Of course was skeptical since price so much lower than other area hotels on beach. I got here at 8:30pm and hotel clerk met me at parking lot to assist with tight parking! Very pleasant reception! Was wearing mask properly and had basically touch free check in except he handled my credit cards. Parking, only one vehicle per room but he directed where I could park across the street with another vehicle. Walking across the street not too bad! Daughter got in late but there was one more parking spot for her! Felt pretty safe walking around late and went to beach to watch the rocket launch at 02:30am. Rooms are older but it was clean! Beds very comfortable! The AC unit did a nice job cooling off the room! Pool and patio area very clean! There's a gate to go out onto beach and to return but the gate wasn't locked. There's supposed to be a code but it wasn't needed since it wasn't locked. Check out very easy. And again, hotel desk clerk very pleasant! I would stay here again! Thank you read more

We were in room 113 and could have given this quaint place a 4 or 5 if it weren't for the roaches (my husband killed five big ones) and an air conditioner that barely worked. Pros-$79 a night, right on the beach, perfect for surfing (we wanted to walk our board right out onto the sand), clean room, friendly front desk staff. Cons-Bed like a trampoline, King bed offered 3 pillows for 2 guests, room smelled terribly of mildew ( I did not see any mold anywhere and I know this can happen being that it is directly on the beach). I will have to update this review in the future as I have slept poorly however we are staying one more night. :-) read more

Please understand upfront that this isn't an upscale or posh hotel. It's a simple family style and family owned hotel. Everything was extremely clean. The young man at the front desk was as kind and polite as you could hope for. He was very helpful and also came out to help direct me into a tight parking spot later in the evening when I returned from dinner since they are limited in car parking spaces. My highest concern is usually making sure that I get a non-smoking room. My room was clean and free of any odor. I will definitely contact them when I am back in this area. While the furniture was outdated, the important things (like bathroom amenities) were new and of good quality. P.S. A friend of mine was staying just down the road a short distance and wasn't nearly as happy with his accomodations and was paying the same price. read more

What an awesome place! I wanted to spend a night with my husband somewhere on the beach. What initially made me pick this place was the price. I found a great deal online that I just couldn't pass up. This is a small family owned motel that is right on the beach. The owner was extremely generous to my husband and me. We knew the day we were going to check in it was suppose to rain that afternoon. We got the motel hours before check in hoping to get a couple hours in before the rain started. When we went to the front desk to ask if we could leave our car and use the amenities until our room was ready, the owner told us to give him an hour and he will make sure our room was ready. We were able to check in over 3 hours early! The motel is located directly on the beach. There is also a nice pool that overlooks the ocean. The rooms here are very nice. You can tell they have been recently renovated. I appreciate the tile instead of nasty hotel carpet. I also liked the many little details in the room. They provide you with many hooks in the bathroom. Seeing that most people come in off the beach with bathing suits and towels, it was very helpful having somewhere to hang up these items. Also, there is a welcome mat at the door. Helpful to have somewhere to get the sand off your feet. The room came with a fridge and microwave too. The beds I believe were newer and comfy. The generosity continued to check out. The day we were to checkout it was of course beautiful. We weren't ready to leave at the check out time of 11, so we asked if we could possibly stay a little later. The owner once again told us that wouldn't be a problem. This is a lovely, family-owned, no-frills inn. Can't beat the price for a spot on the beach with a microwave and a mini fridge - plus no resort fees. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly and accommodating. There was a slight plumbing issue caused by another guest at the hotel and the owner moved us into another room immediately. There are limited oceanfront rooms, but there's not really a bad spot on the property - you're literally sleeping 15 yards max from the water regardless of whether you're in an oceanfront room. The pool deck has a great view of the water, plus another deck with tables and plenty of space to watch the sunrise. Beds were very comfy. Air conditioning units worked well. Bathrooms were cleaned properly. The beach was not crowded at all since the property only accommodates ~35 families at a time (as opposed to the high rises with 100+ rooms). Again, this is a no-frills property, but it's an affordable, clean, and convenient beachfront option -- particularly for long weekends or stays for small families. Will definitely return! read more

We booked for the one night and ended up staying one more night just because of the staff up front. Its in a perfect spot on the beach, just mins from the pier, lots of places to walk to for food etc. Pool was very clean and not overly chlorinated but not heated, no hot tubs sadly. My wife and I were invited to our daughter's in-laws' house for Thanksgiving and we needed a room to stay at nearby. The place we normally stay at had raised their rates sky high so based on the reviews here at TripAdvisor, and other sites, we booked two nights at the OceanFront Inn and Suites through Expedia. Our prime criteria for an overnight stay is clean. The room doesn't have to be fancy or have a great deal of amenities, but it needs to be clean. We were given room 206 which is listed as "City View". What that actually means is that it is not "Ocean View". This old motel sits sideways to the beach, with most of the rooms facing each other. On one side it has eight ocean view rooms with four over four. If you want an ocean view room, request one of the second floor rooms as the lower ones open directly onto a terrace and the view is partially blocked. There are two ocean view rooms on the other side of the property but without balconies. Our room was a good size for an old property and I have to say right here, it was very clean. The motel was totally redone about two years ago and they did a very nice job. We got a room with two double beds. I did my typical inspection and there were no bed bugs. The mattresses were comfy and just firm enough but not rock hard. The room remodel was really well done and you feel like you are in a new property. The floors were nice looking large tile which makes sense with beach sand. The bathroom was spacious enough for one person at a time. For some reason we got the handicap room so there was no tub, only a low edged shower with all the handgrips. That was fine for us. Because this is a vintage motel, there was no way to expand the room size during the remodel. So for more than four people, you will feel pinched compared to the newer large hotel rooms. But we had plenty of room for the two of us. Here are more details about the room and property. The large picture window is tinted nicely so it won't heat the room up in the summer and also makes it very hard for people outside to look in during the day. We liked this a lot which made it so we didn't have to keep the room darkening curtain closed all the time. That curtain does darken the room a lot at night, but because of the outside sconces, the space around the curtain does let in a lot of light. Being an older property, the window has a deep ledge so I was able to push the heavy curtain in and weigh it down with shoes and this made the room very dark. If you plan on sleeping in, this will be a must as the sun fills the room with light very early on. Our room came with an iron, ironing board, a somewhat loud air conditioner with limited adjustable vents, a small open coat rack, a small very worn table with two chairs, a coffee maker, large mini fridge, microwave oven, and an armoire with drawers which also houses the flat screen television. One of our complaints is that the cable service only has a dozen or so channels and half of those were very grainy. This needs to be fixed and the number of channels expanded. We also found the WiFi intermittent and would drop our phones connections on occasion. The property is directly on the beach which is very wide at Ormond. During the summer, this is where you want to be. And Ormond is far enough away from Daytona to keep noise and beach traffic down as you can drive directly on the beach here for a fee. The motel has ample outdoor tables and chairs, some with tropical style sun shades and a large, well maintained swimming pool. Parking is free but limited to one vehicle per room. This motel has a minimal continental breakfast which consists of muffins and coffee and no place to eat them so you'll have to take everything back to your room or eat around the pool. There is an IHOP just north which was also recently redone and we ate there and was very good. The young lady that checked us in was extremely nice and helpful. We also met the manager who was also extremely nice and helpful when we needed some more coffee for the brewer in the room. And our housekeeper was very sweet and got us extra towels when asked and also talked with us when we saw her later. Our impression with the friendliness of the staff is very favorable. Over all, we were very pleased with this mom and pop style older but nicely remodeled property. The rooms were nicely redone and very clean and had the amenities we were looking for. The room price was comparable to others nearby though I think they are all too high. The location is great, close enough to Daytona but not in the middle of all the party goers. You're right on the wide, clean beach and if you aren't an ocean swimmer, this property has a nice and well maintained pool. Be advised, this is not a resort or four star hotel. But if you are just looking for a clean place to sleep while spending most of your time exploring or sunbathing on the beach, consider trying the OceanFront Inns and Suites of Ormond Beach. read more

My husband and I attended a friends wedding in Ormond Beach and we stayed there while we visited. This a basic hotel , but it was clean and comfortable. The price was fantastic! And it has beach access! It had a nice pool and deck area overlooking the beach. They made a beautiful garden on the hillside by the lounge chairs above the beach. There is a hose for washing feet after the beach stairs. The room was big and had 2 burners, micro, fridge, coffee maker. Sink was in the bedroom side. nice shower and toilet in the bathroom. Breakfast was a small assortment of prepackaged sweets, instant oatmeal, and apples. BUT remember the price and the beach! I would stay again. read more

We picked this motel because of all the great reviews it got and we couldn't have been more pleased. It is a quaint mom and pop place. Great for families or couples. Very clean inside and out. Good size pool and patio area. There was also a gas grill if you wanted to cook out. The beds were comfy although it would have been nice to also have a blanket instead of just a thick comforter. The owners were nice. They let us check in early which was great because our kids were ready to hit the pool and the beach. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back! read more

Nice common areas, a nice pool, and nice newly remodeled rooms. Parking could be a slight issue if they are completely sold out, but it was great for us. Pool and deck area with tables and patio chairs facing the Beach. Safe and secure. We had a small balcony with chairs and a tables on our ocean front room. A bonus find on our road trip up the Atlantic coast and we will return right here. This is a small, family-owned and operated beachfront hotel which is maintained in a quaint, old-Florida style. They actually CARE about their guests and go out of their way to ensure everything is immaculate and perfect. The pool area was spotless, room was clean, bed comfortable and everything operated perfectly. Believe every room has a coffeepot, microwave and small refrigerator. The "limited continental breakfast" consists of freshly brewed coffee, bananas and an assortment of danish. There are numerous breakfast locations nearby if this is of serious concern. Rooms down front with balcony to the deck are blocked a bit by trees to the ocean view so don't pay more for them. The seating that looks out on to the water was plentiful and comfortable. It doesn't help when some of the other patrons seem to have a hard time parking their vehicles between the white lines but oh well. Is it clean? Yes! Watch out for the management as they have seriously bad attitudes. My wife and I asked to see the room and she sat down on the corner of the bed without thinking. One of the managers (Owner I think) went off on her even though she immediately apologized. He never stopped yelling at her about how they would now have to clean the room, change the linens etc.. We walked out to view the beach for a few minutes and as we returned to our car the maid (obviously another owner or family member) was walking towards the room we visited with a can of Fa-breeze. She glared and sneered at us the entire time she walked to the room. We decided to wait a few minutes to see what they were really going to do to the room and she exited about two minutes later - can in hand and returned to the office. What a stupid scene that was for a spray of air freshener. Horrid customer service and attitudes!!!! Due to the hostility we encountered we canceled our reservation through the booking agency even though it cost us a night's stay. Good luck finding a clean place to stay in the Daytona area with helpful staff focused on pleasing customers!!! Drive a few miles north to Flagler Beach and stay at the "Island Cottage Oceanfront Inn and Spa." Clean and great customer service. read more

Such a pleasant surprise.. I picked this place for an overnight stay at the beach based on reviews and didn't regret it... Better than some of the big chain hotels that I've been to.. Cleanliness (the most important thing for me) is 5 out if 5! I just wished that all oceanfront rooms have balconies (mine didn't, those rooms were fully booked..:( or at least the window could be opened to let the fresh breeze in.. I don't understand the good reviews here. We stayed at the Ocean whatever for one night. We checked in late and even though the gentleman at the front desk was sleepy and wearing his pjs he was pretty ok with us waking him up. We made it to the room on the 1st floor and as soon as we opened the door we got hit by the horrible musty smell! Is was awful! We thought about going back and ask for a different room but since we already woke up the front desk man we didn't want to interrupt his sleep again and decided we could live with the smell for the next 8 hours. I had to stand up holding the front door for several minutes to see if that would help but of course it didn't. The room and bathroom were pretty clean buy very small. At 9am we were woken up by the noise of what we thought it was a trimmer machine and I thought to myself "this can't be it". I opened the door and took a pick to see what was going on and voila there was a guy with a noisy air blower walking around the parking lot and the question is blowing what? There are no trees around or anything like it! We called the front desk to let them know about the noise and the Indian guy at the front desk said "Well is 9am and we clean the parking area at this time, that's the way it is" NOT EVEN an I'M SORRY SIR!". I think they do it on purpose to make sure people get up and checkout at 11am. Lately we've been trying to get off the upscale hotels and try to stay at local family businesses. This is the 2 time we've tried and let me tell you, I wouldn't experiment with this ever again! I'm staying at the Hilton, Marriott whatever it is but my rest and inner peace is worth the money! Rude people and smelly rooms are not an excuse unless you are staying in a shack so don't be fooled by this is not an upscale hotel! We paid $100 for Christ sake! Check the Hilton is only $10 more! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone not even if the rate goes down to $50! read more

You get what you pay for. Booked this hotel based upon the good reviews it got and the on line pictures. Well, it's not exactly what is pictured on the web site. Pros: The staff is generally friendly, it's on the beach and the place was clean. Cons: The rooms are small with more furniture than is needed, or can actually be used; the parking lot is small, so in a full house situation you can find yourself across the road and down a block walking to the hotel; there is no vanity in the tiny bathroom, so you need to put the toilet cover down and use that as a shelf; you could connect to the wireless access point for the hotel, but the internet did not actually work; the water pressure in the shower did not provide much of a shower at all; there were a few tables with umbrellas in the pool area, but not many. Overall, rooms were small and crowded, but clean and you can walk to the beach. It is a no frills basic hotel. read more
