These people are great! I have lived in the same apartment my whole life and never used a moving service before so I was honestly a bit nervous and unsure of how this would work. I needed a HUGE (120 gallon) aquarium moved from my backyard to my forth floor walk up and into the far room. I had seen my neighbor recently have a couch moved so I asked her who did it and she highly recommended this company. Besides the fact that the tank was heavy and fragile, being in NYC, there wasn't a ton of room to move around. Not only did Chuck, Abraham, Nidal, & Ralph do a fantastic job moving this in but they were also so friendly, professional, and extremely nice. I was very nervous about the whole thing and am honestly alway nervous about having strangers in my apartment for any reason and they made me feel totally at ease. I also noticed that they had great communication when moving the tank and really supported each other and cheered each other on when they did a good job - which I thought was really nice! Chuck and his team were instrumental in getting us in our new place and out of our old one super fast. Literally, the night before we were to move, Chuck found people quickly and lined up two moves for us. The people Chuck hires are thoughtful, intelligent guys who are fun to work with and gracious about things like horrible weather. In January, at 8am on a Saturday--in pouring, freezing rain--two wonderful guys helped us unload a 16ft truck on a sidewalk and into our apartment without any sign of irritation despite the fact that it was a pain in the ass and a cold, miserable situation. This review is long overdue. Chuck and all the people that helped us, thank you so much. Your rates are reasonable for the non-wealthy among us and your people are lovely human beings. I am happy that I found this company when I was looking to move into my new apartment. I had a strict time frame within which to get my furniture assembled because I was expecting to host guests within days of moving in. Chuck responded quickly to my inquiry about his services, arrived on time and got straight to work. He was very friendly and courteous and did an excellent job with assembling my bed, sofa and dining table set; and did an absolutely superb job at mounting my tv to what appeared to be a very complex full motion wall mount. I highly recommend his services with absolutely no reservations. My kitchen is being remodeled next week so everything had to be packed up prior. Normally, this is not a problem. I have moved several times and consider myself quite an expert packer. The problem is, I broke my back recently and I am unable to bend or lift. I found this company on the Internet while searching for someone to help put in IKEA piece together. I asked if they do packing as well. While I didn't get it together to figure out the IKEA products, I did need the help packing. I could not have been happier! James was amazing!!! Make and Moves was an amazing find. We needed to move a leather sectional down two flights of steps, out a small doorway and into a moving van. The movers showed up 15-20 minutes early, which was even better for us. They were pandemic prepared with facial masks and hand sanitizer. They were friendly, careful and very professional. I reserved them in advance with a deposit through PayPal and their fees were excellent for the job. Chuck, the owner, emailed me an invoice confirmation once I booked and communicated both by email and texts quickly. We couldn't have managed without them! Chuck is the best!! He did an outstanding job on the installation of a complicated wallpaper project. He was prompt, professional and detail oriented. When there was a slight detail that I asked him to change in the middle of the install he redid it without complaining, and finished on time! Amazing service. We required help having our TV mounted on the wall and the wires hidden. Chuck came by on the very same day, and installed the TV in an expeditious and professional manner. I was unsure when the concrete would be delivered, and they worked with my uncertain schedule without issue.
