resolution. If the story ended there, this might have been a 1- or 2-star review -- so I encourage anyone who's had a less-than-ideal experience to follow up. In my case, given the chance, they absolutely made it right. I reached out to Firestone's corporate office via their website to share what happened. Since the service included a performance check, I felt the compressor issue should have been caught before moving forward with the recharge. Fortunately, my message was passed along to the right people, and TJ, the store manager in Troy, reached out to me directly. After I explained that I'd eventually traced the issue to a blown fuse, he gave it some thought and agreed a full refund made sense. I stopped by the shop later that day, and he credited my card on the spot. He also mentioned that he'd used the experience as a training opportunity for his team, which I really appreciated. Things don't always go perfectly -- but how a business responds matters. Thanks to Firestone corporate looping back to the branch, and TJ's professionalism and willingness to make it right, I left feeling heard and respected. I'd absolutely return and now feel good recommending Firestone Troy to others.

Picked it up on a Tuesday, and by Thursday I had the exact same issue, which then caused the engine to overheat. I had to take it back to get it fixed AGAIN. They tried to tell me it is normal for a large repair to have issues, which is a way to gaslight me, when they should have fixed it right the first time. I have been to this location before. Once it took over 3 hours to get a simple oil change, which I had an appointment for. When I complained about them taking so long for something I could have done in 30 minutes somewhere else, they then tried to upsell me with major repairs, that I didn't need or have done. My partner took their car there for an oil change appointment and was told that they didn't have time that day, although they had an appointment, and seemed surprised they couldn't leave it overnight for a 30 minute procedure. If they didn't have time, they should have called before the scheduled appointment to see if it needed to be rescheduled. I have felt that they talk down to me, as I appear female, and have issues that my partner has not had. They are sexist and act like I know nothing about my car and think that I will just buy anything they suggest.

It was time for a NYS inspection and an oil change, so despite the fact that Keeler Honda was closer, I opted to take the car to Rensselaer Honda. On the phone, they were very pleasant and welcoming, giving me a choice of appt times despite the end-of-year rush that hits service departments. They texted me twice on different days to make sure I was still planning on making the appt. It was simple to confirm both times. Arriving there, we drove right into the service garage and dropped off the car and keys. Jeanette was friendly and efficient, listing the oil change and NYS inspection as the items to be done. I signed off and my husband and I went to the waiting area, from where we could clearly see the garage area. There was a nice child area room, a separate quiet room and a coffee machine that provided quite a selection of beverages. Bottled water and snacks were also available. We sat in the open area near the large screen TV and simulated fireplaceA little over an hour later, the car was done for a total of $70.08. They did not try to price gouge me or search for "something" they could make money off of. Nice job, pleasant and quiet waiting area where you aren't in the middle of the showroom floor ( like Keeler Honda), and they will certainly get my return business. Update - 11/12/2019 The battery to my husband's 2016 Accord died suddenly this afternoon, so I tried to book an appt early tomorrow morning to get the battery replaced. No dice. In fact no early morning appts all week. No attempt to squeeze us in, which I find very disappointing. As a result, we had to go to Keeler Honda, because they made room for us Sorry, Rensselaer Honda, but if you want the business of any Albany driver, you need to make the room in your schedule for times when emergencies pop up.

We test drove a 2108 Honda Pilot, after discussion with the sales rep we decided to move forward. After signing paperwork and leaving a deposit, he told us they did not the title for the vehicle due to an improper signature and that it should be there Monday, possibly Wednesday the latest. Needless to say the title never came. After two and a half weeks of waiting a less money in our pockets, we asked the dealership to provide us with some kind of compensation to keep us a float. Balancing a family on one car, with the expectation and verbal reassurance that this car would be in our driveway any day now- they agreed to give us a rental as we await the title. A week went by, more dates were promised, a tracking number was provided and the title never came. After a month waiting and a week with the rental the sales manager insisted we bring the rental back- because at this point we were an inconvenience and an expense. I would never recommend doing business with these people. They held onto us long enough to try and make a sale- and when they realized this title was not coming anytime soon after a month without a vehicle they decided to push us out. They lied to us over and over about the titles tracking and whereabouts, the previous owners involvement and the prior interested buyer who we later found out also pulled out after over a month waiting. Mike Smith is the biggest con artist out there and I wouldn't give him one penny off the ground if I found it :-) I would never recommend this dealership, and I suggest you stay clear of the headache. Invest your money literally anywhere else.
